Disgaea 3.
I absolutely adored every NIS game I have gotten my hands on, especially the Disgaea games. I don't know why, but the game just didn't sit well with me.
The whole school theme wore thin REALLY fast to me. It felt like a joke that was simply being stretched too far out, the feeling extended towards Mao and Raspberyl as well.
The game did boast a very massive unlockable cast, featuring characters like Gig and Revya which made me absolutely giddy.. until I found out you have to pay for them.

Yep this, Mass Effect sounds like an adored game (which it is on this website) but it just doesn't have a big fun factor.

EVE Online, theres so much potential to be a kick ass game. But I just cant get passed the fact its a video game version of a spread sheet.

Fallout 3

Maybe just because I played Oblivion first, I couldn't get into it
I thought that at first too. My first FO3 game had me get out of 101 and end the game.

However, after a year of not playing it, I found I kinda craved it (Friends showing random bits and pieces helped). I restarted my file, started playing, and fell in love with the game. Not saying the same'll happen to you, just my experience with it.

Same story for Bioshock and GTA4. Started games, didn't like it, then saw someone else playing awhile later and had to play again. My mind is a fickle thing.

As to the original question: I dunno. I suppose AoE2 for me has gone downhill in recent years. I really wanna enjoy playing it as much as my friends, but I simply don't find it as amusing.

Final Fantasy 12. I somewhat liked the game, but for some reason after about 6 hours in I just didn't feel like going any further and stopped.

BlazBlue Calamity Trigger.
I couldn't even get through one person's story due to my apparent fail at the controls.

Final Fanatasy XIII

I wanted to give it a chance. And it did hold me for a bit... but eventualy, I just got sick of the stupid battle system.

"Lightning's dead!? Let's commit mass suicide, as Phoenix Down's can't do anything and even though the enemies weaked, we just can't go on without her"

After multiple times of getting a two hit Game Over as my teamates were still healthy and the enemy was low on life... I just said, "fuck it. This isn't worth it and it never will be."

Sonic Unleashed

I though the day levels would make up for the night levels... boy was I wrong.

Fear Effect. It looked really cool, and I really want to finish it, but the controls suck something horrible and you can't even change them. Uggh...

Red Dead Redemption. I couldn't do it. The environment was great and the story was set up well but after 4 hours I had enough of the game.

The primary genre that I always have that problem with is RPGs, just off the top of my head, oblivion, morrowind, final fantasy 13, dragon age origins, I wanted to love all these games but the difficulty or mechanics just had me so off balance I was never able to even complete them, dragon age origins and 13 especially, the elder scrolls game I can do without.

I had a couple of game I played, that sounded like the stuff I'd have great fun with
but just couldn't get over some details that killed the fun for me. I tried and invested quite a lot of play time but at one point it's like "screw this, i'm supposed to have fun with this or not?!"

1. Deus Ex, because the shooting was just so wooden...it just didn't feel very fun
2. Morrowind, because of the walls of text. I don't have problem reading lots of text, but then it should be written better, and the dialog system just wasn't very well designed at all
Minecraft... I can't get into any of the multiplayer servers.
I have the ports forwarded and everything, butI can't find a multiplayer IP that will let me in >.<

It's curious that, for the most part, people have chosen really top quality games which have received a lot of positive reviews.
I'm not going to buck this trend at all, Fallout 3 is not something I enjoy at all.
I played for 3 hours but it was just so... fiddly and bitty. No real flow, the indoor environments were crap and the talking screens are horrifying.
Did want to like it though.

Every time I try to play Half-Life 2, I play for a couple minutes and then not again for weeks. I've had the game for over a year now, but I've only just got to the point with the boat thing. I've been playing the other Orange Box games constantly, I just can't quite keep on keeping on with HL2.

Final Fantasy XIII, I really REALLY tried to like it. I wanted to like it real bad, but I just couldn't get over the flaws no matter how hard it tried :(

WoW has turned that way for me now, but it was fun when I started it. Now I want to like it but I cant stand playing anymore.

The Halo story line. I mean it was a decent game and all of my friends were playing it so I went ahead and got it but it just never hit the spot with me.
