I'll go with the big one and say Modern Warfare 2.

Yeah, it's an imbalanced piece of shit, but it's a fun imbalanced piece of shit. It does not deserve any of the hate it gets. In fact, it's one of the few games where I am convinced it gets hate because of it's popularity.

It's the highest selling game in the world for a reason. Because it does what it does best.

Well won't forgive Far cry 2 since i almost threw a keyboard out 'cus these outpost i just cleared suddenly was filled again and i died Did Not Like The Least (for the 30 time, you'd think I learned by then..) and what was it with the everyone wants you dead always...?

leaning towards some of the issues in Psychonauts (PC-version) love it but yeaa some big flaws in there, Portal 2 not by far long enough but by God i still love it.. CoD MW (1&2) yea even though the annoying people playing it still some part of me loved them..

edit: o yea KoTOR 2 very good but, yea some (ehm minor) issues there....

Mirror's Edge.

I can forgive the crappy story, boring characters, frequently retarded level design, unnecessary fights and unbalanced combat system.

Why?

Because of awesome visual design and some of the most intense escape sequences I've ever encountered in gaming.

I didn't forgive it at the time but in retrospect the time trials of Mirror's Edge were one of the last great challenges I had in gaming. And when you pulled off some of the more amazing runs it was a terrific feeling. It'd be great if you could make custom maps/download other peoples. and just find interesting routes. It'd be the best use of the engine, because the fighting in the game was dreadful.

Two Worlds 2. Is it as good as Dragon Age: Origins or The Elder Scrolls? FUCK NO! But is it fun to play? I think so. Plus it does spellcrafting, lockpicking and, alchemy better than any other game I've seen yet.

So...that.
Congratulations on having a new favorite Bioware game! KOTOR 2 was Obsidian's work.
OP: You have some major problems Record of Agarest War, but I still love you.

I was always surprised they didn't do more with the possibilities of user generated content with Mirrors Edge. I guess once the writing was on the wall the interest in making the most of it just drifted away. Real shame, could have been something amazing in the end... mind you that is kinda the type of game I was after with this thread ;)

Good to hear some interesting views on Dragon Age 2 as well - I'm more tempted by it now than I was after seeing the initial reaction.

Farcry 2.
It has so many flaws but I still love it to death.
Same I'm playing it now.
But I don't see too many flaws apart from the respawning checkpoints.

Dragon Age 2. Not as good as Origins in terms of story, characters, the plot wheel and overall longevity, but I still loved. I agree with many of the criticisms, but I still thought that it was a very good game.
the strange thing about DA 2 is that there are many criticisms to be made about this, and that, but when you're done nitpicking and back up a bit, it's still bloody brilliant!

Captcha: johansson rvicyc? what now? Lord Inglip is proabably a bit drunk.

Tony Hawk's Underground. Despite being short, repetitive and brutally hard on most difficulty settings, that was my favourite game I had for my PS2.
... what? It really wasn't any of those? Short, compared to Underground 2? Seriously? Underground 2 took me a whole 45 minutes to beat. Only time it was hard was towards the end (back in Jersey) on the hardest difficulty.

OT: BioShock 2, FEAR 2, and pretty much any game that realizes fun comes before everything.

Mega Man X8. The character's movements feel kind of clunky, Zero's special moves kind of suck compared to the moves he had in previous games (mainly because they're way too slow), you spend way too long staring at a loadscreen/menu every time you lose all of your lives on a level, and I liked X's charged shots better in the previous games.

In earlier games, fully charged shots were reasonably powerful and took reasonably long to charge, and rapid fire uncharged shots were still good against normal enemies. But in X8, charged shots take forever to charge, and they're these giant "take up half the screen and kill pretty much anything in its path that isn't a midboss/boss" waves of death. And you need fully charged shots to break enemy barriers. Not to mention your normal shots fly over the heads of the hard hat guys.

Still the most awesome game in the series, seeing as how the levels themselves actually put up a decent fight (I'm one of the 5 people that actually LIKE Burn Rooster's "ZOMG SPIKES EVERYWHERE" stage), the boss fights are the hardest in the series, and I like the tag-team action.

Soulstorm for Warhammer 40k DoW. It was so cheesy and took many liberties with the tabletop rules, but i just loved the Sisters of Battle and their completely ridiculous and fanatic one liners.

Dear god, that game's myriad issues are only surpassed by it's incredible successes. If only they'd been able to finish it, it might've been our citizen kane, as it stands it is merely superb.
