Fallout 3 gives you exactly what you say you want: something entirely different. It is a sequel and it is as good as the original two Fallouts.Axolotl said:You know, I honestly forgot about that.trooper6 said:In case you really didn't know, there has been a sequel to Fallout 2, called Fallout 3 by Bethesda.Axolotl said:Fallout 2
That's the only one I can think of. Generally I dislike sequels because I already have the original game and if I want to play that then I'll play that, I don't want another game that gives me the same thing.
Besides it's not really a sequel because it has different gameplay, different design philosophy, different setting and different characters.
So very much this. I'd prefer it not to be a direct sequel (though that could be a lot of fun), but in the same setting. If a company were to announce a Vampire: The Masquerade game I'd preorder it right away.psicat said:perhaps Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.
Okami's sequel Okamiden (it's on the DS) just recently came out.kortin said:So I was recently going through my game collection and I came across an old game that I used to play back before the ps3 came out. It was called Dark Cloud 2. I remember reading somewhere about a Dark Cloud 3 coming out, but that was way back and I haven't heard anything about one since. Other games I would like to see have at least 1 more sequel:
Darksiders (not sure if there is or isn't going to be one, so I put it on here)
Fate (No more xpacs!)
Okami
Mark of Kri
Bard's Tale
So, fellow escapists, how about you?
(also, very sorry if there was already a topic like this)
I really enjoyed KOTOR 2, despite it's flaws. I thought it was a really good middle game (let down badly in some places, but overall) that set the scene perfectly for an epic concluding third installment.Don said:OT: KOTOR - KOTOR 2 didn't do it justice because of the glaringly unfinished state of the game; still I enjoyed it, just not as much as I could have. That said, KOTOR 2 kinda should have had a sequel to explain what happens next...
Really though, KOTOR didn't need a sequel; the plot was concluded; a sequel should have either been a prequel, explaining why the events of KOTOR 1 happened or alternatively set much later with less connection to the first.
Ok maybe there's one game that I'd like to see a sequel to.PPB said:A proper KotOR 3 would be nice. SWTOR looks like it might blur the lines between traditional RPG and MMO, and I look forward to exploring a larger world, but I doubt the storyline and characters will really hold up compared to what a true single player RPG can pull off.
About time someone said Anachronox.psicat said:Anachronox, Alan Wake, Halo 3, and perhaps Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines.
Ninja'd. But I'd like to add that it be more hack'n'slash and less RTS. The first half of the game was awesome, but once you did the first stage battle, it seemed to be all stage battles and escort missions to the next stage battle after that. Or at least add more into it between the stage battles...Trogdor1138 said:BRUTAL LEGEND
It wasn't the best game ever (though I liked it a lot) but it had so much potential and deserved one, something I rarely think about other games that receive sequels.
I can think of others, but if I had to pick one I would pick that.
I didn't mind the stage battles after I got used to them, but they did a poor job teaching it to you and the controls didn't feel right. So I wish them to stay if they were implemented really well and have plenty of variety for other things, especially the hacking which is what you did most of the time anyway.Assassin Xaero said:Ninja'd.
