Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. cost was pretty steep, but it was so worth it.
Same here, although I only got it for $15 i had to keep tabs on 3 local game stores for 4 weeks before they got a used copy.

Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 (and Yuri's Revenge)
This was a few years ago, before any of my family was into buying online. I remember checking absolutely every game retailer I could find, even supermarkets, with my parents trying to find both of these games. I believe we also tried a computer hardware store and a car boot sale sort of market.

Alas, I managed to borrow C&C:RA2 off of a friend, but to this day I have still not owned Yuri's Revenge (I played it once when I was younger, but since my ventures to find it, I've never owned it). Shame, since I really liked both of those games.

Kula World. Took me years of searching. Even then it was the only second hand game I've ever bought.

Throne of Darkness on the PC, I had to order it in from an interstate retail shop since it was apparently the only copy left in this hemisphere.

The hardest ones for me to track down were Legacy of Kain Blood Omen on the PC, at the time of looking I already had it on the PSOne but wanted the PC version for quicker loading times, this was when the game was selling for around £55 second hand.

I eventually tracked it down in a cash converters for the grand sum of £2

Another was Revenant also for the PC it took me 2 years to tack that down.

Oddly enough I had a copy of Tombi on the PSone with no difficulty, I have since sold it though and kind of regret that now because it was sold to a game store for about £8.

Dragonball GT: Final Bout, for Playstation.
This game was so hard to find, you would have had a better chance selling Air to fish than getting hold of a working copy.
Now it can be found for $12 on Amazon... stupid '90s obsession with all things Dragonball...

And recently, MegaMan Zero Collection for Nintendo DS. No game store within a fifty mile radius had it so I finally broke down and bought it online.

yep, have you ever wanted a game so badly, that you would search up and down for it? And what game/s was it?

i don't actually have any personal experiences, i just wanted to hear all your stories.
Beasts and bumpkins i belive it wasent a real game and i just dreamed it up. (even though theres screen shots on google).
Haha I remember having a demo of that game on one of those old 20demo's a disk disks.

Anyway, for me; PC version of Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen. I got hooked to Legacy of Kain when Soul Reaver got ported to PC and got interested by the story so had to play all episodes, didn't have a ps1 though. Think itt'l be on PSN soon? (Never found it)

I know Silent Hill is availiable on PSN, then again if you want an actual copy of the game there's always Ebay, lots on there.

OT: I had quite the time tracking down a simple copy of Timesplitter's Future Perfect for PS2. There are 5 different places that sell games in my nearest town and not one of them had a single copy! Oh no, that's a lie, one did have a copy. But when I went to pay for it they couldn't find the disc! Argh!

It's on the US store along with Soul Reaver. If you aren't in the US you can still get them with a US account and a US PSN card.

I spent about 1 month looking for, of all games, assassins creed,I don't know What I was thinking or why I had such a hard time finding it, it's in stores all over the place now. So I got home played it, and you know what? It wasn't good.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn,

I had this massive urge to play it again last year, and my old cd's had all been scratched over the years so they wouldn't work. I went to all the game stores in the city and I couldn't find it anywhere. Of course it had stopped production years ago, so I finally found the 4 games in 1 set on ebay for only $10. SCORE!

Majora's Mask, which I eventually found at an EB Games store out in the middle of nowhere. Coincidently two or so years later, I also found a copy of Golden Sun at the same place.

Other than that, all the other games I've had a hard time finding were from the Fire Emblem series. I got my parents to grab me a copy of Sacred Stones while they were overseas. I spent a good six months looking for Path of Radiance, but settled for a second hand copy from Ebay. I managed to nab Radiant Dawn after calling up a lot of EB Games stores and eventually found it at a place 2 hours or so away from me.
