I suppose Bethesda deserve recognition for Fallout 3, though 1 and 2 were better...

Hell, any developer I like gets my respect for a game they've made.

Ironclad games for Sins of a Solar Empire, making a 4x strategy game actually fun is much harder than it sounds and 'Sins' is not only fun but all-round awesome.

Also Bioware for everything they have ever made, because they are Bioware.
