"You seem to be forgetting the experience level of those around you. Getting lucky on one mission, because three of the five on the team was suited for most problems that might arise, does not mean the whole of the team is ready. They are all still untrained, and I will not even conciser sending them out for solo and duo assignments until they prove they are capable of working as a group and watching each others backs. Or more simply, Prove your able, and more importantly willing to do the tasks given and I will consider giving you something more suited to your ability's. Not Before."
Sol felt like groaning. For someone who's job was to understand people's strengths, this woman was clearly not getting it. It wasn't about experience, or problems, or the fact that she kept getting angry when she should at least try to be patient. However, the way she twisted his words and what he was trying to say, either out of malice or out of actual stupidity, that sort of got to Sol. However, he kept his mouth shut, he knew when it was time to pull back, and he wasn't making any headway with this.
Not long after the lecture, Seth appeared for a brief moment, telling them why Sierra wasn't there at the moment.
"Sierra won't be joining you all. during an outing of her's earlier today she came under demonic attack as has been wounded, enough so that stubborn as she is she called for help. The full extent of her injury's is unknown at this point as she is being recovered as we speak. When I know more about her injury's and who attacked her I'll let you all know."
"I see, hopefully she's fine," Sol replied to Seth, before letting it go. He didn't know what had happened, perhaps Sierra had just been really stupid, but he still didn't want someone to get injured, especially not since it sounded like it could be serious.
I wonder how these guys deal with death...
He thought. With the trainers really drilling the fact that the others were amateurs into his head -even though he got that from the start, no need to repeat it- and Sierra getting herself hurt, he couldn't help but wonder if they could handle something like that. Sol hadn't been working together with someone who had died, but hunters had to be more careful than your common monster, and people both older and younger than him had gotten killed. Some of them he had known personally.
Sierra's not going to die, though. I doubt so, at least, she was able to call for help, and she is a demon.
Still. Part of Sol felt like he should make sure the group could deal with that kind of thing, the other part felt like it would be too intruding, especially since he wasn't going to be there for too long.
"Well...now that we got that out of the way...what is our plan of getting this mission done? I rather not run out there like a moron and get hit, or just send out a few to take the blunt of the paintballs just because "mr hunter" here think this plan is stupid..."
Still not getting the point. But whatever, I suppose I deserve a bit of annoyance thrown my way.
Sol just shrugged in reply, just another person who had completely misunderstood what he said. On one hand, he wished he could act more enthusiastically, he really wanted to. He loathed feeling like this. However, he wished he could convey his experience better, explain why it was an issue. Perhaps, if he told them about his past...
No, it doesn't matter.
He went a little away from the others, to the wall next to the door, and leaned against it, clearly listening, but keeping out of the discussion. Sol had little to contribute at this point, and talking was getting unpleasant. The normally quiet one raised his voice to say he had an idea, but Sol didn't care much for the plan at this point, they could do as they wanted. Besides, he had come upon something to actually consider. The vital thing was not, in his opinion, whether these guys were ready to succeed at a mission... but if they were prepared to fail.
