The enemy AI can switch between pants-on-head-retarded to bloody Winston Churchill tactician.
Oh and they love hiding round corners with shotguns.
You have to admit that it's pretty damn funny when they all rush the door that you have a conveniently placed C4 charge. Ever notice that on maps like Kill House, Convention Center, and Calypso Casino that they're suckers for rappel lines?

I've played certain levels so many times that I know where the triggers are to make AI spawn in certain places and I have a very good idea of how those AI will behave after spawning. RSV2 was an awesome shooter, but the AI can get very predictable.

Infinite space- The combat system.
Ok so you are in outer space commanding 5 spaceship. You see the enemies ship and what you do? Why move forward or backward of course! Ok granted that happen in films but why not have my ship battle the other from side to side or in other position? It doesn't make sense to simply have both ships to attach in front of each other.
Also the combat system is too simple is its just a rename rock, paper, scissor (heavy attack, normal attack and dodge).

L.A. Noire
Cole Phelps can sometimes react to a sitation in a completely nonsensical way and it really breaks the immersion.

Yeah, i noticed that too. I was all like "he's telling the truth", and Cole went "I'M GONNA RIP YOUR FACE OFF ************ IF YOU MESS WITH ME!"

Dragon Age: Origins
I just beat my third play through the game yesterday, and this time was my favorite. I played a a dwarf who specialized in two handed weapons. When I got to the part which I always hate, the part where you go into the Fade in the Circle of Magi quest, I didn't dislike it as much as the first two times. I still think that it would be a better game without that part though...

Splinter Cell Conviction
It needed a good multiplayer mode.

Dead Rising 2 (The BIGGEST Mistake of the bunch)
I am a HUUUUUUGE Dead Rising Fan. The first game held my #1 game spot for years, and I got all the achievements and everything. I was somewhat disappointed when I found out that they were making a second one, but I actually loved it! The ONE this they screwed up was the overtime.
When the military shows up is when overtime should start. That was was happened in the first game wasn't it? They basically made it so that you HAVE to beat most of the story in the normal story mode and then they tagged a cheap little ending overtime mode on the end. If after you beat the traitorous final boss you went back to the safe room and took your daughter on the helicopter I believe that would have been the perfect ending. That is one of the endings, but it isn't the REAL overtime mode ending, so that kind of pissed me off just a little :)

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Absolutely perfect except for one factor:

HEY! LISTEN!
Am I the only person who actually liked Navi? Like, seriously, everyone seems to hate her but me.

mafia II, it would be fine with different missions, but I hate the AI running the cops the most. I just want to have giant gunfights in stores and shops, but I can kill 30 pedestrians and only 5 cops show up, then the moment I get into a car and drive 5 yards 20 cop cars show up. It's ridiculous.

Final Fantasy IX - Doesn't age well mechanically.
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines - Broken game that had no money to finish. (At least fans fixed some of it and even the first half is better than most games released recently.)
Dragon Age: Origins - Mechanics and game balance.
Dragon Age 2 - Poor development resource allocation lead to a limited map selection and unfinished narrative.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion - Weak Game Mechanics, poor immersion.
Prince of Persia(2008) - The ending/Lack of sequel.
Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice - Lack of motivation to continue through extra content, short main story.
Mirror's Edge - Flow breaking combat in latter portion of the game.

BlazBlue: I'm not good at it. =(

You can't delete quests in Borderlands! AHHH!! I hate it! When you have a instant share system in the multiplayer, you have to be able to delete quests! That alone is the reason I never play multiplayer in Borderlands unless I know the person I'm playing with.

Agree with KOTOR II.
Evil Genius needed randomly generated islands.
SimCity Societies needs some definable logic applied to their +/- social values system.

Not entirely serious, maybe.

Arx Fatalis - Confusing level design. Sudden skyrocketing level requirements to do a quest. Frustrating jumping controls, followed by jumping puzzles.

Oddworld - Unresponsive and clunky controls. Mostly trial and error gameplay. Fleeches.

Crash Bandicoot - Awful camera + Instant deaths.

Syphon Filter - Stupid "stealth" segments. Awkward movement.

Tenchu 1/2 - Horrendously Awkward movement and fighting controls. Trying to turn your ass around felt like trying to turn a cruise ship around.

Rome: Total War - public order always gets out of control once the population goes just a little too high... and why, when a settlement revolts, the rebel army has better troops than the ones I can field??
It's so frustrating that no matter how early you make those damn sewers, every large city ends up getting furious by the levels of squalor late in the game. Plus, when you have cities with vastly varied levels of population, the small ones all tend to be happier because they don't have to pay for the massive upkeep of your globe-trotting legions.
Rome: Total War was still a fantastic game and is responsible for my love of the franchise.

As a small caveat, have you tried Shogun 2 Total War?

Silent Hill 2:

Excellent story, characters and atmosphere but dialogue is fairly stunted and gameplay is awkward

Red Dead Redemption:

Brilliantly immersive, good character development and realistic body language but has a ridiculously slow burn

Bioshock 1/2:

Intriguing setting and story/ improved gameplay and moral choices but moral choices are too 'black and white' to be meaningful/ unnecessary and obviously made for the money

Honestly, what games doesn't have flaws?

Yeah, whenever I play as the Greek Cities, I need a full stack garrison in Syracuse all the time... once it rebels, the brigand army is composed of Peasants/Peltasts/Hoplites, which would be all well and good... but EXPERIENCE 8?! ARMOUR & WEAPONS UPGRADE 3?! A unit of those gods-damned peasants can bring down my Armoured Hoplites... FFS! *ugh*

*ahem* Yep, I've played Shogun... as Date, Oda, Chosokabe and Shimazu. Finished as Oda & Chosokabe, but just can't seem to get my Shimazu campaign going. I get clogged up going from Kyushu to Honshu. Anyway, did you want to know anything about it?

I can feel your pain regarding those damn Greek cities. It's so frustrating having to turn around a legion heading to crush German hordes to put down those rebel armies that can crush several garrisons of Town Guard without any problem.

Regarding Shogun Total War 2, I've actually beaten the campaign with all of the clans and absolutely loved it (kind of obvious considering the time commitment). Oda (even on Legendary) were far too easy. All you have to do is spam Ashiguru armies as fast as possible. I think I finished that campaign in 33 turns.

As for the Shimazu, the fact that they get cheaper and better Katana Samurai is amazing. Coupled with their ability to get 4 out of the 5 trading locations makes them a great clan. Christianity can be a pain on higher difficulties, but it's nothing an army of monks can't sort out.

I found that the best way to tackle the next landmasses was to create amphibious assaults (navy dumping armies) against their largest unprotected cities. Once you have the protection of a city, you can take a massive army with a rather modest force.

No matter how long you play Dwarf Fortress, you will never get completley used to it's nightmarish inerface. It's the main thing that drives away people that give the game a chance, and even when you get into the game itself it will continue to ruin your enjoyment. It's just such a bloated, terrible to navigate mess that makes everything in the game harder to do. Of course this is a result of the game being stupidly complex. It's understandable that the interface is bloated horror, but that doesn't make using it any more pleasant.

I love Dwarf Fortress and think it is a game more people need to try out. However if someone tells me they can't get into it becuase of the interface, I completley understand what they are talking about. It's truly awful.

Nope. This has actually come up many times before, and from what I've seen most people who actually played the game outside of their youth don't mind Navi. The hate for her comes from exaggerated jokes that have been on the internet for years, thus building her reputation as an annoying blight. Even though in the actual game she doesn't talk nearly as often as some would leave you to believe.

You know who was annoying? That fucking owl. I think we can all agree that he was nothing but a pest.
