Rune Factory: Frontier

The Runey system pretty much sucks most, if not all, of the fun out of an otherwise perfect game, imho.

You know, if you sleep in a bed, it'll set your respawn point there. Until you sleep again, or move that bed.

KOTOR II. You know, it being unfinished and buggy as hell. Still love it though.

(Yes I know there's a mod and I use it, still it sucks that it was never finished)

Halo: Reach. There are no Scarab fights!
Oblivion. Terrible voicework.
Batman: Arkham Asylum. You don't get to drive the batmobile. :(

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. I throughly enjoyed the game but I absolutley hated the fact that it ended just as it was getting good. It's just a stupid linear sequence were you can only use the Piece of Eden which drains your health and fails to be an adequate defence against swords!

The Sands of Time, I love almost everything about it but the combat is just not up to snuff. Anyone who has played it will say the same.

Arcanum: Bugs. BUGS. Also balance.

Planescape: There are issues, but the biggest one is from Curst on. So many fights.

Terranigma: The entire magic and levelling system. Also, Bloody Mary. And the grinding. Honestly the gameplay is something I suffered through for the plot.

Sacrifice: Late-game Pyro missions. I refuse to say anything more on the subject.

^- This pretty much sums up AC:Brotherhood for me.

Mirror's Edge.
Combat required too much practice and perfect timing, same with some of the parkour stuff.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Absolutely perfect except for one factor:

HEY! LISTEN!

This guy got me on to a stack of roguelike and other old school games when I was crippled for a few months. Good games, all of them, but not very intuitive or easy to get into. I guess I'm spoiled by modern user interfaces, but I found it a struggle to get my head around. I never thanked you properly for that!

Otherwise, Morrowind and Oblivion crashed on me, a lot.

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect

The multiplayer wasn't as good as TimeSplitters 2.

Haha, so true!

Viking: Battle for Asgard = Geneally a good fun hack 'n' slash, with a bit of repition, though still good. The problem? A terrible ending. Not only did the boss fight suck, the ending cinematic was lacklustre...

Freelancer: Good story, good flight mechanics, good fun. The problem? Anything outside the main story was very copy/paste (i.e. no real variety in the missions).

THIS MAN SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!!!

Rune factory Frontier broke my heart. It was the PERFECT harvest moon game. The veggie growing was great, the combat flowed beautifully, the local villagers were excellent, it was all amazing. Then the runey system forces me to babysit these little sprite populations, or risk not being able to grow anything if they all die out.

Whoever thought it was a good idea needs to meet the business end of a sword. AT LEAST they could have made it less painless if we could have had the runey map available all the time, and the range of the vacuum wasn't shit, but nooooooooooooo!

Dead Space. Smooth and intuitive controls, interesting story, most horribly-executed silent protagonist ever. Giving Isaac a voice for DS2 was just a massive improvement.

Fallout 3. Everything except the ending was great, but oh boy is that ending a shitty one.

Grand Theft auto IV. Great story, great characters, great writing, but otherwise lacking in variety and fun.

Assassin's Creed. Lots of fun, uncommonly intelligent storytelling, and very repetitive. This is another one where the sequel was a huge improvement.

Resistance 2. Now, I can understand wanting to change gameplay elements that don't work, but not only did the health system and giant weapons loadout from the first game work, those things were part of what made Resistance 1 a cut above the average shooter. There was literally no reason for putting in standard regen health and butchering my arsenal other than blatant CoD-aping to make more money, and no one likes that.

I didn't have a problem with that. The problem for me were the lacklustre bosses. Otherwise, brilliant game.

Not a massive problem, but fairly noticeable, in the peerless Silent Hill : Shattered Memories, the chase sequences tend to frustrate more often than not, which sucks, considering how there's plenty of hidden symbolism tucked away in them. Lets hope they avoid this in Downpour.

I agree with this.

As for mine, Bayonetta and its QTE's.
