Games you really, really hated

Man, it's like everyone hates FFXIII..For pretty much all of the same reasons too, 'linearity', 'battle system', 'characters/story'.. If I had a gripe about it, it's the sudden jump in bosses HP into the millions level. Other than that, I liked it.

Anyways, as this isn't a 'favorite game' thread, I'll come up with a game I at least disliked.

Probably one of the few games I actually disliked was Prince of Persia, for the Xbox 360 (and possibly PS3). I couldn't exactly tell you why, it's been quite a while since I played it.

Well, to make it more clear, I LOVED it first play-through, but then I realized because the way the game and plot was built, it always boiled down to the same bit. No interesting choices...just always two...with usually similar outcomes that is simply a way to record how much of a **** you are.

Hah, I bought Sherlock Holmes Vs. Jack the Ripper for kicks and giggles. After the first ten minutes of the horrible voice acting and gameplay, I took it to a pawn shop and sold it.

Does it seem like a big deal? No. But I'm an avid fan of Sherlock and have the book collection to prove it...so it was pretty dang offensive how they could take such an awesome idea and throw up their chuke all over it.

Lesson learned, kiddies: If it's in the discount bin at the store, it's usually for a good reason.

Mirrors Edge, I know people will defend it to death, but i really hated it.

The controls just seemed awkward to me, and the gameplay was far to Trial and Error.

I just thought it was awful, bland and (worst of all) wasn't even scary, I'll admit I'm a movie chicken so me turning around and saying something isn't scary should clue you into how weak the horror is.

I think you just made me giggle more than any joke I've heard in DNF.

I can't think of too many games I absolutely hate, but there are plenty of things I hate about some. I hate most of Dragon Age: Origins. The story and character interactions are the only thing that keep me moving forward. The find the gameplay tedious, which is strange, considering I usually love RPG combat. Loved the hell out of KOTOR, but DA:O is just something I can't usually take.

Final Fantasy X. After about 45 minutes of cutscenes and 5 minute of actual gameplay I threw this shitload in the trash. (People actually heard me scream at the protagonist because he is such a twat).

Agreed 100%. It was at the point when I realised that actually playing the Blitzball game was completely optional that I dropped it like the brick turd it is. Who wants to watch the computer play the fucking game for them?

That game is really easy for gamerscore though. Bad move.

Enough to turn me off of the entire franchise. Shame because I loved KotOR.

Yeh same. It felt like everything good about KotoR was removed for that game. Although I didn't really hate it, it was just ball achingly average.

Final Fantasy XII however was a game that I despise to death. Damn that game was so so bloody dull and I usually love final fantasy games.

Terrible plot, awful characters, mind-numbingly boring combat, a mess of a combat system and what I'd say was a step down in graphics from previous games like FFX.
