Grand Theft Auto has got to be the worst franchise ever, made popular by wannabe, couch potato gangsters and uber stoners. The story lines are pointless, they have no redeeming qualities.
I have tried them all to see what the hype was about and I know several people that play them exclusively.

Everything Final Fantasy sucks in my opinion.
Metal Gear Solid is also stupid.

There is no instance of me completely hating an entire genre of games. Series, on the other hand, have favorites and plagues for me. If I had to choose one I hate the most, it would be Resident Evil. I've given every game in the series a try through demos and such, and each game seems plagued by very unlikeable characters and unusable controls. They just don't capture my attention.
I hate them because I get sick of them in about a week. And there is no way I'm walking through the middle of a busy city with a plastic guitar and a game case to trade them in.Bofus Teefus said:

While I don't have any actual games or genres that I hate, I have to say that I absolutely cannot stand games with too poorly-written characters. The main characters should be people that by themselves can keep you interested to keep playing the game. It just annoys me when people spend more time in making everything look pretty instead of developing the actual characters we're supposed to be looking at. That's why I enjoy JRPGs, a lot of them actually have very well-developed characters that keep me interested.
Whereas I don't play things like sports games and games based on movies, I tend to try and keep an open mind and not hate anything until I've actually given it an honest chance.
Pokemon is the only turn based game I enjoy, because they do it RIGHT. If they had fleshed out the RPG for the 'Cube better, it would've made my top 5 games list.

I like pretty much every style of game but based on where I play it.
EG.
FPS - love them on the computer, HATE HATE HATE them on a console
Platformers - Love them on consoles, hate them on the computer
RTS - love them on the computer, hate them on consoles
Action - it really depends on the game, most times you can tell what system it was developed (eg. Max Payne was far better on the PC but Hulk should never have been ported to the PC) for and it typically plays best there
RPGs - same as action but I typically prefer PC.
I prefer not to play most sports games because I could actually be out playing the real sport. With the exception of exadurated sports like SSX or most Racing games.
PS. I always thought Halo was a lame derivative of far better FPSs that came before it. On the other side of that, while I liked all the Half life games, I never saw why people thought they were so far superior to other FPSs, to me they were just another fun FPS.

2. Turning sucks at high speeds. Do a power slide like in Mario Kart, dammit!!!

I find most racing games to be a bit dull, notable exeptions are Mario kart and Motorstorm.
I'm also not a big fan of sports games and admit I never got Guitar hero and Rockband, I don't really hate any of them, I just don't play them.
