any game with an idealized optimum strategy that takes time to perfect.

even back in the Super Mario Bros. days, i've always been a reactive player. i don't like having to memorize AI sequences and timing.. i just like flying by the seat of the my pants. i'll run world 1-1 a different way everytime.. i didn't get how non-typical that was until i started seeing my friends play videogames, they looked like they were on preprogrammed auto pilot.

I used to be good at RTS's but now i just can't stand them for some reason. I try every once in a while to get back into them but it just bores the hell out of me to have to restart missions over and over. Company of Heroes was my latest venture into the RTS genre. Haven't been back since. (what i mean by restarting missions is having to build your base back up from scratch and then going out and conquering again). WC3 was the last RTS i was decent at. But i cant micromanage for shit now =/

Gears of War online. Mainly 'cause I hate 3rd-person shooters.
Same. I'm not that bad, and I certainly don't hate TPSs, but for some reason I just wasn't as good at the MP in Gears as I thought I would be.

Guitar Hero in general on any difficulty that requires all five buttons. Usually because I forget where my hand is placed. (Am I pressing the red button or the yellow button? Dammit!)
Also, Tetris. I don't know why, I just do.
I should also put in most FPS's, since I disorient very easily. "Who in the name of the great diety keeps hitting me?!"

Racing Games...the concept of "hitting the break to make sharp corners" is foreign and goes completely against my code of mashing down the gas button and hoping I speed past high enough in first place to allow for a few crashes on tight turns.

Gears of War online play, peggle, hearts, oregon trail, spider solitaire, checkers as well. Those games just involve utilizing skills that I don't have...I broke a mouse on Oregon Trail. Though, to be fair, I kept getting the worst luck traveling, so when my last yoke broke, my wireless mouse became a victim.

Sports games, cause I never play them. I hate when little scrawny idiots beat me a Madden and then Im just like "Ok, lets go outside and actually play football, ill OMFGPWN you."

They usually say no to this since im 6'3 230, and have played football for 15 years.
We're all insanely impressed.

oh, any online game with a long standing online player base.

trying to play counter strike after months of being offline is a tough experience.

I'm not very good at Call of Duty 4 Online but I absolutely love the game to death. But I guess that's how I am with most online shooters.

I was never any good at driving simulators like Gran Turismo. Give me Stuntman-style driving and I'm decent. Sports games (Madden, etc.) and fighting games (Soul Caliber, etc.) I'm not very good at either. I'm pretty terrible at RTSes (I'm not fast enough). And I love it, but I've never once won a game of Civilization against anyone, computer controlled or not.

Hrm... I guess the only games I'm actually decent at are FPSes (exception being CS) and RPGs. I have a decent twitch reflex and I love the slow pace at which I can turn my characters into near-gods.

Guitar Hero 3 will leave you with bloody and broken fingers if you are a novice.

I just got the save files and I just play it on easy to listen to the songs lol. It's not like I would have played it if my sister didn't buy it.

Also, I LOVE Armored Core but the learning curve is less of a curve and more like a cliff.

FPS games in general. I play on the easiest setting and when i play multiplayer with my friends, I'm the one who gets killed most often because I just try and blow up inanimate objects for the pretty explosions. Not even worth trying at my level of skill against my friends.

I don't think I suck at any games but RTS would have to be my weakest area. I have no problem with spam fests like C&C, but with games like Age of Empires I don't do as well.
I agree. Its just too hard for me to keep track of all my units. Sometimes I'll be so involved in attacking an enemy base that I forget to keep track of my base.

I suck at console FPSs. I hate it, because people will say "Girls suck at FPSs"* but I'm fine at them if I'm using a mouse. The joysticks are just too tricky for me to catch onto immediately. I still have a lot of fun though, mostly because I'm willing to laugh at myself.

*This has happened 4 times. Really, are there that few girls playing that I have to represent an entire gender?
I, too, loathe console FPS's. Turning with a joystick takes way too long. Not to mention you can't press B in Halo to hit a guy while you're turning, unless you have 3 thumbs.

Starcraft and Counter-Strike have handed my ass to me more times than I care to remember. I do fairly decent sometimes, but for the most part, I'm no match for stereotypical Koreans and FPS Doug clones.

Puzzle games aren't my forte either, but ehh. Never really cared much for them anyway.
