Shit, I could look at my collection and just start naming things (By "Everyone", I assume you are talking about the vocal group on The Escapist since every one of these games sold about a zillion copies) :)

I wouldn't say loved, but i enjoyed FFX-2 and DA2 overall, though i can agree on them both being pretty flawed
Wow, I was starting to feel like I was the only person in the world who loved Dragon Age 2. I actually just finished it again yesterday. We should start a support group :)

Support group established DA2 was and is great so is FFX-2 though oddly enough FFX-2 was mostly reviewed to be as good or better than FFX yet till now I've never anyone speak positively in the same day as mentioning it, odd.

Captcha: 'last straw' cuz' it's tired of these mother fuckin' haters in these mother fuckin' threads.

EDIT: It's my birthday so that's a great reason to spread any kind of love especially for me (and games I guess).

Half Life 2. It is fun, has likeable characters and still looks good today. But everybody seems to hate it for some reason.

Shadow the Hedgehog, what was wrong with it? It got a beating from fans but I thought it was pretty good, not great, but fun!

Destroy all Humans: Path of the Furon, ok, have to ask, WHY WAS THIS GAME GIVEN SUCH A BAD SCORE?! It wasn't perfect and the facial texture and the graphical textures were ass but the game was fun as hell and had the best weapons in the series yet (especially the saucer) why does it have a 30 something on metacritic? Also, the music was awesome.
I think both of these things are disliked because they don't scream quality, and that's what people see. I can actually enjoy Shadow of the Hedgehog. But it certainly isn't very Sonicy, even for a spin off.
The only thing that can make me play Path of the Furon is curiosity. A lot of the environment looks like it's still in beta to me, and you can walk around without any stealth...presumably because everyone is too high in the 70s to care. Also, there were easy to find glitches. Me and my brother in multiplayer figure out you could surf a vehicle if you put an ion detonator on it, stood on it, then made it explode. In fact if flies so far up in a very unflowing way that it actually reaches the boundary for the sky, and forces you off. There's litte things like weapons not looking as cooler and is all just screams lower budget than the previous games.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) - It'll always elude me why people hate this game with such fury that burns bright as a thousand suns. Other than framerate drops, I thought this game was awesome. It was like Sonic Adventure, which I also loved. Honestly I wish they'd make more "open-world" Sonic games. Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic(2006) are easily my top three of all the Sonic games.
Constant loading screens, having a human be important. Having to buy upgrades, and the common glitches that would make the game unplayable.
But if you are lucky enough to not find these annoying and not to get glitches, then yes, it has the potential to be somewhat great. The music certainly helps.

I just... love to unwind, ya know? Dynasty Warriors is just tons of fun to me. The Gundam ones I like even better, both mechanically, and because I'm a Gundam fanboy.
Yeah, they're the only DW games I own, and I have all of them.
But I think the third one was a bit of a step backwards. There were very few cutscenes and they were reused across character's stories.
Also, they seemed to succeed in making it more repetitive. They had different types of objectives before. In that one it was pretty much always just "Take over all the stuff". I liked that they added reason to have certain places, but they didn't seem important enough.
Also, they finally decided to cater for story outside of UC. I thought that'd be great, but it ended up making the UC missions more boring, and the out of UC missions were barely anything more than the previous games' approach to each character's last mission. It usually being "Fight your rival". The main problem being that they didn't include grunt suits for certain series, so that's prett ymuch all you can do. The entire Unicorn story missoins were made up entirely of 2 misisons. One where you do a regular mission, but at the end defeat Full Frontal, and the second, where you are put in a box, just to fight him again. What makes this even more stupidly simple is playing on Easy, which makes everyone's mobile suits as tough as pudding, but I was forced into it due to the weird difficulty jump between Easy and Normal that really makes you work for those 3 lives they decided to give you this time.
Giant enemies were way more challenging in 3. I would find that if I had to fight it, aswell as an Ace, I would often be totally screwed.
The only good thing to me about the third game was the updating the roster and adding previously ignored characters and mobile suits. But even to be able to use more Wing suits didn't carry this for me (even though I figured out how to cloak as Deathscythe Hell, which is cool). Still put over 24 hours in it though.

Talk to me, baby. <3

Others that seem to get me some flak for enjoying them as much as I do are Final Fantasy X-2, my favorite game of all time and one of the best J-RPGs in history, and Duke Nukem Forever, which... don't get me wrong, it isn't very good, but it's at least functional, and more importantly, it's funny. As hell.

In ascending order: Dragon Age 2, SWTOR, Mass Effect 3. All three of those are great for playing out different characterizations, and it makes me sad how much hatred they get for such tiny reasons.

Love is pushing it, and I'm not defending the quality in a critical sense, but Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects.

It has practically no balance, and the rage mechanic doesn't work that well. Despite that, I appreciate how interactive the various stages were; throwing cars and whacking people with street lamps. They did a decent job of achieving their goal as far as easy and intuitive controls. Even without Capcom motions (fireball, dragon punch etc.) characters had sufficient variety in their attacks.

I find Metroid Other M to be a great game with an average story. I just wish people thought about the game more, and less about the story involved, like it should be.

Splatterhouse is rather good, but it got panned by critics for no honest reason other than it was a bit buggy, and the platforming was a bit off the mark.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow gets bad rep from the fans, but it's a great game. It's presentation is the most slickest I have ever came across in my whole twenty years of gaming.

Also, Alpha Protocol is a better RPG than Mass Effect ever was, there I said it.

I must be one of the fortunate ones that haven't come across any game breaking bugs. The only thing I've come across is the framerate likes to kick itself in the nuts at inconvenient times, but that's about it. Having grown up with PS2, loading screens aren't particularly a bother to me. And just about every Sonic game has had an important human in it(Dr. Robotnik/Eggman) so I don't really see the problem there, either. And in my honest opinion, buying upgrades is a rather petty con, there isn't really much of a problem there, either. In other Sonic games you find them, in this one you buy them.

One of my favorite aspects is the fact that you have several characters to play, all with their own end of the story for you see. As I've said before, I honestly wish Sega made more of this type of Sonic game, like Sonic Adventure and Sonic(2006).

Eh.

I've been a member at No Mutants Allowed for years now. While I openly admit that I do overall prefer the the rest of the series (excluding the complete garbage PS2/X-Box exclusive one) over Fallout 3, that doesn't make Fallout 3 a bad game to me. I still had a lot of fun playing it, and isn't that what really matters in the end? But hey, that's just my take on it :p

So... on topic... let's see...

1. Mass Effect 3. Though I disliked the ending, I still loved Mass Effect 3 as a whole. Despite the massive amount of hate it's received, I don't have any regrets whatsoever for paying full price for it on day 1.

2. Dead Space 2. Not only did I like this game, I actually prefer it over the first Dead Space. Sure, it wasn't scary since it became a James Cameron style action sequel... but I really didn't find the first game scary either, so that's a bit of a moot point to me. I thought the story, and story-telling, were both better, and the set pieces were a hell of a lot more engaging to me. I still loved the first game, since it was basically a modernized version of my beloved System Shock 2, but Dead Space 2 is likely the one I'll end up remembering more fondly.

3. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I get the hatred toward this game, trust me. I understand all of the hatred toward One Man Army noob tubers, and I understand the hatred toward all of the air support. But honestly, I still freaking loved it. Between the X-Box 360 version that my roommate had at university and the PC version I bought on Steam after graduation, I probably logged somewhere in the ballpark of 500 hours in this game's multiplayer. I didn't like the graphical changes made for Black Ops, and always felt like the controls were a little sluggish, so I just couldn't get into it... and Modern Warfare 3's small maps got tiresome real fast (and this is even factoring in that they played to my strengths since I mostly use SMGs/shotguns). So whenever I need my mindless FPS multiplayer fix, it's always MW2 I end up going back to. /shrug.

Metal Gear Solid 4 (not "Hated" but most would say it's the weakest of the series, which I disagree with)
Do you mean Portable Ops? I agree, it was underrated. Don't know why you called it MGS4 though...
Silly Matthew, don't you remember that only works for the Deus Ex series.

I'm still puzzled as to why it took over ten years for a sequel to the original.

I'm going to come out and say it: Dead Island. I thought it was a fun game... Zombie borderlands? It's awesome. But another game I'd say I liked but received some hate is Alice: Madness Returns. It just scratched the right spot for me.

Wii Music, Mega Man 7, I thought Final Fantasy 12 was one of the best games in the series.
I'd say FF12 is more or less accepted as a good game by fans of the series. If anything at least I agree with you in this one (but I also liked FF8 back then so my opinion doesn't matter much :D).

A recent one for me would be Silent Hill Downpour. Critics and gamers bashed the hell out of it (and I don't blame them, the game IS full of problems), but I loved it!
The story is nice and emotive, soundtracks is gorgeous and the mood is just spot on. I'd go as far to say that artistically the game is everything SH is supposed to be, but the faulty mechanics, as well as some of the design choices, hold it back quite a bit.

Dead Space 2.
Returning to the ship from the first game won me over completely, it was just an amazing experience, and while on the ship, I was tenser then I was the rest of the game. The audio was great.

All Final Fantasy. I enjoy them all. What can I say.

WoW. It's WoW.

Fallout 3. I loved exploring it. I enjoy kill cams. I like how no one is safe from me. Skyrim, why I no can kill everyone?

Dragon Age as a series: 2 was ok, I like somethings about it more, and when I got DA:O, my friends all hated it. Made me sad.
