If a game doesn't good in the (roughly) four hours that I give each game to convince me to play it, I'm not going to finish it, it's that simple.

I gave Minecraft another go a bit ago. Still bored the hell out of me.

Hopefully when the final version gets released it'll be fun.

I gave TF2 a second chance some months back. Glad i did, it's kinda fun.
Only got the orange box for half life and portal. I'd heard a lot of people chat about TF2 but when i tried playing it, i was confused at what was going on, so i put it away again :(

I gave the RTS genre another chance. Always interesting to watch people play it but my early attempts at C&C was hard. Starcraft II came out and everyone was like "OMG" so i thought i'd give it a go. I'm enjoying it so far :D but a new vehicle after every mission is still a lot to process. Not to mention upgrades :S

Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen

The first time I played it I didn't have a FAQ or a manual or anything and I was really unprepared for the depth of the game. I missed most of the special characters and didn't properly develop the ones I had. The game got boring and I quit after level 8 or so.

This time I've gone to gamefaqs and I'm finding the game to be a lot more fun. I highly recommend getting all 18 special characters. It adds spice.
I absolutely love that f*cking game. I love it so hard, it hurts. Been through it at least six times on three different gaming systems...

*ahem*
on topic:
I've been thinking about giving Final Fantasy 10 another try. I've beaten 1-9 (though 3 <the one that only came out in the US later on DS, not 6>, 8, and 9 took a bit of suffering through), but I gave up early on 10. The whole thing just seemed horrifically uninspired, right from the beginning... and I absolutely hated blitzball.

FFXIII. Let me say this; I didn't hate FFXIII. I didn't have that strong of a reaction to it. The most I could say about it was that it was okay, mostly because I think I was so confused by it that I didn't get it. I didn't get why the mechanics had changed so much from previous games, or why it was stopping constantly for cinematics. I didn't get what was going on, since it seemed like the constant flashes to the backstory were impossible to follow, so I had no connection to the game or story. However, by the time I stopped playing, I could see that it was starting to get better. I don't see the harm in at least trying to see this game through fresh eyes, since it will probably be less jarring now that I know what to expect.
You and me both on Final Fantasy XIII. Just started playing it again and it feels so much better and more fun after nothing but multiplayer games for a good 3-5 months straight. I am enjoying it a lot more than I did before. It certainly does get better the farther you go into it. Mostly after Hope stops moaning and crying finally is when it starts to slowly get its shine.
