Hmmm. Bunch of them were already mentioned (Baldur's Gate 3, KOTOR 3, Jedi Knight sequel, Syphon filter, Medievil, Psychonauts 2, Grim Fandango) but I'd like to add

-Full Throttle sequel
-Indiana Jones or similar (Flight of the Amazon queen anyone?) adventure game
-something along the lines of Icewind Dale
-one of the old school Tony Hawk games (made redundant by announcement of THPS HD)
-Vampire the Masquerade sequel
-Ape Escape sequel
-Tenchu sequel

There, some of the things I'd like to see, I probably forgot many more. However I understand there are a lot of licensing problems when it comes to making sequels to older games so I'll remain content enjoying them the way they are. It's better than have unwilling developers forced into making a shitty fan service titles which ruin beloved franchises.

EA? I KNOW you ate Bullfrog. Let Peter make Dungeon Keeper 3. And make sure it doesn't suck like DK2 did.
\

DK2 did not suck under any circumstances? Are you drunk?

Yes you may of thought it was "bad" but it certainly did not suck.

Or were trying to be a "cool dude" and hate all sequels that aren't your precious circle-jerk of nostalgia?
No,I'm not trying to be the "Cool Dude" that hates on sequels. Dungeon Keeper 1 was a tactical game, where gold was everything, and the Horned Reaper was a concius, tactical decision with nasty reprecussions if you cocked up. Without a steady income, your creatures will abandon you,or even rebel,if you block off the portal. Without a steady income, you can't use your (very powerful) magic. Without a steady income, you can't train your creatures,or scavenge anything other than vampires. On top of all of that, there's level design. DK2's level design SUCKED. Too little space, considering the game demands rooms to be at least 5*5,instead of the old 3*3.

Dungeon Keeper 2 reduced gold to nothing more than something mundane. It turned magic into a thoughtless thing. Also, the combat slowed RIGHT down, which gets annoying quite quickly.

I still want a System Shock 3. The only thing I don't like about the previous titles is that their story ends on a cliffhanger which may never get a resolution.

Admittedly though, in general, I'd rather not see sequels. It seems like every game coming out these days is a 3 or 4 or 5 or beyond, probably more due to some person in a suit deciding it to be profitable than due to developers that actually want to tell the story. What I'd rather see are games that take place in the same universe as another game or game series, but with a new story and characters. This way you can keep all of these great IPs alive, but not drag out a single story for way longer than it really needs to be.

Not sure any of the games I have in mind would be all that profitable but that hasn't stopped anyone else from throwing out titles so here I go.

Legacy Of Kain: Great story and world, Compelling well written characters Need I say more? Oh and that game just really deserves, NO, needs and ending!

Syphon Filter: Because I want to see more Gabe Logan! >.< and with the popularity of war and espionage games right now I think Syphon Filter would be welcomed back with open arms, or at least a cup cake?
And also the nostalgia hounds would be all over this game like a fox with a steak around its neck

Tenchu: There needs to be some more stealth games out there these days. It would truly be a nice treat to finally see a true next gen Tenchu. And come on, who doesn?t like running around as a ninja on the roof tops of feudal Japan. Sneaking behind a guy and slitting his throat before he can take a bight out of his poison rice ball. Did I mention you are a ninja?

Last and of course least because it has been left in the dirt since the 90's

Killer Instinct: With the somewhat revival of the fighting genre in the past year the time is NOW to unearth KI and bring it back to relevancy and introduce it to a new generation of gamers.
Strike while the iron is hot I say. Though let?s be realistic. Rare hasn?t so much as flexed a muscle in some time.

... As much as I love the original Grim Fandango, it must NEVER be made into a sequel. It's a beautiful self-contained story that more than explored everything it possibly could have. Lucasarts could very well explore their other adventure games though and maybe stop milking the star wars franchise?

For the record though, I would gladly sell a kidney for a digitally available, windows 7 compatible, HD re-release of Grim Fandango though.

I think that if they are going to make another Tenchu game, something needs to be changed. I loved the original and enjoyed the first sequel as well. After that, however, it just started feeling stale. I wasn't so much feeling nostalgia as much as a sense that I was treading old worn out ground. I imagine it's what I would feel like playing CoD games if I had ever played a CoD game after the first one.

That said, a ninja game that actually involves stealth would certainly be welcome.

If you answered anything but Legacy of Kain, then you haven't played a Legacy of Kain or Soul Reaver game.
It'll never happen. Or rather, if it did, it wouldn't live up to the others, since the talent behind the SR series story left the company to go to Naughty Dog...

Dammit LucasArts, I'm tired of your Clone Wars and Force Unleashed titles. Stop trying to remind us about the prequels all the time. To be quite honest, we'd rather forget they even exist.

It's been well over a decade since the last X-Wing/Tie Fighter game. Strike a deal with Lawrence Holland and Edward Kilham and get to work on a new one. Hell, I'd be happy with an HD release of Tie Fighter at this point (with a remastered version of the classic iMUSE soundtrack, not that crappy Red Book version you gave the Collector's Edition).

Also, where the hell is my Viewtiful Joe 3, Capcom?! The DS version and Super Smash Bros. knock-off don't count.
Yeah Capcom, where is Viewtiful Joe? Or better yet where the hell is Onimusha, or Frikken Dino Crisis!?

Sadly all that Capcom cares about nowadays is whoring out Street Fighter DLC costumes, or a new and pricey expansion version with two new characters, than to listen to us gamers crying out for these old franchises to be given a new lease on life.

Rareware, fighting games are coming back, get your asses on Killer Instinct 3! Dooooo iiiiiit!

Monolith, you were mostly on the right track with the Condemned games. The 2nd one had something of a cliff hanger ending, if I remember it right. So uh.... how about that next one?

And.... that's all that comes to mind right now.

Oh wait, I almost forgot the constant disappointment I feel every E3 when everything but a new Star Fox game is announced. Seriously Nintendo, get on that. Keep Fox in the damn Arwing too.

Too many companies are sitting on IP's that would make GREAT games and help break up this monotony of endless sequels that's starting to wear thin on me to the point that I'm losing interest in gaming.

I was thinking of some properties that really should have gotten sequels and probably still could if these companies would just get off their butts and do it. So I ask, what would you like to see and who has some ideas for petitioning these companies in a show of community solidarity?

For me it would either be Shogo 2 or Oni 2. Both of those games originals are cherished additions to my collection to this day and it's an injustice that no sequels ever were brought forth, especially since Bungie is more than available to do something other than their next IP and HALO knockoffs.
Your idea to break up the monotony of endless sequels is to release more sequels? ...

Your problem is clearly not with sequels at all. Your problem is not getting the sequels you want.

I'd love that game to be made though. Hell, I might even be willing to play it with all those stupid extra Pokemon they added.

Maybe. God damn I hate every Pokemon >150.
I love it when people post stuff like that, because you can tell when someone is just going along with the "new Pokémon suck because they're not old" fad rather than an actual fan of the games. There were 151 original Pokémon. Might I ask what you have against Mew? Rhetorical question; I already posted the answer before I asked. ;)
I played/replayed the old Red/Blue cartridges probably 10 times each. Mew was not in either of them unless you attended an event or glitched/gamesharked. I did neither. My blue cartridge still has all 150 original Pokemon that I acquired within the unmodded game.

My dislike of the added Pokemon stems from the fact that it didn't add anything good to the series, it was just marketing. New Pokemon means new merchandise, means more shit for you to buy. And it has become grossly overdone. Seriously, 650 of them? Ridiculous.

So kindly take your judgements regarding my fan-hood and shove them :)

Front Mission - a proper one, like FM5 which never came stateside.

ActRaiser - Two great games, on the SNES, that would have made GREAT DS games.
There was an FM5!? I gave up on that series when it became a mech fighter thing with FM:Evolved.

I still own one of the ActRaiser games on my SNES but I got it when I was a child and couldn't beat the first level(pathetic, I know), I remember it being a 2d platformer/fighter but that's all I remember. I'd forgotten about it till it was mentioned here.

A new Chrono Trigger game would be nice.

Also: Battle Toads, Dungeon Keeper, Bard's Tale, Radiata Stories and Drakengard(provided the tone is closer to the first one than the second one)
