Sorry, I may misunderstand, and if I do, then I apologize, but your ideas to end sequels... are more sequels?
and it's not really true with that "endless sequels" and "monotony". We've got Mass Effect 3, which Bioware has confirmed and been working toward since the first game. We've got Planetside 2 coming out, which is in no way a sequel. Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls, but like any other, it's not really a sequel so much another story in the universe. Reach was not a sequel, and merely expanded an area of the universe that provided some confusion to fans. Battlefield 3 is a completely stand-alone story, just like EVERY Battlefield game besides Bad Company.
I'll give you Modern Warfare 3 and Arkham City, those are actual sequels, but Modern Warfare had an interesting campaign, which made it harder for me to hate it (until I tried the online), and, from what I understand, Batman was a fun game, even if it didn't expand the gameplay that much.
Again, if I misunderstood you, I'm sorry, but I still stand by my second paragraph completely.
