Trying desperately to like Metal Gear Solid-because I'd made a new friend who was really into the series, and I'd already unwittingly insulted his favourite ever band by saying that I thought Nine Inch Nails were "boring", so I thought I should make it up to him-I agreed to play MGS2. I lasted about an hour before nearly weeping with boredom and frustration. I hate, HATE that series.

We're still mates, though. ;-)

All of Final Fantasy XII. FF I - X were really good, with a decent battle system, storyline, characters (even FF I, for it's time). I skipped XI as it was online, and would naturally be different, but my reward at the end of a long wait for Final Fantasy XII was the most disappointing thing ever.
Either that or Okami. Okami was awesome, and I resent it for eating up 250 hours of my time -_-'

Beat me to it.

I hate, hate HATE forced stealth missions with the intensity of 1,000 Suns.
but, it's a stealth game. ideally, the whole game should be forced stealth. i enjoyed that section because i actually felt like i was playing MGS3 for an hour.
What game specifically are you talking about? I was referring to any game that is primarilly a shooter that drops in, for no good reason, one level where you cannot do anything but sneak around and try to go undetected. If you have the option to that than fine, but don't let me get used to a bunch of nifty weapons and abilities then suddenly strip them away "just because".

The Wasteland Survival Guide in Fallout 3. Fucking long side quest, it had you do nine different things before it was over.

Rewards:

Food
Medicine
Schematic - Bottlecap Mine
Repellent stick (that only works on one creature)
Radiation Suit
Food Sanitizer
A Big Book of Science
Shady Hat

And other stuff I can't remember...

And this was the same quest where you had to get into a library closely guarded by a big bunch of Talon Mercinaries and a Sentry Bot or two to keep you raging.

Have you encountered missions in a game or even an entire game that you found to be a complete waste of your time, essential seconds, minutes, hours, days or god knows how long, that you will NEVER EVER get back?

I remember Zelda, and a certain 'amazing' sword I spend time grinding to get because a certain blob made me go find it -_- ....I got the sword, then it smashed....and it can't be fixed, what a &&*"£&"*" waste of my time.
You know there's a whole sidequest that you can do so the Giant's Knife doesn't break after the third swing, right? Totally worth it.

No, the Customer Appreciation thing in Wind Waker is much worse.

Hmmm... lets see here...

You know, the only thing that actually comes to mind right now was my online experience with Blazblue: Calamity Trigger. Why? I didn't get to keep my records for Continuum Shift. So, me being level 30+ only got me two trophies, nothing more.

Other than that really, I think my time with my FUBAR'd Soul Reaver 1 & 2 disks... I mean, cmon, Soul Reaver 1, can't get into the second boss' lair due to game glitch, and with Soul Reaver 2 I can't even leave the FIRST FREAKING AREA!!!

Guess I just have to torrent the PC versions, I mean, cmon, I own the games, I'm gonna damn well play them even if I have to pirate the non-console versions to do it. I'd suspect that's legal since I do own the games

And if not, well, whatever. I want my Legacy of Kain fix
Frick!! Now I want to play the Legacy of Kain series. Thanks, not in a mean way, but in a good way for reminding me of that awesomely atmospheric series.

This one is nit picking but I reallllllly hate.
How in New Vegas the strip is cut into four parts.
Okay so I wanna go to LOAD the NCR base and LOAD talk to the guy stationed there to LOAD get a quest to help the LOAD NCR. Okay time to LOAD leave and do that quest let me LOAD quick warp out to the nearest spot.

If they made the strip just one big area it would be SO much easier to navigate and not hair pulling every time I want to walk from one end to the next. How about: I spawn in the strip, not in front of it. Walk to what ever I want. Breaking it up just kills flow
Making it one continuas section would probebly kill most PCs that are just barley able to run it as is, they could either make it a PC exlusive that would require a small supercomputer to run or they could make it work for as many people as possible.

OT: Achievments in general but especially the buisywork ones lik ethe flags in Assassins Creed if I hunt for four hours for these bloody things they had damn well better have an in-game effect!

I wasted a month of my life playing WoW.
It was the free month you get since a friend really wanted me to get addicted.
Hah! Addicted... It was boring, and all you do is quest for money to get better gear to run through instances to level up to be able to wear better gear which you'll need gold to buy so you quest for gold buy the gear so you can do better instances to get experience to level up to buy better gear to...
Godamn why do so many people like that?

Borderlands sadly, it was just repetitive as fuck and I quickly got bored of it and started Fallout New Vegas instead. Much more fun :)
I think the draw of that game was to find increasingly great guns, a treasure hunters dream. I got addicted because my favorite part in Fable 3 is finding chests. And I like FPS games.

Dead Rising 3-7 day survivor achievement couldn't move from the 360 had to constantly eat and it got you nothing at the end of it just 20 points for each one.

Final Fantasy 8, drawing magic.
I call your FF8 draw and raise you: driving around in ME to full explore every planet. Was there an achievement? No. Why did I do it? I have no idea...I might be chemically imbalanced.

FF8 did mark the first FF I did not play thru multiple times tho, mostly because of my hatred for the draw system.

The last installment of Tiberium wars.
The entire game was a waste of my time.
You actually finished it?

Bravo.
Thanks ^^''
Yeah. Worth it? No... Not by a long shot.
I have actually forgot what it was about, so bad it was (in my personal opinion).
I believe in finishing games, then pull a conclusion.

*shiver* Now please give me a normal C&C ^_^ (even though the tiberium collection is officially over if I recall correctly)

Most of disgea 3

Not being able to save mid battle is the most annoying thing in the world, especially in item dungeons ><

Resi Evil Outbreak 1.

I played every single level with all the normal characters to unlock the Hunk look-a-like. A week later Outbreak 2 is released, that unlocks all stuff from Outbreak 1 in both games anyway...

The Feather Collecting in AC2. You spend hours collecting 100 feathers and what do you get, a cape that makes you automatically Notorious and one line of dialoge from your mother. I would rather spend that time collecting 100 hidden packages in Vice City and getting cool weapons.
That is all you get?! Jesus, that's about a solid two hours of work (at least) to track down each and every feather. I was hoping for so much more like maybe the mother is a new NPC feature at the town or gives Enzio an upgrade or maybe she gives new cut scenes where she talks about the dead characters giving them more depth and backstory. What a waste of a neat concept: bring home a thoughtful gift to help a grief strickened mother mourn her dead family.
