An MMO-RPG. Yes, an actual massively populated roleplaying game in a persistent gaming world where the actions of the players has an actual affect on the direction of the storyline of the gaming world.

No, you can't go 'grind mobs' because if you commit genocide of a species, they will either come back in an invasion force or actually be wiped out of the game. No, you can't go fight that epic-level monster when you feel like it, it WILL wipe out a city permanently if you and at least a few hundred other players are not nobley riding out to stop it the same week it starts wreaking havoc. Yes, with the right strategy you can defeat your foes without combat or even with your starting gear, because there aren't face-palmingly stupid gear tiers that everyone and their fifteen pets have to get to remain competitive. And yes, that was an npc you just had a reasonably deep conversation with and the player was the one with the automated 'piss-off' text box dialogue.

*sigh* I guess I'll just have to found the development company and build this from scratch myself though.

The Longest Journey: Dreamfall Chapters.

Not coz I think it would be good, just coz I NEED CLOSURE DAMMIT!
Oh, what I would give to have closure on Zoe Castillo and April Ryan...

I don't believe April is dead

I loved Dreamfall: The Longest Journey!
Curse you Funcom! you soulless demons! how dare you make me spend so many hours of my damn life getting invested in these characters if you aren't going to let me know what frakking happens to them in the end?!?!

(hint: if you ever make one of these 'chapters' there had better not be any 'sentient internet monsters' or there'll be hell to pay, I'm still nursing wounds from 'the adventure game that shall-not-be-named')

The perfect game for me would be:

A lengthy First-Person-Shooter Action-RPG, with an exceptional story; relatable, believable and interesting characters in an equally interesting and artistically styled world. Smooth and intuitive gameplay reminiscent of the simplicity and ease of Half-Life 2's shooting mechanics but with all those lovely RPG add-ons and an inventory and leveling system. A huge world to explore, but the indoor missions being linear and well-designed to guide you along the way in the story, with great vistas, visual cues and cinematics. Great dialogue and moral-choice system that effects the way you play reminiscent to the one in The Witcher where all the choices are shades of grey. Finally, a great emotional ending that gives a sense of closure and accomplishment. Strictly singleplayer-only with no multiplayer components.

If all this was in one game, nothing else could ever possibly live up to it for me.

All in favour for Timesplitters?
but it must have bots dammit BOTS
I miss bots. Sometimes I don't want to get killed from across the level by a 12 year old American who then calls me a gay-fag-head over xbox live.

Sometimes I just want to give the monkey-bots rocket launchers and cackle with glee.

Is that so much to ask?

Zelda Ideas: (a)You play as Sheik and/or Zelda to infiltrate/escape Ganon's clutches. (b) You play as the 4 Swords Links but in a 3D console game (like Twilight Princess).

Pokemon Ideas: An MMO is the next step this series needs.

Mario:(a) A game where you play as Bowser to kidnap Peach and defend her from her two usual rescuers. (b) Another Luigi's mansion, but with scarier ghosts.

Sonic: (a) Two short games to lul people into an idea for the third. The first being a Knuckles Treasure Hunt game, but obviously redo it so it is much better than what Sonic Adventure had (number of ways to do that). Also, make his combat more like Werehog but less stupid. (b) A Tails game that would be similar to Tails Adventure, but in 3D. A lot of various ideas I thought of for how to pull that off. (c) a Sonic 2.5D game that (like the DS handhelds) will switch to 3D for some boss battles. But, overall, combines the 3 characters into one game to use all three different styles while still having pseudo-traditional Sonic style platforming.

L4D: Stop making new games and focus on just making everything DLC. New infected? DLC. New Survivors? DLC. New Campaigns? DLC. New... um... way of saying "New"? DLC.

Other: Duke Nukem Forever, Portal 2 (which is coming out anyway), Ninja-oriented RTS, and plenty of other ideas... too many to list.

Yeah, like Deus Ex, except fun.
You sir, are clearly lacking a soul.
I only played it recently after buying it on Steam, and due to not being blinded by nostalgia I realized how dated, clunky and unintuitive the gameplay was... As I said somewhere else on this forum, if Deus Ex was never released but instead came out today with modern graphics, but the same gameplay, it would NOT be well received. Hell, it would be branded as a mediocre game at best and rightly so in my honest opinion. I'm sure it was great at it's time but these days it just doesn't hold a candle to any of the good games... I'm honestly wondering whether it's legions of fans on the internet have even tried playing the game recently or if they're just living in the past. But that's just my opinion; I'm not going to say people can't enjoy the game these days, that would be stupid, but I do think a lot of people who worship it are simply nostalgic... Each to their own though, but I would never have bought it if it wasn't for all these people telling me how amazing the game was and I found myself completely underwhelmed. At least it was only $10 :)

But then again, I firmly believe very few of those 'classic' games everyone gushes about are still fun these days since I've been spoiled by the modern innovations in gameplay mechanics. Even I realize that my favorite games from the 90s are trash these days, I won't let nostalgia cloud my judgment.

A 3D River City Ransom game.
Sequels for Impossible Creatures and Age of Mythology.
Xbox 360 Timesplitters.

Plenty more, but these are major ones.
