Games you're tired of hearing praise for?

Not really praise of a specific game as such but whenever someone mentions some obscure game, usually japanese with a title unpronounceable with an english tongue and the hipster/non-conformist crowd take it in turns to bend over and offer their ass to it because it isn't "mainstream"

Those people and the games can go die in a fire.

Mainstream is apparently bad... for some reason.

Seriously I don't know why people complain about what they call "mainstream" games. Stuff is popular for a reason.

And advertising. Or is that also included in the concept of marketing?

Also...why do people presume that popular equals good? It's like presuming the majority is always right...no matter what it does. Before you know it you'll be making obscene hand gestures...screaming "Heil [insert demagogue name here]" at the top of your lungs.

I am about to go crazy with all the hate on 3D Sonic games. Sure, Sonic 2006 was shitty, and Sonic Unleashed was blatantly ripping off God of War, but have you ever played Sonic and the Secret Rings? It was what Sonic 2006 wasn't: a next generation Sonic Adventure. Now stop mindlessly criticizing something because its different.

Portal.

Don't get me wrong, I like Portal. It's a fun game, but I don't think it's the masterpiece everyone says it is. Most of the puzzles felt too restrictive in how they could be solved. Moreover, I found the humor merely amusing, not side-splitting hilarious. Finally, everyone needs to stop with "the cake is a lie" jokes. It wasn't even that funny the first time around.

Ehh Portal, Half life 2, I might be coming across as a bit of a hater, but I'm not, I just don't think they're that great.

Bioshock. Its boring. Sure I did get shocked by the twist but the combat made dulled. Half of it felt stapled on.

Bioshock 2 was better in every way. I say that proudly.

Oblivion- MASSIVE WASTE OF TIME. I decided to get it because all I heard was praise. 10 hours in and I have no clue what's going on, bored of wandering through Lincolnshire and annoyed by how rubbish the levelling system is.

Portal- Its OK.

Mario in general- Never played one I enjoyed.

Has to be Chrono Trigger. I can't turn for 30-year-old men gushing about how this game stopped them from committing suicide. The game is paper-thin in every aspect, and the menu interface is awkward at best.
