Legend of Dragoon (Playstation 1) for a couple of reasons.
As you level up, you unlocked moves for each character. The only problem was, performing each move was a mini Quicktime event. That's right, each and every move. It hits six times, you're having to tap the button six times at specific times, or you cannot complete the move, get murdered, ect.
If you actually managed to complete the move, the character shouts out the name of it each and every time at the top of their voice. Granted, it was interesting the first few times, but when grinding against a boss, it gets tiring to here someone screaming "Pointy Fork Attack!" every nine seconds while you're trying desperately to complete the infuriating Quicktime combos.
And lastly, it was the story. It was actually decent, up until the end, that is. Towards the end, it was more tangled and confused than a cat in a tumble dryer. To this day, over a decade later, I'm still not sure exactly how the game ended. I've tried to restart it, but never get very far.
I hated that game more than Midgar, but I just couldn't put it down.
