I like playing co-op with him, but he prefers playing online with his friends.
That's fine, we live together, so we can't do everything together all the time.
Sometimes he adds me in games as a guest, as I don't have a gold subscription and I'll play with him and his friends.
Fighting games are quite fun to play together. I'm a bad loser, so I'll start nipping him or calling him a one-move-Molly if I lose >__>

I've never had a problem with any boyfriend or partner about playing games. I remember lazy sundays where we'd get up at like, 11am, go and get subway for lunch and come back and play games for about 9-10 hours.

I love those kind of Sundays <3
D: I want Subway now.
I'd love to do that, but the nearest Subway is about 15 minutes away, and I usually work on Sundays >___>; Grr.

Oh nooo! But they are some of the best! You have to change your work schedule for Sunday Game Day ;) It's the ultimate.

Although mind you don't listen to me, cos my last boyfriend cheated on me and left - so obviously Sunday Game Day wasn't that grand >_>

my wife doesn't do very well with shooters, but she does like turn based RPGs, puzzle games and other stuff. she does play board games with me and my friends. so far she kicks ass in games like arkham horror, and descent.

The he is a big FAIL who missed out on a lovely girlfriend!
Just go into Games workshop with a sign that has an arrow pointing to you saying 'Girl into gaming, also single'
They'll be over you like white on rice :p

No matter how hilarious that sounds - I am actually slightly scared to do that :S
I may just wait and see what happens in the future ;) haha!

My girlfriend loves co-op shooters, mainly fps games.
The following are the ones that we had the most fun playing (starting from the best one)
- L4D2
- L4D1 (yup, we love l4d)
- Halo 3
- Gears of War 2 (she made me stay awake until 5 AM so that we could finish it that day)
- Res 5
- Army of two
- Ghost Recon (with another couple 4vs computer)

I started playing the Lego series with her (Lego Batman and Lego Indiana Jones). She liked it enough to play from time to time but since she discovered shooters and learned how to handle the controls that's the only thing she plays.

Also tried FIFA but was no good.

Depending on the game, my girlfriend joins in.

Especially if it's Burnout Paradise.

Used to love playing Smash Bros Melee, and then eventually Brawl, with my ex-girlfriend. We played other things too, but it eventually came back to those two though. She always kicked my ass too... *sigh* I really quite honestly miss those times. I miss her :(.
Anyway, not gunna derail this thread or anything, but yeah, having someone who shares and participates in your interests is truly something wonderful.
I Envy all of you who still experience these things :)!

Yeah. We recently played through pokemon silver via emulator, we both own the game anyways but easier via computer.

Also we've played a fair bit of Dynasty Warriors together. She's also rather into age of empires and the like but I'm not a huge fan. My plan is to introduce her to Reach when I get it finally. Then maybe hustle some of my unsuspecting friends.

Also bioshock, bioshock is just as scary with two of you.

I envy this. I can't find a girl gamer I am attracted to.
Give it time, as more and more social barriers are broken down the number of girls will rise. Also, say what you want about it, the wii is a great way to introduce someone to gaming so perhaps kinetic and move will results in a similar increase.

(sorry if this sounds patronising)

No, that would require a significant other. Know where I can find one?
Well there are girls on The Escapist, that doesn't mean this is a dating site though and you shouldn't really be sending naughty messages to them.

He's an avid gamer looking for a gamer chick!, he enjoys pwning noobs on the normady beaches and strategies against Zerg Rushes, Good sense of humour is a must!

Anyone else saw that Match.net advert a few years back?, if you didn't find love in 6 months they'd give you an extra 6 months for free?.

The Escapist, if you don't find love in 6 months, we'll give you canadamus_prime

I don't play co-op with my girlfriend often because with her balancing two jobs and college she never plays video games that often. We did, however, play Left 4 Dead 2 on PC at Howie's Game Shack during Summer Vacation so that's one co-op game we enjoyed together. Other than that, I never have the patience to probably let her learn a game xD

My now ex-girlfriend often said she wanted to play games with me but we never did. This was because I naturally assumed (given her basic character and the fact that she never really played games) that she was just saying this for my benefit (in the same way that I might say I'd like to go shopping with her. I don't actually want to go shopping, but I was willing to put up with it to be with her you see).

Even if she was legitimately interested, it isn't a lot of fun playing a game when there is a dramatic difference in skill between the two parties. It tends to lead to frustration.

We did once play a game. It was Super Mario Brother's 3. We had fun I suppose. Or at least I had fun.

Forget patronizing, I like the idea that when I am about 50 years old, I can get a girl half my age to play video games with. Hopefully, by that time, there will be a viagra for keeping my energy level and interest in video games up.

50? Although I have no idea how old you are I don't think you'll have to wait that long. My experience in relationships isn't extensive and I've found a few women who like video games, manga, warhammer 40k and the like. Just keep talking to women and eventually you'll find one.

Forget it. It was a joke. Yes, I am pretty old. 37, to be exact.
