The original Starfox. I can't beat that no matter how hard I try.

Chrono Trigger. I've spent countless hours on it, just to get to Lavos and have my game crash and erase my save. Twice.

The Darkness. Loved the comic, but the game was too boring.

Folklore. I need to set aside a weekend to finish it.

Valkyria Chronicles. Same reason with Folklore.

Every single Resident Evil game except the first two.

Every single Zelda game except Wind Waker.

Every single Mega Man game except the first Battle Network. Time to fire up my emulators.

RPGs in general--because once you go to the final bossfight, what's the point? So I usually just end up hunting for all the side quests and then not finishing.

I responded to a thread EXACTLY like this one like a week ago...
a subtle way of saying use the search bar?(some people like to see the threads reviatlized and if you bump it with a response that one wouldve been instantly burried once more. and i kick myself for never finishing bioshock i accidently saved as i was dieing and it wasnt backed up so... i wouldve had to start over and i had just killed andrew. and i just couldnt be bothered to go through all of it again.

Final Fantasy X, X-2 and XII. Simnply because although they're all great games, I usually get to a point in them, then something comes up and that, coupled with my lower lkevels than I should be at (I hate grinding) mean I put it away for ages, then when I come to the game again I have to start again since I've forgotten half the story. Plus, the end bosses of X and X-2 are damn tough (I gave up on Braska's Final Aeon Form 2 in X and the Magus Sisters in X-2)...

The newest Prince of Persia.

Got about 3 hours into it, then got really bored.
Ah, I played a demo of that, and decided I was never going to play it again simply because I didn't like the control system. I played Assassin's Creed and loved the free-running system there, but in PoP it just seemed a lot more awkward and less streamlined to me. Hence I put it down and never played it again.

Luckily I borrowed it from a friend, rather than buying it. Otherwise, I would have returned it the next day.

Doom 3 - never even got to hell, just got so boring. OMG there's a wall and stuff jumps out. OMG there's stairs and stuff jumps out. I was 200x more enertained by watching myself having my legs chopped off, etc. in Quake IV.

Assassin's Creed - The repetitive minigames and a half-assed story that just didn't draw me in.

Red Alert 3 - Corrupted saves caused it to crash on all 3 factions and couldn't bring myself to go through the stories again after trying a reinstall.

Fable - I'm not really sure why this one didn't hold my attention at all. *shrug*

Overlord - The repetative puzzles and less then ideal minion control just frustrated the crap out of me until it just wasn't fun anymore.

and probably half a dozen others that I can't even remember anymore.

The new PoP was ok, but i finished it in 2 days, so it was very short, and quite often the controls were annoying, not to mention the CONSTANT trial and error. Plus you have to pay for the endingof the game, how lame...

Final Fantasy 6
Final Fantasy 9
Final Fantasy 10

I love Final Fantasy but I got distracted with those three and never went back to them... though I didn't like 10.

This ones been done before, but just because it bears repeating: PRINCE OF PERSIA FOR THE PS2 BECAUSE OF THE LIGHT MIRROR LEVEL. MY GOD WHY WAS THAT SO DAMN CONFUSING!?
... The light mirror bit? I can't remember spend much time on it, but I might be thinking of the wrong puzzle. (That was the one not too long after/before you get that one-hit kill sword, right?)

*two cents* Battle system plays like an over-simplified fighting game in my opinion.

And, to finally answer the question: There aren't many games I haven't beaten without at least thinking of beating it in the future when my gaming hand has matured, but I guess the game that will stay out of my reach is my first FPS, Prime Target. (If you've never heard of it, trust me, you're not alone.) I'll never beat it mainly because the only machine I think it'll work on in this house is broken and I'm way too lazy to get such junk fixed.

Far Cry 2, so repetetive and annoying. Respawns in single player games should NEVER happen.
