"Well, i uh...i think we should take sparring off the table for now. I have a bad tendency to accidentally hurt the person i am fighting with, even when it is just a friendly match."

So she doesn't think I can take a hit, huh.

Lenah wasn't sure whether to feel a bit insulted because she was being underestimated, or to consider it a gesture of kindness, because it did seem that Mirabelle only meant good with it. She settled somewhere in the middle, not exactly thanking the other for it, but not being salty about it either.

"If you say so," she finally replied, examining the other thoughtfully. "I'm sure I wouldn't break that easily, but I wouldn't want to hurt you either, so I suppose sparring might have been slightly too much." A light chuckle, as she listened to the rest.

"Uh, outside of that...i haven't been outside very much so i don't know much that we can do out there. Why don't we walk around and talk until we find something? It is Gato after all, i doubt that we will have to go too far before we find something interesting."

"Sure, let's do that," Lenah replied, and started leading the way. She stopped, however, when she heard that some of the others were talking about hanging out and eating, but she wasn't sure she wanted to do that. It wasn't outside, and she wasn't particularly hungry. One of the pros of being a nymph, and all that. Still, she waited for Mirabelle to react to it, if she could see that the other girl wanted to join the others, she would be up for it, but if not, they'd just continue on ahead.

"And I would hate to ask a new friend to buy me something to eat. So, how about I cook something instead?"

Wow that worked even better than I expected. At this rate I'll have him wrapped around my finger in no time. Still she would probably have to move a little slower than she'd like, to avoid scaring him off again. Not to mention Viktor would likely attempt to sabotage her efforts, and given how he'd been acting she wouldn't be surprised if Tomas tried to interfere as well. I'll figure out how to deal with them later.

"New friend? I'm glad you think so!" she said, smiling sweetly "And I haven't had a home cooked meal in forever, so that sounds delightful, lets go then, I'm starving."

This was shaping up excellently so far, Sierra in a place where she could keep an eye on her easily, and possibly strike up more of a connection with, and Will right where she wanted him. Well not quite yet, but certainly getting there. If nothing else he didn't seem terrified of her at this point, which was certainly good, if somewhat less entertaining than his earlier reaction had been.

"If you say so, I'm sure I wouldn't break _that_ easily, but I wouldn't want to hurt you either, so I suppose sparring might have been slightly too much."

Mirabelles momentarily wondered if what she said had insulted Lenah somehow, mostly due to the emphasis she put on 'that'. If it had though, it didn't seem to be too big of a deal because she quickly moved on. Still, she wished she had phrased that better, or at least in a way that emphasized her own lack of control over the idea of thinking that Lenah couldn't take it. In the end though, she just dropped it, figuring that if her friend didn't make a big deal about it, then neither should she.

"Sure, let's do that,"

"Ok." Mirabelle said, following Lenah out of the room...or nearly out, at least. She stopped just in time to not knock Lenah down, as the girl stopped in front of the door. She wondered why she had stopped for a moment before she heard the others talking.

"And I would hate to ask a new friend to buy me something to eat. So, how about I cook something instead?"

"New friend? I'm glad you think so! And I haven't had a home cooked meal in forever, so that sounds delightful, lets go then, I'm starving."

'Well, they seem to be becoming friends fast...' she thought, though she was still a bit concerned about the pairing. It still seemed rather sudden that Juliet had gone from merciless teasing to sweet and kind, but if Will didn't have a problem with it then she wouldn't intrude on his attempt to become friends. Giving Will and Juliet a wave, she followed Lenah onwards, out into the open air.

Once outside and walking around, Mira gave a small pause while thinking of something to say. Finally she spoke up, saying, "So...uh, if i am not being to forward...where did you live befire Gato?"

Heavy thuds sounded through the gym?s weight room as Viktor worked the bag, venting his frustrations into it. The succubus and the half-breed? Fine, I can cope with that?but why I HE here? He thought bitterly. The girls were small timers, either here on their own, or maybe running errands for some low level Lord, but Seth? He was a ?name?, and how the hell did the Clan?s contacts here?as limited as they were?miss a ?name? like him? ?? He swore viciously, putting his fist through the side of the bag.

After muttering a few sheepish apologise to a few of the other people there, he lifted down the bag and took it to the equipment room for a replacement. After dealing with a rather annoyed clerk, he got a new bag and was returning to the weight room when he noticed something was off. When he?d left the place was almost full but now, only a few minutes later, it was almost empty except for a group of guys over by the free weights. Great, lycans? He thought as he caught their scent.

Despite the stories, now-a-days there was generally little issue between the Clans and the Packs, but like anything else, there were exceptions to the rule. Three were clustered around a fourth guy who was lifting massive amounts of weights on the bench press. All four were dress in MMA merchandise clothing, the one on the bench had a tribal tattoo showing from under his too small shirt. What?s the American term for guys like that? Ah?douche. For a moment he wondered why guys like that would be here, but then it clicked. Gato was more like an American Collage, so they?d probably been sent in a, most likely vain, attempt to broaden their horizons. Rolling his eye in amusement, he went and hung the new bag, before returning to his ?workout?.

The renewed sounds of him striking the bag finally alerted the lycan?s to his presence. After the groups ?Alpha? set his weights down, the four of them made their way towards Viktor. ?Hey bro.? The Alpha said as Viktor finished a set; he?d heard and smelled the wolves approaching and was pretty sure he knew what they were going to do?or at least try to. ?You must be new here.? The lead wolf went on. ?? Viktor replied; he could almost hear the betas that trailed the Alpha making faces at him.

The Alpha put an arm on Viktor?s shoulder, which was difficult and Viktor was both taller and broader than the other man. ?You see bro, you?re new so you wouldn?t this, but right now?this is kinda our place.? ?I opologize.? Viktor answered, playing up his accent; ?Westerners? tended to underestimate him when he did that. ?I not see any signs when I come in; but is place for all students?I will stay.? He added, pulling away. ?Look bro!? The lycan?s were getting upset, obviously they really weren?t used to not getting their way. Spoilt fucking children? The wolf reached out and grabbed Viktor by the shoulder to stop him from turning away. Finding the wolf?s gip to be surprisingly weak for someone his size, Viktor let himself be turned around. ?Alright bro, last warning?FUCK OFF!? The wolf snarled as he shoved him. ?You don?t wanna start nothin? bro, we will fuck your one-eyed ass up!?

The threat and the posturing, made Victor want to laugh. Though sure they?d be strong by human standards, these pups were all bulk and no mass by lycan. Leaning down slightly he grinned in the Alpha?s face. ?Are you going to bark all day little doggie? Or are you going to bite??

Jack waited for the others to try to bunk with each other before he tried to find a ?roommate.? Lenah was the first to voice her preferences in her roommates though she didn?t really have any.

"Well, I'll bunk with whoever wants to bunk with me, Of course, keep in mind that I like having fun and playing instruments. I'm not loud, per say, it's rather soothing music, but I do play a lot, so if you don't like that kind of thing I'm probably not the best person to share room with. I'll of course keep it down during exam times and all that, and I don't tend to invite people, since it used to annoy my former room-mate."

She was alright. Not nearly as annoying as the demon at least and the most annoying thing would be the nonstop music that?d be constantly playing. Jack could handle that at least. It was then that Mirabelle said.

"Uh...i am also okay with bunking up with anyone...um, i should mention though...sometimes i may need to change my mesh so you may accidentally see that. I'll give warning when i am doing it though so...yeah. Also, i uh...i don't really sleep. I won't try to wake you but...just a little warning..."

Oh right, she?s a rather nervous one too. Jack thought as he stared at her for a moment before turning away. She was an unlikely candidate to be his roommate. She was too nervous and she was suspicious of him. It was then that the drama ensued.

While most of the participants in the room probably didn?t notice it, the drama only actually lasted about a minute or two. From Will fainting to the vampire insulting demon kind. Most of the others would say it lasted longer but in reality they were in the middle of the drama. Time can become slightly warped while you?re in the middle of it all but Jack was more of a passive observer. Slightly amused by it all but also disgusted by how human like ?monsters? really were. What a foolish thing to call their kind. Now that he thought about it most of the things humans and monsters did were rather foolish. The simple labeling of their kind as monsters showed that much. Jack knew the truth however. You aren?t a monster because of what you are. You?re a monster because of the way you act and when it comes down to it, everyone is a monster somewhere deep down. Everyone has the capacity to do simply monstrous things.

By the time Jack came out of his musings the situation was virtually resolved. Will had woken up and taken something from Lenah to make him feel better. Meanwhile Seth had come back and the situation seemed to resolve itself from there.

"Well, judging from that feeling hanging in the air, I can see you all have started to make friends already. Anyway, your new quarters are almost ready. Day after tomorrow are when Lances will be able to move in. In the mean time you are free to go except... Jack, you stay for a minute. Every one else is free to go and finish your bunking arrangements if you haven't or do what ever, I'll call on who ever I pick next when I'm done speaking to Jack."

Jack didn?t like being left alone with this ?man.? Although he was supposed to be their handler he didn?t trust the being one bit. Once everyone had piled out of the room Jack approached the man although reluctant to and said In a neutral tone. ?You told me to stay sir??

Seth

"You told me to stay sir?"

"Indeed I did." Seth said as he leaned against the desk arms crossed in front of him "This meeting is about addressing your crippling weakness in 'high light' environments." Seth said taking a mostly serious tone with Jack. "I want this team to be a honed edge, as such a weakness like yours can jeopardize your teams lives, or if that is of little concern to you right now, your life."

"Fortunately we have a wealth of options we can use, and while I could very easily just assign you some form of combat training, I'm interested in hearing how you would choose to counter this little problem."

Sierra

Sierra's book wasn't doing it for her, and she didn't feel like studying or working on her 'projects', so she figured a work out would do her some good.

So she put something on better suited for exercise and headed down to the gym, when she got there how ever she found the vampire Vik and a small group of Betas, one of the small packs of Lycans it seemed that where in that house, looking like they where about to square off. Part of her wanted to scare them off, not that it would take much, but she decided it would be more fun to just watch the show for now, besides, the looks on their faces when they noticed her would be priceless.

It almost made Jack chuckle when the made tried to put it in an eloquent way to try and not aggravate him. Honestly he agreed with the being. It still brought up and important idea however, a way to overcome his greatest weakness.

"Fortunately we have a wealth of options we can use, and while I could very easily just assign you some form of combat training, I'm interested in hearing how you would choose to counter this little problem."

?There are options.? Jack began as he thought it over. ?Depending on what kind of light source it is. The sun is my biggest problem. With a common light simply flipping the switch will do, if small enough my shadows can simply extinguish it, or if I had a gun shooting it out would do nicely. Though I?m not sure how the monster world views guns currently. Probably too human like.?

His thoughtful look turned to one of concern as he continued. ?However the sun presents a much larger problem. If the area is barren and there?s nowhere to hide there?s not much I can do. The only shadows I could really manipulate would be their own shadows which if you haven?t guessed isn?t a whole lot. The only other alternative would be to I don?t know carry an object that contains shadows in it. Depending on the size of the box I could always use at least a few shadows to defend myself and others with. However I can?t use my full control over darkness if I?m in my human form. So there are a multitude of routes we can take but for any I suggest we get some container that can have some shadows in it. It would be most helpful while I?m in human form.? Once he finished Jack stared at Seth waiting for his response.

As William was leading Juliet towards his place, his words began to sink in. While he wasn't truly panicking, he was still freak out. 'Oh god, Oh no, Oh God' He thought as he was sweating a bit. 'I just invited Juliet to my house! To make her food! I-isn't this like a date? No, no you're just making a new friend some dinner..That's all. he thought as he tried to calm himself. Leaving the meeting room and heading outside to where he and his mentor lived, he saw that he was getting some stares from some of the other students.

Just stay calm..just stay calm... He said over and over to himself. Though anyone with eyes could tell he wasn't doing so well. 'Almost there...and then I can calm down and make dinner for us. Slightly shaking as he almost wanted to run towards his dorm. Only thing stopping him was that he didn't want to seem even more cowardly infront of his friend.

Glad for an excuse to leave, Jarrah stood and made his way to the door, during which Tomas walked up to him.

"Bunking partners?"

"Sure." The Yowie replied as the two left the room. Jarrah wanted to believe that things would cool off between Viktor and the two demons, but as it was he found very little evidence to believe it, and putting them all under one roof was certainly going to leave the air thick enough to cut with a knife.

With little else to do until Seth called him out to speak, Jarrah retired to his room and began to pack.

The pup whipped a haymaker at Viktor?s head for that taunt, and it was all he could do not to laugh. To Viktor it almost seemed to play out in slow motion, the boy winding up and swinging with an almost painful slowness. This boy has never thrown a real punch in his life. He thought idly to himself as the punch was telegraphed. He could see a half-dozen separate ways to non-lethally interrupt the attack, and four lethal ones, even for a lycan; instead he opted to take the hit. There was a dull thwak as the fist connected with Viktor?s face, and his head jerked sharply to the right, but he remained standing.

Slowly turning back to the ?pack? leader, he looked down at him and gave a disappointed sigh. ?Child, I?ve been struck harder in sparring matches.? Reaching up, he readjusted his eye patch, which had been shifted by the punch. Looking at the group as a whole, a couple of the other wolves took a step or two back. Clasping his hands behind his back, he spoke softly to the now nervous looking wolves. ?Today you learned an important lesson: There is ALWAYS someone bigger or stronger or tougher than you. Never assume you?ll always be top dog in a fight, you do that and you end up as somebody?s throw rug.? The four shifted uneasily. ?One more thing before you leave though?? He added as one of the ?beta? males tried to slip away. ?I dislike it when those with power use it to abuse those weaker than them.? His already deep voice almost becoming a growl. ?You may leave.?

The four took off at not quite a run, only to see Sierra glaring at them from the doorway. There was an audible gasp from all four, and one of them actually yelped, but they never stopped moving, instead slowing slightly and muttering ?excuse me? as they passed though none of them looked her in the face as they did so.

Viktor had turned away as the pups bolted, but the sounds at the door drew is attention. Seeing Sierra standing there, he grunted in annoyance before going back to striking the bag.

As they were walking to Will's room he started to shake, looking increasingly nervous as they went. Juliet sighed inwardly, she should have expected something like this to happen. He'd only just now realized that he was taking a girl to his room apparently, and from the looks of things he was wondering himself if it was just as friends or not. I'd better do something about this, people are starting to stare. Not that she necessarily minded stares, but these were at Will for his seemingly imminent breakdown.

"Will," she said, putting a hand on his shoulder and turning him so that she could look into his eyes "Just relax ok? There's nothing to worry about."

As she spoke she laced her words and her gaze with her power, not much of course she didn't want to use her charm on her teammates too much after all. People tended to react badly when they found out she'd been manipulating them so directly after all, besides it was more fun to make people trick themselves. In this case though she doubted her words would be enough on their own, besides the kid clearly wanted to stay calm so she was just helping him out a little. The charm itself would be subtle, might even feel fairly pleasant, and wouldn't do more than relax him a little.

"Feeling better?" she asked after a few moments, giving the charm time to sink in.

Will try as he might as he was getting worst. From being with a very beautiful woman, to seeing people staring at them. He never liked it when a mass of people stare at him. It was as if they were judging him harshly. Though before it could get any worst, he felt someone turn him around.

Hearing Juliet words as she spoke to him. He felt really calm, and relaxed. He wasn't sure what had happen, but he liked it. He didn't feel like he was about to panic. He somewhat didn't care of how they were staring. He felt great! Giving Juliet a smile as he felt better after her somewhat smoothing words.

"I do, Thanks Juliet" He said in a cheerful tone. Walking normally as if he didn't have a care in the world. Leading her towards where he stay with his mentor on the school grounds. Entering the building as he walk down the hall towards his room. After a bit of walking, they finally enter the dorm room.

"Well..here we are...it's not much..but it's home" He said as he invites her in. "Just take a seat while I get food ready!" He said as he head into the kitchen.

Tomas

While he was sure he would regret it later, he was glad he bunker up with someone he could trust. Nodding as they headed back to their dorm room to start packing. Grabbing his things and putting them in his luggage. Stopping as he look over a letter from his mom a few days earlier. He sighs, he should have written back to her by now. Though with everything going on he couldn't. Deciding that once he was moved in, he would write and let her know everything was going alright.

Seth

Seth listened to Jack as he voiced his ideas for covering his weakness, more over the ideas given sounded plausible enough to work. "Sounds like a good place to start to me. I'll get some one to come up with a couple suitable boxes for you to try this out." Seth said after jack finished "You should still learn something, weapon, or unarmed combat, just to cover all the bases." Seth eyed Jack a moment or two "You seem like the kind of guy who'd favor knives or daggers, but I'll leave that up to your digression." Seth added as he gave tat dice a toss again. this time landing on the two. "For now though, you are free to go, I seem to have a Vampire to find."

Sierra

Sierra snickered internally at the sight of the Lycans cowering at just her presence, but after they where gone she walked over to the mat, mostly ignoring Viktor, she had no reason to speak to him after all. Sierra did a few stretches before summoning her sword and going into her routine. The sound of Viktor punching the bag, the whooshing of Sierra's blade cutting the air or the sound of they're foot work being the only sounds the two made toward each-other.

"I do, Thanks Juliet"

"No problem," she said with a cheerful smile, once again following Will until they reached his room.

"Well..here we are...it's not much..but it's home. Just take a seat while I get food ready!"

"It's nice," she said, looking around a bit before taking a seat on the couch "I can't wait to see what you make."

Hopefully here in his room he'd be more relaxed than outside with the crowds, if not... well the charm wouldn't last much longer so she'd find out soon enough. She hadn't wanted to put too much power in it, hadn't needed to either as it wasn't as if she was asking him to run an errand for her or something like that. Hell people achieved the same effect on themselves all the time, usually with alcohol, which could have much nastier side effects than her charm once its whole relaxation effect wore off.

"So...uh, if i am not being to forward...where did you live before Gato?"

Lenah had started walking again, and turned to face Mirabelle as they walked. She tilted her head.

"Well... I'm originally from mainland Greece, but I've lived everywhere from England to the US, to... well, to here," she replied, looking up at the sky the moment they got out, and then back to Mirabelle. She brushed a hand through her own hair as the wind caught it, and continued, smiling as brightly as ever.

"I've been travelling quite a while, you see, I wanted to explore the world rather than to stay in a forest pond in the middle of nowhere. Make no mistake, it was an absolutely beautiful, mostly untouched place, hidden away from most of humanity... but it was also a bit dull. My mother and her sisters seemed content there, but I was so happy when I was allowed to leave." Lenah lead them by habit towards the garden, and as they stepped on soft grass, she almost hummed to herself.

"Of course, sometimes I miss it. I was allowed to hunt back then, but ever since I left it has never seemed like an acceptable thing to do, for a girl like me to be hunting or killing, or even simply tracking. Bit of a shame, I remember spending hours just tracking a prey with a spear. I hope I get the chance to do the same as part of Gungnir." Turning for a bit, she realized that she was probably talking a little too much. If not, Mirabelle might think that she didn't care enough to ask about her, and that wasn't true at all.

"But I think that's enough about me," she finally concluded. "How about you? Where did you live? What did you use to do before coming to this school?"

Smiling as the charm effects were slowly wearing off. Though, at the time he haven't notice yet due to the fact he wasn't in the same room with her. Humming a tune to himself as he got things prepared. Deciding to make some pasta Alfredo with chicken. Hoping she wasn't to bored sitting on the couch. Poking his head out of the doorway as he said, " you can watch tv if you want." Not thinking what she might watch as his mind was on cooking.

Once everything was done heating up, he set off to cook. After a bit, he was finally done. Smile as his handy work as he prepare two plates for him and Juliet. Setting things up on the table as he double check to make sure everything was right. Smiling as he thought everything was perfect, or at least close to it. Walking into the living room as he said "It's ready."

Mirabelle mulled over what Lenah said, realizing just how different their lives had been in relation to one another. While it seemed Lenah had had an adventurous life already, what with the traveling and hunting, Mira had been the opposite, not traveling unless it was absolutely necessary and prefering her books to anything physical.

"But I think that's enough about me, How about you? Where did you live? What did you use to do before coming to this school?"

She thought for a moment, trying to separate what would be important and what wasn't, before speaking up. "Um...well, i am originally from Spain, just outside of Galicia proper, though i stayed in England for a bit, studying more about the world and learning what i could of Alchemy from Dr. Archambault."

Mira stopped for a moment, wondering to herself. If she had been a little more interested, a little more willing to go outside after her father's death, would she have run into Lenah during her travels? Most likely not, England was still a pretty big place, but still...it could have happened if she had bothered to try.

"In any case, i rarely went outside. I...well, i was still young back then and the outside world tended to overwhelm me, so i was content to just learn about it from my father's books. Besides, staying in my home wasn't too bad. There was plenty of space since my father rebuilt our home and he filled it with plenty of books so there was plenty to read."

"Still, he didn't stop attempting to get me out and get me used to the world outside my house. My father actively encouraged me to got out and interact with others, but after a few...bad experiences with other people, he relented. The only time i ever went out willingly, it was to the back of the house, and even then, it was only because he was out there, tending to the trees." she said, picking up and twirling a leaf by it's stem. "He seemed to like it out there, even if he disliked actually taking care of the trees...they messed with his allergies, he said. Still, we both like staying out there, underneath the trees, just sitting and talking...well, me asking questions and him answering."

She spent a minute reminiscing about those moments, silently wishing that she could have them again. Of course she quickly remembered that she was talking with someone else and snapped out of it. Returning to the conversation she said, "Uh, sorry about that. I got caught up in the past. So anyways...what did you usually hunt, back when you were allowed to? Anything large?"

After a few more rounds at the bag, Viktor felt a bit better. Taking a step back from the bag, he turned to watch Sierra with her sword work. While he?d never learned to wield a blade, he knew a couple of old Cossacks who were very good with a sword, and though the half-breed?s technique was?unique, he could recognize a skilled fighter when he saw one. He made a mental note to try and fight her at long range if it should ever be necessary. Wither he liked it or not, he had to admit there was a certain fluid brutality that was impressive; without consciously realizing it, he leant against a weight machine to watch her work.

Sierra continued her work out, while she noticed the lack of sounds coming from where Vik had been, she simply assumed he had finished his work out had left. It wasn't till she caught him leaning against one of the weight machines and watching her that she notice he was still in the room, she was going to ignore him at first but, "watching cause you like what you see, or studying an 'enemy'" she asked as she finished the routine she was working on and sheathed her sword before coiling her glamored tail around the sheath, giving it the appearance of floating behind her.

"you can watch tv if you want."

"Ok," Juliet said, lounging back and flicking on the TV. It seemed Will was holding it together fairly well now, maybe it was just being around so many other people that had set him off before. She didn't have anything in particular that she wanted to watch so she just wound up flipping through channels while she waited. While he cooked she paused briefly on reality shows, news reports, cartoons, and at one point a fashion show.

Still she couldn't help but feel somewhat bored, waiting was never enjoyable though in this case at least she had something to look forward to. Not so much the food itself (though she did enjoy good food) but rather Will himself, though she wasn't sure how much progress she'd really make today.

"It's ready."

"Great, it smells delicious," she said, turning off the TV and following him into the kitchen. She sat down at the table and started eating.

"Oh this is great!" she said "I'll have to get you to cook for me more often."

She ate for a bit, not too quickly of course as eating too much could be seen as unattractive. After a bit she spoke again.

"Mm, you're a really good cook," she said, licking her lips, then smiled and giggled "and kinda cute too."
