Prince of Persia - Sands of Time. Just doesn't work right on the PC.
Guild Wars. I'm pretty sure it's an open-ended game but I couldn't get past about level 9. I got stuck on a ledge and the game wouldn't let me simply run off said ledge, I had to teleport to another city, then run back. I went back to playing WoW.

I can't bring myself to finish Operation Flashpoint Red River. I like the game it's just the ai squad that I can't stand... Half the time they're standing out in the open during a fire fight and don't have to sense to heal themselves... Maybe I'm just bad at the game so I can't really jump to conclusions.

Oblivion. It made me realise that I am pretty shallow after all and that I do care about what a game looks like. That and the fact that I couldn't have been less arsed if I had tried; I don't go into a game to not be told how to level up so I can go and take on a dicking Oblivion gate... I had such high hopes for it as well...

Assassins creed brotherhood- the game was really good generally its just some of the free running sections where you are forced to take a predermined path feel rushed and also the controls are incredibly sensitive- the amount of times I ended up jumping off a roof and breaking my back.

Lost Planet- So much hype but the gameplay felt sluggish and unresponsive which I think let the possibly good storyline down but I didn't get far enough to see out most of it.

Borderlands- Watched a trailer for it which was awesome. Bought it, watched the intro which had a good soundtrack and was very well done. But 10 seconds into the gameplay I thought this is some of the worst gameplay/story/menu style I have ever seen. Played for 2 hours. Then sold it.

Deus Ex: I just really wasn't all that great at the game (got up to and airfield) and never stuck with me however I can understand why people adore it so much, with all choices you can make.

Fallout NV: I just can't get myself to enjoy the game even though I got the platinum in Fallout 3.

Persona 1: The grinding felt like it just got too much for me, and it really feels like you have to grind throughout the game

Valkyria Chronicles II: Same with Persona, except replace grinding with farming, got up to first story mission in December and Dirk *always* kills me no matter what I do.

I might pick up some of these games and push myself to finish them sometime like I did with Half Life 2 (goddamn AI locked the infamous laser room stopping me from getting to one of the generators).

Persona 4.

I really like it, but the dungeons are just too repetetive. I intend to pick it up again soon.
I'm at the part where I need to rescue Naoto from a bunker...can anyone tell me if it's worth going on?
Tell me about it. The battle system seems fast-paced t first, with all the high damage and enemies getting one-shotted, but you still spend hours just grinding... boss battles taking like 45 minutes. I usually watch a few movies or surf the web while grinding - good thing my computer is right next to the tv.

Singularity. Interesting, solid game if a bit Bioshock-y but I lost interest.

Demon's Souls because it's so fucking hard.

And Crysis 2 is going to end up like this because it's frustratingly hard and is just an ugly game. I don't know how to describe it. It's like visual diarrhea. There's so much shit going on onscreen that it gives me a headache.

I accidentally bought H.A.W.X. 2 in a steam bundle last Christmas. I tried getting a refund out of steam in exchange for them taking the thing off of my account, to no avail. I still haven't installed the bloody thing.

Crysis 2 Multiplayer. I ran into hackers on my second day of playing, and a lot of them. Plus the invisibility was useless and the motion blur was way overdone, making it too hard to see things unless you werent moving the camera.

Final Fantasy VIII has already been mentioned. I just could not force myself to like any of the characters. Squall in particular jumped right on my nerves and stayed on them until I stopped playing.

Dark Cloud. Either I didn't get it or there was nothing to get. After a couple hours of play I was unable to sustain the cash flow required to keep my weapons repaired. Everything broke. Needed money to fix the weapons, needed fixed weapons to get money. Stopped wasting my time.

The first F.E.A.R. game. I got to the third mission and I just found it to be the most generic shooter I'd ever played, not to mention the "scary" bits to that point did nothing for me.

Also, Final Fantasy VIII. I got about 3/4 through the game before I gave up. Not only was there a very sudden rise in difficulty curve, but the story just got stale about halfway through even though I had really enjoyed it up to that point.

Portal. The game has an awesome sense of humor and intriguing mechanics. If only stepping through the portals didn't trigger my sensitivity to motion sickness... :(

Knights in the Nightmare.

Before you castrate me for saying anything bad about that great game, it was the progression and rather crazy preparation times before fights. I loved the gameplay, and the actual fighting portions were great. Dodging bullet hell while maneuvering about the screen to direct troops? Brilliant. But switching/positioning characters, messing with your massive load of 50+ equips and trying to figure out what's best for a given situation based on an absolutely massive number of potential factors just weighed too heavily on me. Being completely unable to go back to previous levels to unlock the many characters and items I missed, as well as doing those pause menu conversations I completely forgot about in the heat of battle every single time, I felt like I was missing out on what I needed to continue. It also didn't help that progression from one level to the next was mandatory and linear. I couldn't go back to level up my units, fuse/break/upgrade weapons, etc after I had already done so and saved. You save after and before each battle, so if your last save was before a fight and you had some extra weapons and experience to mess with, you'd have to win that fight before you could access it.

Poor design choices and just WAY TOO MUCH strategizing for so many factors that made it feel ultimately pointless in the end: that's Knights in the Nightmare in a nutshell to me. Really fun in action, but I seriously spent half an hour planning and positioning for every 5 minutes of crazed dodging and attacking.
