games you love but have one flaw

Every. Single. Harvest Moon. Ever.

Don't get me wrong. I love the series, but the biggest flaw I have with them is that the year system is so effing bland. Once you play through your first year, there is pretty much a guarantee that you've seen every event the games have to offer. Sure there's a lot of non-timed events like going on "Dates" with the eligible bachelor(ette)s, but most veteran players can burn through those events in about a single year as well.

I would love to see more random/out-of-the-blue events in these games, just to mix things up.

Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time
Sudden twist hits you from nowhere without much warning. Like BEWM. Everything you knew for half the damn game is a lie, cause we told you so.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
I think ZP mentioned quite a bit of it. How Alucard overreacts to even 1 hitpoint of damage. That and how easily exploitable the game is.

Warriors Orochi 2
Its ANOTHER Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors game. Though, as this is the first and only one I've played, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Drakengard
AMAZING storyline, repetitive ass gameplay.

Drakengard 2
Better gameplay, not as good of a storyline. Like cavia couldn't make up there damned mind.

Prototype
Gets redundant after a while (Oh hey I listed a modern game!!!)

Dungeon Fighter Online
The customization, OH the customization!

Tail Concerto
DAMN YOU INDEFINITE REVIVING FINAL BOSS!!!
I actually lost cause I forgot how to pick up items. Hadn't played in a while. So the crystals just stayed there in their merriment.

.hack//INFECTION, .hack//MUTATION, .hack//OUTBREAK
Level. Grinding. Sucks. (Haven't played .hack//QUARANTINE yet.)

Dark Cloud.
Repetitive. Redundant. You've heard it all before

Final Fantasy XII
Level grinding better than .hack//, but still. Pretty painful.

Dragonball Z Budokai or Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi ANYTHING
TOO FRIGGIN' EASY!!! Beating the final boss on the hardest difficulty setting after not playing for two years and doing it with EASE is disgraceful!

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening - Special Edition
Jesus Christ dudes! I'm not THAT good of a gamer!

Knytt Stories
Levels are either too easy, or too damn ridiculously hard. Unless made by Nifflas himself.

Crash Bandicoot
The saving system... gives me nightmares.

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Where the hell do I GOOOOOOO?!

I think... I think I'm done... finally... *gasping for air*

HOLD IT!!!!!!!

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney
Um... actually kind of the same thing as Kirby. Sometimes its a bit difficult to find where to go.

Also I found my self once saving at a choice that either one would penalize me, and I was on my last strike, and had to start the day over again T.T

Portal 2: It's short. Argue all you want and argue for the coop but the single-player story is too short.

Burnout paradise: aesthetic changes too much, sometimes looks bright, colorful, and fantastic, but also sometimes looked grey and washed out.

Gran turismo 5: Menus and general outlay are unintuitive. The loading times are not bad, but they are just innapropriately long for the situation. The main example being 10 seconds between simple menus.
I'd say the flaw for Portal 2 is the lack of Replay Value. There's hardly any. AT ALL. You can't deny it.

Star Wars Battlefront 2
Too easy, bad multiplayer (good for the era, but still. Leading me to...) and no sequel.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Absolutely perfect except for one factor:

HEY! LISTEN!
Am I the only person who actually liked Navi? Like, seriously, everyone seems to hate her but me.
Cheer up, some people like Hitler. So yes by liking Navi you think Hitler is right.

Viewtiful Joe- I'm a complete wimp and I did find it a tad to difficult still love it.

Super smash bros brawl- I'm still not sold on the final smashes, game is great fun but not really a thinking man's game.

New Vegas- the bugs are horrible

Oh, Red Steel 2, why don't you have multiplayer?

Speaking of, did anyone else notice that the multiplayer on the Wii version of The Force Unleashed almost worked? That could almost be a fun game in itself.

Anyway, Magicka, WHY ARE YOU NOT BALANCED FOR SINGLE PLAYER.

WHYYYYYYY

Mass Effect 2, the only way to upgrade things is to spend a bagillion credits to bring the damage up by 2% or spend a quarter of an hour scanning planets.

EDIT: Forgot one, GTAIV and all it's sub stories, all the vehicles are hard to drive, cars feel heavy and usually have terrible handling, you can land a 747 in the motorcycles' turning radius, and helicopters are just.... really... hard to fly.

It's a fun, awesome game, but a bit... weird. Incest, peadophilia and abortion are all things cut not so subtley out of the western release.

Haha, wow. Honestly though, I can understand how the incest and the fact that Arioch devours children weren't so "hidden" as they said they were in the english release, but... you'd really only know the pedophilia if you looked it up. Cause the only way to see it in the english one is just to have a nonsensical immature dirty mind. Its not really "there."

And what the hell are you talking about abortion?

Borderlands. One of my faves of all time, with one flaw.

The environments.

Just the same, rocky desert canyons and scrapyards rinse and repeat. Luckily Gearbox mixed it up a little with the very end and Zombie Island, but the damage was already done.

And both Bioschocks' final levels. Bioshock 1, just that asinine protecting stuff you had to do and half of your sight was blocked with HUD elements. Bioshock 2, the game just fell apart. Trying to invoke a sense of urgency and haste but still make the level so expansive that there is still a fuckton of things to find just shoots the game in the leg.

And you couldn't run miss "Hey Listen" through with your sword.

Also... Half - Life 2 (yes I went there) Great all round, but the combine is always armed, always on guard and the humans are always armed and always part of the resistance. Why didn't we get to see some combine at home? Why were all the humans part of the resistance?

Saints row 2, only flaw was it was a terrible port onto the PC - commonly crashing and often laggy except if you borrow Bill Gates laptop.

Although (for once) when it was on the console it was one of my favie games.

Final Fantasy VI is one of my most favorite games ever, but it's completely broken. The big one that comes to mind is the evasion stat. I don't know about any of the remakes for it, but on the SNES version the evasion stat does absolutely nothing. M.Defense and Defense stats are actually the ones that decrease a monster's chance to hit while also increasing defenses. It's not really a major flaw, but it is kinda depressing when you find gear that adds a lot to evasion when you know it does nothing for the wearer.

Fallout New Vegas: I started finding these executive override terminals all over the place. I thought 'This is how I can somewhat peacefully take down House!' Turns out no... but still all my hunting them down has to do something, at some point right? No... If you aren't going to include a mission, don't leave all the clues in place ._.
