Personal Opinion

I feel no sympathy for this moron. If he wants to paint a huge target on his damn forehead, he can go ahead. But when I watched that news video and heard him acting like the scared, innocent victim, all sympathies dissapeared. He knows what he did, he knows it was wrong, and he tries to get sympathy anyways.

I have no problem with some harassment on Xbox LIVE, depending on the type. (Such as those who play soundboards or teamkill for attention.) But the people who do this and further embarrass the poor person by plastering their Gamertag online, they deserve perma-bans from LIVE.

Again, this is all just my opinion.

OT (Summary of the above.) : Yes, I think he got something he deserved.

The guy's a douche, but a SWAT team breaking down the door is a little extreme.

Actually, this is even more extreme. Although it might be sarcasm.

Its entirely the girls fault for not leaving the match or muting the guy. Yes the guy is a complete douche but really she has no excuse or anyone to blame but herself for the messages and the harassment.
Your attitude is disgusting.
I'm sorry but thats just how I see it. If you dont want to be harassed while playing online you can mute/block the person or just leave the match, I've done it myself before. Its not like she didnt have a choice but to sit there and take it. And again I completely agree the the guy is a total tool bag who deserves a few smacks across the face, but somebody calling the police and getting SWAT involved is way over reacting to some stupid internet trolling.
Thats the thing, why is she getting harassed in the first place?

Why does she have to quit every game because there's some asshole in the lobby?, no, she bought the game and she abides by the rules of conduct, its her right not to be harassed like that. They don't abide by the rules, hence they get banned.
I'm not saying that the guy shouldnt have been banned, of course guys like him should be banned for ruining online play. But its not like she didnt have any control of the situation,

Have you read the entire story?, she was harassed on PM's which can't be muted.
MadManZac said:
instead of whining and telling him to shut up she should been the better person and just muted him.
She was the better person (and still is may I add), she's not the one being a dick to people over Xboxlive, she's trying to play a game, this cannot be said of this DJ idiot.

Trolls act like this because they want reaction from people, ignore them and they go away. I stand by what I said, calling the police and getting SWAT involved is way over reacting to some stupid internet trolling. It doesnt make anyone better then the troll, in fact IMO I think it makes you a lower level then the troll.
She ignored him, the response was for him and his buddies to get worse.

Also, what makes you think that she called the SWAT team in?, its not been confirmed who called them in, it wasn't this girl, it was someone else.

Maybe it was WingsofRedemption (the COD video uploader that this DJ guy tried to hack his account), maybe it was The Pro (the XboxLive mod who banned him), maybe it was Stepto (the Microsoft worker who banned the rest of his accounts).

So this guy pissed off a lot of people, not just this one girl, anyone of them could be behind this.
Then she should have muted him so she couldnt hear his crap.

And I never exactly said the girl called the police. Whoever it was still shouldnt have because it doesnt help in any way in making them stop harassing people. The only way to deal with trolls is to ignore them and heed them no attention in any form.

So no, I will not feel any sympathy for the girl/people who called the police nor the troll because both parties are acting equally retarded and childish.

My first impression: Oh god, what's happened now? Poor bastard.

My reaction upon reading: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Shame he didn't try to resist or anything. Anyone know if he got subjected to flashbangs or something? Pepper spray? CS Gas?
Flashbangs are used when breaching when the enemy has time to prepare. They are not used otherwise simply because they are less lethal rather than non-lethal. They can easily kill or injure people unlucky enough to be present. CS gas is generally used to break up crowds of people rather than preceding a breach attempt as it's effects, while annoying (by which I mean extreme difficulty keeping your eyes open and your lunch down.) do only diminish someone's ability to resist. The Flasbang seeks to momentarily incapacitate though a loud report (120+ dB) and a bright flash. This is not simply the "blindness" games use to mimic the effect but rather tends to result in a very short term overload of the nervous system (i.e. you will not process new sensory information for a brief period while you're body tries to figure out what the hell is going on).

Still, the prank was excessive and, strangely, entirely justified in my book.

Doesn't she know where the mute button is? Oh well, that was still pretty fucked up. If that's the kind of stuff he does with his days, then he probably deserved to get SWAT break down his door.

Guy could have easily been killed or seriously injured, or any of his family/friends in the house. SWAT can get pretty trigger happy, especially if the occupants have absolutely no clue what is going on. What if the people inside thought they were regular intruders? Flashbangs blind you and disorient you after all. Someone could have grabbed a knife out of confusion and desperation and killed on the spot.

Especially small rural area SWAT. They typically have nothing better to do than fantasize about how badass they think they are, and they almost always over-inflate a situation for their egos. This I know as a witness.

So yeah, completely irresponsible and dangerous "prank". Filing a false report of this magnitude that warranted such a heavy response, could easily be charged as a felony. Considering that SWAT no doubt caused destruction of property in their entry, and the money involved in their deployment, as well as the severe civil disruption. Yeah, it could be a very serious crime in this case.

As for "DJ Keemstar". Well, he's a real piece of shit. I can't stand people like him. If he had done something like that to my girlfriend, then I would have petitioned Microsoft to take further action, or contact my local authorities. For the simple reason that he does this all the time, he's not just some guy "having a laugh". In any other circuit, his actions would have been considered sexual harassment or even assault. It was pretty disgusting, and he does it on a daily basis apparently. I would have filed charges if I could. He needs to tone it down and/or just leave the sexual harassment out of it.

I've been exposed to CS gas (during my days in the ATC) and although it was a tiny dose, it was seriously frigging unpleasant - rather like DJ Kuntybollocks then!

The guy is a knobend and all power to someone turning his own shit against him but this could have been so much worse. For starters, wasting Police time is a crime for a very good reason and, as discliplined as SWAT teams are, all it would take is the wrong kind of gesture or body language from DJ Krapwad and he could / would have been shot.

Being humiliated for being a cock is something I approve of very highly. Having your cock blown off for being one...? That's a tad harsh!

Still - at least now his "harmless" pranks have now been revealed as something more serious, he can expect bans and I also think his missus might also want a word in his ear!

The thing I think a lot of you are forgetting is that the one video in the OP is not what caused the counter-prank. That's one example of the kind of bullshit he does everyday. Then it gets posted on youtube turning it from a one time thing into a permanent fixture. His 'crew' joins in too, and indeed anyone else that feels like being a douche through the internet.

Its not even like the people he's messed with did anything to piss him off, he just picks someone at random and then they all pile on.

Its not fucking funny. If you think it is, you're a dreadful fucking person. If you talked like that face to face then you'd end up either in hospital or in jail. But because its online you can't do a damn thing. He's repeatedly been banned and had his channels shut down, but it would seem he's just determined to continue being a prick. You could try to press charges yourself, but it's prohibitively expensive for regular people.

So when someone sends a SWAT team around, I figure that's about the only thing you could really do to try and get him to stfu. It's a pity he didn't get tazed or anything, but at least it seems he got to feel what its like to have someone for no readily apparent reason wreck your life.

You reap what you sow.

Why are people so reasonable with unreasonable people? This guy is a completely unfunny shithead who harasses people online as a fucking hobby. He absolutely deserves this level of escalation. If the worst had happened, we'd be less one douche bag AND we'd have our own little urban legend about how immature, trollish behavior on the internet just might get you killed. I'm all for both.

Maybe that's harsh, but I'm tired of placating horrible people. Perfectly good people die every single day for completely avoidable reasons, so I'm not overly concerned with an asshole getting what he absolutely deserves.

Seriously? You're like those people who argue that women who get raped "are basically asking for it if they dress that way".
Woah woah woah, who said anything about rape? Rape is always the rapist's fault, but you cannot possibly argue that there aren't at least some women who enjoy negative attention (because it's still attention).

I personally have never met such a woman on any video game multiplayer platform (which is why I strongly believe this was just a fake situation).
You're right, it's not on the same level as rape, but it's still pretty cold-hearted/ignorant to blame the woman in a case like this. Even if there are some women that enjoy negative attention, it doesn't make sexual harassment okay, and no one "deserves" to be sexually harassed just because they don't know how to use the ignore function on a game they're playing.

This. It's no wonder us "gamers" aren't taken seriously, and neither should we be until standards of respectable social behaviour improve within our community.

Either DJ Keemstar's videos are staged or that girl deserved it if she didn't think of muting him.

The content of DJ's insults are hilarious, I just wish he didn't direct them at (supposedly) unsuspecting women.
I've never really found him entertaining, his stuff is pretty childish; my barometer for Internet humour is simple - how would I react if I'd paid money to see this as a stand-up show? This guy? Yeah, I'd be demanding my money back. All he does is swear and direct disgusting comments at people, there's no art to it at all.

You want a comedian who can be twice as rank, yet ten times as funny? Frankie Boyle.

As for the raid on his house - haha, haha, haha, serves the fucker right.

I don't understand how you could get so heated for Halo like that. That girl had so many options (mute him, switch games, quit halo, don't respond, counter-troll) but no. She got butt-hurt over some words. Personally, I found the video to be lulzy. She kept the whole thing alive by trying to get him to stop which shows that she was listening and caring about what he had to say.
