Frankly, I'd just love to see Yahtzee's videogame ideas become a reality. Lots of realities, actually. It would make all our days if he got to lead some sort of "Yahtzee Games" indie developer and they started popping up. The horror title with the camera eyes, the puppies in Hell, the flight suit, the superhero game, Papers Please... in Hell. There were some really good ones. Oooh! Let's not forget that one about "The Santa Claus" Grim Reaper!

One game I would like to see that will never happen is a 40k game where you are the Princeps of a Titan, Warhammer 40,000: Titanicus or something like that. I would want a very technical and fluffy game rather than simple balls to the wall action

Where you would get to command the Titan from the bridge and play using some direct control and by giving orders, I would want the gameplay tactical rather than just a mech shooter. Think more along the lines of Star Trek: Bridge Commander instead of Mechwarrior, the view of the battlefield would be the same one of the crew would have rather than a 3rd person perspective looking "over the shoulder" of the Titan or a first person view looking out of the cockpit. The view would be the cockpit, you would need to use the sensors and cameras of the Titan itself. Battlefield data would show allied units and detected enemy units as well as any orbital reconnaissance, you would also have command of the Titan Legions supporting infantry the Skitarii giving it a slight RTS element. Combat would be very technical and not just blasting away, solid rounds and missiles would be finite and energy weapons limited by the reactors output. So would shields and movement, you could order the Techpriest Enginseer to compromise between one function or another and damage would have effects on the systems rather than just depleting a HP bar. Collateral damage is something you need to avoid, stomping all over the Imperial Guard would be a hazard a player would need to be aware of.

Any story would work, no need to have anything too fancy as all it needs to do is provide the backstory for a campaign of different scenarios. Instead of the player taking the role of a single protagonist though have several that the player takes the part of so you can see the campaign from various perspectives and get to command several classes and variants of Titan. Its a geeky/nerdy game so starting the game as a rookie Warhound Princeps and being First Princeps of an Imperator by the end of it is out, it takes decades and centuries for a Princeps to move up the ranks and command the larger engines so having several player characters and perspectives makes more sense.

A game like this would never get made though, a Titan game is unlikely enough let alone a technical strategy game. A 40k Titan game would be like Chromehounds or if we were lucky and like Mechassault if we were not, a Chromehounds/Mechwarrior game wouldn't be bad though but its not the 40k Titan game I would really like to see.

I'd kinda like a Vanquish inspired Black Lagoon action game, one where you can choose different jobs to take on. Haven't thought about it too much. A sequel to God Hand would be nice.

I always thought a great idea for a game would be a final fantasy style game with the huge story and random encounters but instead of turn based combat jump into a fighting game set up like DOA or street fighter.

soul calibur had something similar in 3 it was chronicles of the sword mode. something I desperately want to have brought back for newer SC games

A good Superman game and a better Deadpool game then what we actually got would make me die happy.

A Devil May Cry with the old combat system, and classic Dante returning for a direct sequel after 4.

An Attack on Titan game, in other words a fast paced Shadow of the Colossus.

And a Metal Gear game where we get to play as.... The Boss. (Who doesn't want this? The idea is golden)
We're desperately waiting Kojima, hurry up and finish 5 please.

I'm aching to see a proper Castlevania game again i have this thought that the Dark Souls team could do wonders for a game like this. Basically Dark Souls with Castlevania music and art style. A 2D style game would also be cool, really just anything Castlevania related, i'd hate to see the series die out, doesn't seem right that the last game should be a fighting game.

Yes I'm aware of Red Dead Revolver. I'm also aware that it's not about a freed slave. You'll notice there was more to my post than "A Red Dead game set before Redemption".

OT = Some awesome ideas in this thread guys.

Well, for sequels...

KotOR 3
Bastion 2
Psychonauts 2
Pokemon MMORPG
Sonic 4: Episode 3 (pity they stopped after Episode 2. They were just starting to go in the right direction too!)
One more Skyrim DLC, this one wrapping up that Thalmor thing.

For new IP's...Eh, too tired to think of any. Maybe later.

I want an RPG where you play as a Kaiju and the overworld is the entire world. It would be kind of like the cheesy world of Toho where all the monsters have a completely different style and origin story, and there's a global defense force with their little tanks and jet planes as well as their giant fighting robots. So you have to manage your relations with the people of Earth as well as all the other Kaiju.

Say you need some kind of unobtanium, but it's right in the middle of Sydney. So you go in, smash over a few buildings and take what you want. The GDF fight back, but they're small units aren't that much of a threat and you take them out with ease. Just for the hell of it, you leave by stomping on the Opera House and walking straight through the Harbor Bridge, leaving the humans mightily pissed off.

So later, you get in a fight with 'Gigazard' in the middle of the Baltic Sea for whatever reason, who you are a bit more powerful than, so you're pretty confident you can win. But what's this? The nearby battleships are firing on you and ignoring Gigazard! Because you destroyed so much in the past, the GDF have labeled you as the bigger threat. Gigazard helped defend Tokyo for the last few years, so they're actually trying to save him, and now that you're also up against an evenly matched oponent, their little fly swatter guns might just tip the scales. Heavily wounded, you are forced into retreat.

And then when Roboshark bursts out of the waves it all goes to heck.

A game where you play as a Wehrmacht solider. Bear with me here this is not an anti semitic conversation. I am not talking about a game where you play as an SS member, i would like a game in the same vain of spec-ops the line, a psychological story talking about the moral, ethical, and emotional hurdles a career solider would go through knowing they are in service to a tyrant. I think such a game would do a service to the fact that at the end of the day a lot of the German solders were simply doing their duty, like any solider would. It would show a side of the war that you never see in any WW2 video games, a side that everyone likes to forget happened when it really should not be forgotten.

I would also like a WW1 FPS at some point as well even though such a thing would not be that exciting.

I'd like to see more of the Super Robot Wars games get official english releases, as it stands now, unless I want to learn to read japanese there are only 3 games in that series in english, two on the GBA, which I played, and a spin off on the DS, which I own.

I'd also like to see more games where you play as the bad guy.
I don't mean you play as an anti-hero that uses bad guy methods, I mean you are sraight up the damn villian and depending on how the final battle with the heroes goes, you get one of two endings, the typical good guys winning ending, or you, beating the heroes and taking over the world or whatever.

I don't know how well it'd actually sell, but take this as an example. Imagine if in FF6, instead of playing as Terra, Locke, Celes and the gang, you played as Kefka.

This is going to sound like a lie, but ever since I played Blast Corps on N64 (3D environment, whole purpose is to destroy buildings) I figured it was a decent starting point for a 3D Rampage.

Let's hope your vision will one day become reality.

How about a game where you play as an agent of some "SPC Foundation" like initiative that capture and contain weird and dangerous supernatural creatures and artefacts. You'd be sent into huge sandbox world, you start off finding and neutralizing smaller or less dangerous stuff first with limited tools, also parts of the sandbox map can't be accessed yet and not all the creatures/artefacts can be contained from the get go, you gotta contain/neutralize a certain number then your superiors upgrade your gear allowing you to take on more dangerous creatures and also access parts of the map you couldn't. Throughout the whole game you'll encounter all sorts of things including creatures that stalk you constantly and even artefacts that can alter your physical form which can either be beneficial or deadly.

Some neato gameplay ideas can involve stuff like setting up surveillance cameras around and you leave them to record and when you review the videos and send em back to HQ, if lets say you spotted a creature you don't have catalogued , HQ might tell you to pursue it or avoid it if its too strong for you to take on.
You'd have to survive by yourself, finding equipment and provisions out in the map (picture the map as one of those coastal mountain city areas, where you have some woods, hilly areas, urban areas etc.), sometimes HQ can't send you provision restocks so you gotta scavenge to survive. Sometimes your gear might break or malfunction and before you can get a replacement you gotta make a makeshift replacement from items in the field.

In terms of creatures/artefacts you encounter they can range from cryptid like animals, odd items made of suspicious materials, it can even go straight up eerie/horror and have you encounter cursed areas that you have to mark off and the organization sends backup to seal it off, or even creatures so vile and dangerous that you gotta put em down (which will be no easy task).

Basically some form of sandbox investigation actiony survival thriller game... or does one already exist?

I want an open world survival horror game. Here is what I want to see.

1. You start out at your house, which looks like it has been through a fire.
2. You come to find out that your daughter is a ghost, pretty early in the game.
3. Since she can't be killed, you can use her as a kind of alarm system when bad guys are around.
4. She will also talk to you while you walk around, giving you some insight as to what's going on.
5. You can literally go into any building you want.
6. Enemies have random starting points when ever you enter a new area. Once you are in that area, the monsters are now free to move around.
7. When you are outside, it's the same way.

The A-team with a similar idea towards planning missions and character switching GTA V is going to offer. i know the character traits are fairly similar. Micheal is basically hannibal, trevor is murdoch (hes even the pilot of the group) and franklin is BA barracus the driver and most physically dominant of the trio.

however an actual licensed A-team game using these mechanics would be something special
Sounds good. I'd also throw in a few of the mechanics from Payday 2.
This sounds like a plan, it needs the original actors to do the voices (i think they are all alive except peppard?) Hannibal's voice can be done by liam neeson i dont mind. To be honest id be happy with the remake cast if its not possible to get original actors on board

loads of potential for some really wacky over the top missions and like you said if it had payday 2 style planning mechanics and GTA V character switching then it could be amazing. hopefully if GTA V pulls it off well the character switching thing could catch on and games like this could become a reality (perhaps not a licensed A-team game but something along those lines)
interesting idea. while there are lots of explosions and gunplay no one ever gets killed as well. you could do it very much rpg style with skills for disguise, not to mention needing to do alot of planing to making it all come together
As well as the gunplay and explosions a lot of jeeps need to flip over but it cuts to the same animation every time (kids these days wont appreciate that as take special effects for granted). Not to mention it needs loads of silly humour, a cabbage gun and the original badass theme tune

i kinda agree with the RPG elements but certain skills should be character specific eg disguise should be limited pretty much to face, flying should be limited to murdoch and driving should mostly be BA. That way the player has to utilise all the characters together rather than just maxing BA's skill on everything and just using him for every mission. kinda like how you have different class roles in other games
