The last level of Assassin's Creed.

It wasn't impossible (nor was it difficult come to think of it) but it was just annoying how they threw cannon-fodder troops at me. I can only stay interested in the crappy combat system of AC for so long.

on veteran :(
in fact, most of COD4 on veteran
I only had trouble with the timed missions, they aren't so bad as long as I can take my time.

But nooo, the game wants me to rush and get killed a hundred zillion times.

Regarding the elevator section in The Sands of Time...

I wanted to kill Farah myself, she was so annoying in those parts.
After failing the section for the twentieth time, I actually either did kill her myself or let her get killed on purpose several times. I can't remember which it was, but it was satisfying regardless.

I submit God of War's Challenge of the Gods, number 10. I don't know if it counts, since it's an optional task, but it's so goddamn hard and tear-inducing that I couldn't leave it unmentioned. Bonus rage points for having to re-do all the preceding challenges if you give up and turn off your PS2 at some point. Which you inevitably will.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory: Trying to get 100% on the Bathhouse on Expert, I swear it's impossible.

Ecco the Dolphin: Welcome to the Machine. [small]*shudders*[/small]

Sonic 3: The Carnival Nights barrel. Fans, you know the one...

Back to the Future part III: The whole goddamn game.

Sonic the Hedgehog: The ball puzzle in Dusty Desert.

Devil May Cry 3: Vergil on Dante Must Die. There's nothing worse than a boss with regenerating health.

Having to battle Elizabeth Greene in the middle of Time's Square. SO FRICKING LONG.

Not to mention, I ran out of time on my rental fighting her, so I had to return the game unfinished.

Riku in Kingdom Hearts 1. You know what I'm talking about. When Riku [spoiler/]is possessed by Ansem[/spoiler] and you can't skip the cut scenes. That was worse than the actual fight. Having to sit through that fucking cut scene a thousand goddamn times!!

Like I say in all "Worst Level" threads: The Star Destroyer level in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
oh come on it's not that hard i can do it on Sith Lord.
I am going to take a wild stab in the dark here and guess that you played on the PS3. Unfortunately, the 360 port was not all that smooth and the major complaint about the 360s version of TFU is that the targeting system is a "bit" broken.

So in said Star Destroyer mission you have to endure a broken targeting system and faulty control information. That's right, even when the ship is correctly aligned you have to jiggle it about for it to actually register as "in place" before you can "pull it down from the sky".

Forget sith lord, when the game is out to mess you up I'll take my chances on pure luck to get through that level again.

If you managed to get by that level on the first go on the 360, then you must be one of those lucky people I keep hearing about.

All of Gears 2 on insane was infuriating due to Dom's retarded AI.
I actually thought Dom's AI during the final battle in GOW 1 was at it's Uber retard levels. Somehow he must have read a few books because he wasn't as bad as that in GOW 2. Oh well....

Any final fantasy game has made me want to snap the disc in half and throw it out the window. Which is why I try to avoid them now. Of course now that I'm at the end of 9 I want to beat it and I have to fight 2 hard bosses in a row with no saves. Whats worse is I beat them both and then the PS1 wanted to be an ass hole and reset itself so now I have to do it again, only when I tried the second boss killed me instantly.

The second last boss of SO4. 2 hours to figure out I will NEVER beat him. They put the final sword in a chest I couldn't open because I didn't have the ring I needed. Ass holes. Hate that game so much.

ending of rogue galaxy you have to fight 10 bosses in row and the last killed me in one shot.

Any sewer level in any game.

I found the Meat Circus in Psychonauts pretty easy, I did those flaming walls first time!

I have to say Rayman 1 or the spinny towers in God Of War...

Ooo! How could I forget...INFERNO 2 - TRIALS HD! Nearly threw my controller at the screen!

When playing the first SSX ages ago when it first came out. I was playing on Elizyum Alp (Don't know if that's the correct spelling of it) and I really sucked at it. I was young, so I got furius and started shaking the controller up and down like if I'm using sixaxis to do some kind of super jiggle (You know what I mean) on Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2. Unfortunerally for my feet I accidently threw the controller on them, making me less than happy with the result.

The first boss battle in Prince of Persia:Sands of time. You had to keep the chick alive while fighting hordes of bad guys. After a half-hour of failure, I said screw it and cheated.
