Portal. I don't hate it, but I tried to play the first one, and I was just so bored that I couldn't finish it. Glados' "humorous" dialogue sounded like something my spaz of a brother would say. I didn't laugh once.
I don't know if you ever saw the Prepare to Die cover...Infernai said:I ultimately do think these guys could make a good berserk game if they refined everything a bit more.
This. Couldn't have said it much better myself.Christopher Fisher said:I am kind of tired about how every acts like Dark Souls was the most difficult game ever created. It had its moments, but after a few hours of playing the game and getting used to its style, it rarely was ever that particularly challenging. It was really just a game that involved some trial and error, which I realize is rare nowadays, but that doesn't make it the crazy difficult game that people make it out to be.
Seriously? Your comparison for good story writing is Chris Avellone? Fucking seriously? Obsidian can't write an actually interesting story to save its ass.fi6eka said:but Bio Is never gonna beat Chris Avellone & Co.
I'm not a big fan of Avellone/Obsidian either, however I think it's hard to argue that Planescape Torment was anything less than pretty damn good in the writing department.Saviordd1 said:Seriously? KOTOR2 at the very least had some interesting ideas and a couple of cool characters.
I've heard Mask of the Betrayer is good too.
On the other hand, one could argue that Obsidian has essentially been coasting along on the mommentum of past glories for quite a few years now. It's been a long time since they produced anything worthy of note.
And now I'm going to flee before I get involved the forum hatchet fight that this will likely turn into.
Never saw the prepare to die cover as i got it for X-box but now that i have....Casual Shinji said:I don't know if you ever saw the Prepare to Die cover...Infernai said:I ultimately do think these guys could make a good berserk game if they refined everything a bit more.

Going by your Avatar its very hard to NOT see the obvious bias and fanboyism involved, sorry but thats pretty much fact. Since you mentioned Baldur's Gate i figured i'd point out that Black Isle also had a bit of a hand in making those games, as they are credited for working on it, Bioware didnt do that themselves, and in case you forgot, Obsidian is effectively formerly Black Isle.Saviordd1 said:It always turns into a one sided thing is my problemZhukov said:I'm not a big fan of Avellone/Obsidian either, however I think it's hard to argue that Planescape Torment was anything less than pretty damn good in the writing department.Saviordd1 said:Seriously? Obsidian is allowed to remember the games it made a decade ago but Bioware is only allowed to remember Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2, not the greats like Jade Empire or Baldurs Gate.

I'm sick of games being compared to it and I'm sick of hearing about their yearly instalments. I'm stick of hearing about new map packs and everything else to do with the game.
That's why I said disease instead of addiction.aguspal said:Oh WOW.Nazulu said:That's the only series I'm sick of hearing about. Althougt I love the COD series, this post is just hilarious.
I mean, this one part: "...And the worst part is hearing my brother playing it all the time and complaining how broken it is."
LOL, if he complains so much about how broken it is then why he still plays it? Again, just LOL
Well, it's sort of aimed more at Captain Walker, as technically, you are not supposed to enjoy the things you do playing as him.ShadowRatchet92 said:The combat was O.K, but the cover system was annoying and the weapons sounded weak. Oh, and the story, It was so annoying when ever the game kept having it's moment of saying "YOU'RE A MONSTER! LOOK AT YOU! YOU'RE A FUCKING MONSTER!"
You do realize you didn't have to kill those particular civilians.ShadowRatchet92 said:when ever I had to make a choice of some sorts that had someone dying, and then went back to make me kill more people.
That is the point, it's a criticism/deconstruction of games you enjoy.ShadowRatchet92 said:I know people are gonna say "well that's the point,"
Poor execution? The game is not supposed to be "fun". The things the character does are atrocious, and if the player is enjoying himself, that means that the player is a psychopath.ShadowRatchet92 said:doesn't excuse it for poor execution.
I'm sorry, I have to say the most pretentious game ever is Braid, with Dear Ester a runner up.ShadowRatchet92 said:Spec Ops: The Line is the most pretentious game ever made and it's fans are equal pretentious
