Games you respect Developers for

I once held respect for the developers of Dark Void, that is until they moved their release date to avoid conflict with ODST. I think they could've given Bungie a run for their money. I do respect Bungie for atleast trying to innovate a genre that's pretty difficult to add innovation to. By all means, if you can milk a cash cow for over a decade... milk on.
I worship Square Enix for Final Fantasy 10 and the obvious work they're putting into Final Fantasy 13. In my opinion FF10 had the greatest characters and story ever.
Though I predict that FF13 will top that with the magnificent drama and story evident in the new trailer.

Valve - for the absolutely fantastic Half-Life series, L4D, Counter-Strike and other Source awesomeness
Neversoft - for Guitar Hero 3
Bungie - people give them a lot of crap but the Halo formula is really really good
Blizzard - for turning people into "mindless zombies"... scratch that. For all the hours I've spent playing Wow and Warcraft 3
Rockstar - self-explanatory
Capcom - for Dead Rising
Treyarch - okay, this one is kind of stupid, all they do is reskin previous Cod games but the last 3 missions of COD 3 and Nazi Zombies are really good.
Ea Sports - for NHL 09
Codemasters - for Toca Race Driver and Dirt
And, to top it all off:
Infinity Ward - for making 3 of my favorite videogames of all time, making me an FPS fan and standing up against Activision's idea of adding a subsribtion service (like in most MMORPGs)to Cod multiplayer.

Silly me, I also forgot Bioware for Knights Of The Old Republic and Paradox for Hearts Of Iron 2.
Bungie, both for making and then continuing to improve Halo. Not only are the games fantastic, but the effort that Bungie has put into their community is really staggering. You can say what you like about the series, but any games that inspire such unconditional love in so many people must be doing something right.
I just wish more studios were like Bungie providing updates and answering questions every week.ohgodalex said:
