"Smile, pretty boy, If they think we're enjoying it, they might be more willing to listen to suggestions, should that be needed."

"Right...I can see this is going to end up so great.." he said with zero confidence. Shaking his head at the man and continue his walk with the group. Looking around the empty gym as he wonders what they had plan. Though all that change when the room started to become purple and change around. Not sure what was going on as he saw the room filled with training equipment.

"Neat..."

William

William lag behind the group as they chatted among themselves. Not too sure if any of them were still wondering about him as he hope most forgot about it. Though once they filled into the gym he knew he couldn't lag behind anymore. Looking around as he was about to ask how they will be training when the room started to change a bit. The room turning a purple and being filled up with training equipment.

"Wow.." was what William said. Smiling a bit as he like how they did this. Though he did wonder how they will start out with training.

While the training was a welcome development, though, for him at least, the trainers themselves left a little to be desired, especially Laura. While Gato's normal gym teachers were hardasses (Mr Maximus in particular) Laura seemed to just be a dick for the sake of it.

Jarrah kept these thoughts to himself, however, as he followed everyone else to the gym. He was about to comment on the lack of equipment when the room... shifted (uncomfortably reminding Jarrah of the karaoke bar) and turned purple.

"Ooh, mood lighting,"

Juliet's comment got a chuckle out of the Yowie, which he stifled as he turned to the trainers. "So, what's first?"

"Yes, but please, call me Sol. I mean..."

Mirabelle listened as Sol explained the origin of his nickname as she led them, taking care to not get to focused on the story while they moved, lest she end up getting them lost. At the end, she could...sense, she guessed, that there was more to the story though...but she had learned from asking Kaylee that it probably wasn't best topush the subject, and so she kept quiet on the matter. Still, it did seem interesting, even if she didn't know what possessed him to tell it.

"Well...that's interesting. I don't really have a story around my name...all that happened for me was that one of my last dormmates called me Mira and...i guess it has stuck? Anyways, in latin, my shortened name means Wonder so...i think you may have me beaten on that..."

With that, they entered the gym, where the trainers seemed busy doing...something. Of course, once they showed up, the trainers did something that turned the room a hue of violet and made equipment matterialize out of thin air...much to Mira's disinterest. She was more focused immediately on the amount of force these constructs could take rather than how amazing it was for them to be able to create such things. After all, Magical school. Still, she also took the time to wonder if the materializing of this equipment was due to property concerns and how much of it was just sloth.

"Nonesense, your name is a-- it's a beautiful name," he said, narrowly avoiding an unintetional pun on the meaning. Continuing as if he hadn't even given it a thought, Sol's grin got wider.

"Besides, when we work together we can be a sunny wonder, surely that's reason enough to do some group work," he continued, though he stopped when he noticed the gym turning purple.

What kind of spell is that? What was even the purpose of that? Is it some sort of effect on the area?

"Ooh, mood lighting,"

"But everything got so gloomy now," Sol joked in reply, as he looked around. It was surprisingly empty for a gym. Then again, he had been expecting something like this, nothing like a good old-fashioned workout routine, right?

Right, it's all so fantastic.

He thought, sarcastically. Then he looked to Juliet again. "Perhaps they'll change it to pink if we ask nicely."

"Yeah." Sierra said in a pained voice, and pushed her self over. As she held he wound she pulled her phone out of her pocket and almost immediately dropped it. "I need you to text." Sierra started, then coughed. "Some one, he's a jerk, but I donno any one else who can get some one here quick enough." she said as she motioned to the phone. She waited for Daniel to pick up the phone before instructing him how to get to her contacts, and who he was sending the message to, and what to send, not that it was complicated, though the message of 'Broken Feather' was probably odd to Daniel.

Was odd to her to, but something told her that Seth would know what it meant bad things happened

As Daniel sent the text, Sierra took a deep breath, coughed a bit, and waited

Seth's Office
Seth pulled out his phone, as it had started going off. Not alarming by it self, he was expecting to get several messages. This one earned a 'shit' from under his breath as well as 'of all the bloody things for her to remember'. Quickly he fired of a couple texts to a couple people. "Change of plans. No trip to the Demon Realm for us just yet." Seth said as we typed out and sent the second text. "Sierra has been attacked, and is in need of medical assistance. So I need you here in case something comes up. We can't have both heavy hitters on the team down or not available for sortie."

Gym

"I see the mut is still to 'busy' to join us." Laura said to Duncan and Marie, then moved over to the group, bag in hand. "Your first drill is a simple one, find an item, and bring it back." she said as she put the bag down and pulled out a paintball gun. "The Reality Marble we are currently in has a forest just out side the east doors. In it is a small building that has the item in question. A topaz stone. You are to go to this building, collect the stone and come back here."

Marie then stepped up. "The 'Teamwork' part of this is simple, I have created Clay Golems, and armed them with Paint Ball Guns, with the paint replaced with a stunning agent, it's won't hurt you, but it will put you down for a little while. So you will need to watch each other backs, These Golems may not be sentient, but the are smart enough to be dangerous. The Golem are also programed to bring downed 'players' back here. So you will be graded not just on how fast you complete your task, but how much of your team gets captured as well."

"If you have any questions now is the time to ask them" Laura said.

Viktor raised an eyebrow as Seth muttered a barely audible ?shit?.

"Change of plans. No trip to the Demon Realm for us just yet."

Oh thank Christ for small mercies?

"Sierra has been attacked, and is in need of medical assistance. So I need you here in case something comes up. We can't have both heavy hitters on the team down or not available for sortie."

?Well fuck.? He said out loud. Visions of the ?Pripyat Incident? flashed before his eyes; granted that had been a full blooded Abyssal, but somehow he doubted her death would have been less?disastrous, from a practical point of view. ?[small]And no nearby reactors to cover it up?[/small]? He muttered, not realizing he?d spoken aloud. Standing up, he checked his weapon once more. ?Should I move the rest of them to ?Standby? in case back up is needed, or should I let them keep training??

Seth's Office

Seth paused a moment, thinking. "No, we can't afford to delay training any further. So, I'll give you the option of joining them, going to see if there's anything more to be done for Sierra, or being on your own time to make that report to your masters, as I'm sure they'll want to know about The Queen's possibly getting involved." Seth said after a moment or two of though

Looking at the clock, he shook his head slightly. ?We may have our?differences?and I?m still not convinced she won?t jeopardize a mission with that attitude of hers, but Sierra is an ally and a teammate.? This time as he fiddled with his gun, he drew it and swapped out one of the normal slugs, for the ?enhanced? one Sierra had done earlier. ?Get me her location.? Mentally he grimaced at the thought of going outside during the day. This is going to hurt like hell?

While Tomas didn't have a question for the group as it was pretty straight forward. William on the other hand was wondering something. William raise his hand and ask, "Um..q-quick question. Since I can shapeshift...will I still be stun if I change into something that can't be stun?"

He just wanted to know to work out a plan. If not, then he will protect the group as best he can. Making himself defensive while the others are offensive. If he can still be stun while transform, which probably means the bullets are magical, then he will switch up his plan a bit.

"Yeah." She said in a laboured voice as she began to push herself over to Daniel. Whilst trying to apply pressure to her wound with one hand, the Half Demon and pulled out a mobile phone with the other, dropping it almost immediately. "I need you to text." She said before coughing. "Some one, he's a jerk, but I donno any one else who can get some one here quick enough." Whilst speaking she motioned to the mobile with her free hand.

Daniel soon picked up the phone and was told who to contact, though the message of 'Broken Feather' was a bit unusual, though it probably had context between the half demon and whoever it was they were contacting. Whilst they waited for someone to show up, Daniel figured he should try and make the Half Demon comfortable, so he took off his trench coat and wrapped it up like a makeshift pillow then gently placed it underneath her head.

Daniel then scooted over to the other side to check on the status of the wound. From all outward appearances, it didn't look to be overly deep, he didn't see any sign of bone or anything, but it did extend from the Half Demon's shoulder to just under her ribs, suffice to say, it would be difficult, nay, nearly impossible to apply pressure on it; he could at least try to staunch the blood-flow enough to stop her from passing out.

"I apologise in advance Miss, but I'm afraid I'll have to relieve you of that jacket." Before the Half Demon could voice a protest, and with some careful precision use of his cards, Daniel managed to cut off the jacket into several pieces, using the main body of it as additional padding and placed it behind her head. The sleeves he kept to one side, saving them for later. With that out of the way, he could get a better look at the wound, it didn't look any better.

Seeing no alternative, Daniel cut one of the sleeves off his shirt, wrapping it around his hand and used it to try and staunch the blood flow whilst attempting to ply pressure to the wound.

"So." Daniel said. "Whilst we're waiting for this friend of yours to show up, why don't you tell me your name?"

"I see the mut is still to 'busy' to join us."

Mirabelle just shook her head and inwardly criticised Laura's lack of professionalism.

"Your first drill is a simple one, find an item, and bring it back. The Reality Marble we are currently in has a forest just out side the east doors. In it is a small building that has the item in question. A topaz stone. You are to go to this building, collect the stone and come back here."

She quietly wondered how big this forest was, a simple gauge to help determine how much space they had to work with and how much ground they had to cover. She doubted that it would be that easy to do since, after all, it was supposed to be a team building exercise. If that was it, then there would be no reason to stick together as a team and everyone would likely go trying to find it by themselves, calling it 'splitting up to cover more ground' and ditching everybody.

It was then that another one of the trainers came up and confirmed her suspicions.

Mira was shocked, almost overjoyed infact, at Marie speaking, though she didn't show it. It wasn't the things that she said, though she had plenty of interest in those topics...No, it was the fact that for once, someone in their trainer grouping didn't have something snarky or derogatory to say. She was sure that she probably did want to say something meanspirited, but the fact that she was able to keep it bottled up fact and stay focused focused and professional was astounding...assuming, of course, the others hadn't just taken the things that she wanted to say out of her mouth, but Mira felt optimistic about it.

Still, this new information added another wrinkle into the task at hand. She just hoped that it would be enough to make sure everyone worked together.

Of course, it was time for her to ask a question...

"Um...so, how large is the forest, how much space do we have to work with?"

"The Reality Marble we are currently in has a forest just out side the east doors. In it is a small building that has the item in question. A topaz stone. You are to go to this building, collect the stone and come back here."

Well, that sounds simple enough, anyone could run back and forth to do that.

Of course, that wasn't the end of it, as another of the trainers spoke. He knew their names, the former that had spoke was named Laura, and the one that continued was Marie.

Sol couldn't help but feel his optimistic smile slowly become more and more strained as he heard the trainers. The assignment had been interesting... if it was individually. If one shot meant you had failed, and then the next person was up. Perhaps even if it was done in duos. However, it didn't sound like that, and Sol couldn't help but start thinking about it, finding holes here and there that he found... disheartening.

"If you have any questions now is the time to ask them"

"Well, firstly, do you guys always finish each other's sentences?" he started, jokingly. He wasn't sure why he did that, perhaps because he disliked being so critical to something as he was feeling now.

"As for the other things... Do you honestly intend to send out a group for what a single individual, or perhaps two people, could do better? Why risk having a whole lot of shooting targets when you have people who could bypass the Clay Golems easily on their own? Does teamwork include not acknowledging people's strengths so that we could spend time getting it together, like some sort of kindergarten task?" Sol sighed, rubbing his forehead.

"As for the paintballs, shooting things that could knock this guy out--" he pointed at Jarrah. "At me, a human, doesn't sound like the best idea. Especially since the set-up makes it very much likely for me to get shot, given that I can't hide or sneak like I normally would. I tried to be all happy and optimistic about it, I did, I swear, but I just can't help but not feel it. I'll do it if you confirm that the paintballs are safe, but I can't promise I'll be happy about it."

He looked at the other members of the group, chuckling softly. "Hey, I'll probably get shot instantly either way, so I doubt it'd change anything," he told them, trying to be a bit reassuring. "If not, I'll try as best as I can, no reason to let my issues with this ruin your results."

Seth's Office

Seth gave Viktor Sierra's location. "If she's already been recovered see what you can find out about who attacked her, and while you do that, I'll see to a secure room for her to recover in." Seth said before getting back on his phone to arrange just that.

"Um...so, how large is the forest, how much space do we have to work with?"

"Yes, lets start the training people for life threatening situations, but having them start with a 'team coloring book'." Marie snarked. Laura looked like she was gonna say something but Marie cast a silence spell on her so nothing came out, with earned a glare from Laura and a 'that's better' smile from Marie

"Ok, to answer all of your questions at once; First and for most, the paintballs. The substance in side, is, surprise surprise, enchanted. Specifically to 'attack' the nerves that control muscle movement in the arms and legs." Marie then looked at Mirabelle. "Though I'm not sure how or if they'll even work on your 'golem'. But as long as there are nerves to attack, they will work." she said then wondered a loud to her self if Mirabelle should even be called a 'golem' due to her being sentient, that was quickly reined in though. "So, they will effect your Yowi friend exactly the same was as they'd effect you, and before you ask, I've been using this enchantment for decades, and there's only been 3 cases out of thousands where permanent damage occurred. So if you do suffer permanent nerve damage, you should probably start playing the Lottery." Marie adding the bit on the end as a joke. "One last thing on the subject of the paintballs, you will all be given a flask, this flask contains a fluid to cancel out the effects of the paintballs. won't do any good to save a party member only to still haven them unable to move after all."

"Now then; as for the 'point'." Marie crossed her arms in front of her "This test isn't meant for some one like you Hunter or the Vampire with Spec Ops training, hell, The Half Demon could probably solo this if her file is to be believed. This is meant for people with a much lower skill level, to assess your natural ability and see where you really are verse where you think you are. By the end of this we will know, your teams 'natural synergy', and see how much work will really need to be done. After all, working alone is easy, working together is hard."

"Lastly, the forest is an 8 by 8 Kilometer square, the building should be fairly easy to find though."

Alley

"Sierra." she said after Daniel got her all sorted out and pressure on her wound. "Thanks by the way." Sierra just lay there for a few moments. "You never answered my question about why a British 'supernatural' PI is in Japan" she said as they waited for aid to arrive

"Lastly, the forest is an 8 by 8 Kilometer square, the building should be fairly easy to find though."

"So then the first step should be locating the building," Juliet said "I can try to spot it from the sky, and then we can form a plan of attack."

Of course if it was just up to her then her snake form would easily be able to slip past defenses and get her to the item, or even her full demon form as she could swoop in from above. Paintballs weren't notorious for their long range, so keeping a solid height would let her avoid fire easily and even if the trees offered concealment from above her bat form could locate it by sound.

She turned to Sol "if the building is close enough then you could just make a run at it, but I'm guessing it won't be so we'll have to form an escort of sorts," she said "you're probably still the best person to carry it even so."

Communication could be an issue I suppose, but we'll cross that bridge later.

Right. Of course.

"What does Vik and Sierra have to do with this?" Sol said, raising his eyebrow. "As far as I know, they're not here. Besides, I reckon most of the people here could solo it, Jack, Jarrah... well, I never went on a mission with the others, but I'm sure they could've done well as well. Heck, if I'm hearing you correctly, Mira could walk through the trial without having to try. Which was exactly my point, but hey, let's not keep talking anymore."

"I can try to spot it from the sky, and then we can form a plan of attack. if the building is close enough then you could just make a run at it, but I'm guessing it won't be so we'll have to form an escort of sorts," she said "you're probably still the best person to carry it even so."

"Don't be ridiculous Juliet," Sol said, grinning. "That makes sense, so of course it's not allowed. No, we're going to have to all march into the forest and look, come on now fellows, let's not consider what we could have done and rather do as they want us to do."

He started walking towards the door, hoping that someone would follow at least. He didn't care if he was looking like a fool, Sol figured that staying would be more ridiculous than rushing and just getting it over with. Although he had promised to try his best, he was tempted to get shot at purpose, though the stuff about nerve-damage kept him from actually considering it.

"Sierra. Thanks by the way." She lay their still silently for a few moments afterwards, contemplating her next choice of words. "You never answered my question about why a British 'supernatural' PI is in Japan."

"Yeah well, I was about too before we got so rudely interrupted." Daniel remarked as he continued to apply pressure onto the wound.

"Whilst the majority of my cases are back home, every so often I get a special assignment from a frequent client of mine. Through their contacts posted out here, they uncovered reports of cultist activity and sent me over to investigate, and if possible, put a stop to it. Now how about you. What is a Half Demon doing all the way out here?"

"If she's already been recovered see what you can find out about who attacked her, and while you do that, I'll see to a secure room for her to recover in."

?On it.? Viktor replied, before making a hasty exit. His first stop was the campus store, where when the guy at the counter told him he?d have to pay for the backpack he was walking out with, he replied. ?Send the bill to Gungir.? His next stop was the infirmary where he began raiding the cupboards for relevant supplies; the nurse was told to direct her complaints to Seth. Viktor completed his trifecta of pissing off the school?s administration by stealing one of the schools vans.

Now on the road, he bobbed and weaved through traffic towards the location he?d been given; it was lucky that Sierra hadn?t got too far, otherwise the local police might?ve stopped Viktor before he got there. Hissing in pain as the sun began to burn the top of his exposed head and hands. Idiot! It?s daytime! Gloves on, hood up!/ Ignoring his own advice, he grabbed the pack from the passenger seat and dashed into the shadowed alleyway. Spotting Sierra, and an unknown figure crouching over her, he drew his gun, levelling the weapon at the person. ?No sudden moves friend.?

Gun still trained on the unknown male, Viktor made his way over, keeping a wary ear out for an ambush. Getting closer, he saw that, whomever this guy was, he at least appeared to be helping. Gesturing with his weapon, he indicated to a far wall. ?How ?bout you move your ass over there.? He said flatly. ?No sudden moves, and I won?t put any holes in you.?

"Yes, lets start the training people for life threatening situations, but having them start with a 'team coloring book'."

Well, great. Still, at least she somehow stopped Laura from speaking...and, at least snarking was better than just being plain insulting. Besides, snarking was an everyday thing around here (heck, half of the group were near constant dispensers of it), so one of the trainers doing it wasn't too bad.

"Ok, to answer all of your questions at once; First and for most, the paintballs. The substance in side, is, surprise surprise, enchanted. Specifically to 'attack' the nerves that control muscle movement in the arms and legs. Though I'm not sure how or if they'll even work on your 'golem'. But as long as there are nerves to attack, they will work."

Mirabelle duly noted the paintball information, figuring that even if it didn't affect her it was still good info to know. She also noted that Maria emphasized golem, as if she had a hard time believing her to be one. She wasn't too sure of what to make of that...on one hand, nobody else had questioned it before so it felt a little insulting to have it questioned now, yet on the other hand, Mirabelle found herself doing that at times as well, just to other people instead of herself. In the end, she figured that Maria wasn't trying to use it maliciously so she got over it. If she was going to do it to others, then she should expect it to happen to her in turn, right?

"Lastly, the forest is an 8 by 8 Kilometer square, the building should be fairly easy to find though."

"Ok, thank you.", she said sincerely. Now they would at least know how much they could work with. Of course, in the meantime, Sol and Juliet seemed to be discussing a plan...or rather, Juliet was discussing a plan and Sol was snarking from annoyance, after which he headed for the door.

'Hmm...maybe someone should go after him...just in case...', she thought, contemplating what could happen once he stepped out, with the absolute worse being a golem firing squad. She felt torn for a second, she wanted to ask how the golems would know where they were (i.e. sight-based or presence-sensing), but she also didn't want to just let Sol leave by himself...

Sighing to herself, she turned back to Maria and said, "I should go probably go with him. He is one of my teammates after all..." She then said, in a quieter tone and to herself, "Besides, this wouldn't be the first time i've been in such a situation...", before she ran and caught up with Sol, matching his stride.

"The Reality Marble we are currently in has a forest just out side the east doors. In it is a small building that has the item in question. A topaz stone. You are to go to this building, collect the stone and come back here."

Jarrah was surprised at, even with the paintball armed golems to deal with, how easy the task seemed, especially considering the mission was still fresh in his mind.

At the very least, it was nice that the 3rd trainer, Maria, had more of an air of professionality about her (snarkiness aside).

"Ok, to answer all of your questions at once; First and foremost, the paintballs. The substance inside, is, surprise surprise, enchanted. Specifically to 'attack' the nerves that control muscle movement in the arms and legs. Though I'm not sure how or if they'll even work on your 'golem'. But as long as there are nerves to attack, they will work."

'Damn, there goes that plan...' Jarrah's first idea after hearing that the golem's paintballs had a stunning agent was to 'liberate' the first golem he found of its gun and use it against them but now, considering that it was very unlikely that the golems had nerves, Jarrah was back to square one, which was 'Smash them like vaguely humanoid clay pots.'

"Lastly, the forest is an 8 by 8 Kilometer square, the building should be fairly easy to find though."

"So then the first step should be locating the building. I can try to spot it from the sky, and then we can form a plan of attack."

Juliet's plan was solid, no two ways about it, though Solomon seemed more content to to chuck a hissy and head for the door. Jarrah sighed, and, like Mirabelle, followed after Solomon and fell into step beside him.

"Hey, Sol I can fully understand you thinking this drill is a crock, but you really want to go out and get shot up by some paintball toting pottery just to prove a point?" He said, hoping to appeal to Solomon's sense of humor (if nothing else).

Noticing Mirabelle and Jarrah following him, Sol started feeling a bit guilty.

"Hey, Sol I can fully understand you thinking this drill is a crock, but you really want to go out and get shot up by some paintball toting pottery just to prove a point?"

He stopped, and turned to Jarrah, speaking to him and Mira while looking back and forth between them. Grinning, he spoke.

"Well of course not," Sol said, and scratched his slightly visible stubbles. "I'd love a well thought out plan, no question. More so than what Juliet was offering, something that'd cover everyone, make it clear what we're supposed to do, while still have the ability to do something within that, to give us an option to act in case the plan fails." He then shrugged.

"However, this is a bad time to do that, and a bad task. The best plan in this would be to send out Juliet and Jack, Juliet to look for the building, and Jack to get inside with his shadow-magic-skills, get the topaz, and get the heck out of there. We could have another person, Juliet again, stand on guard in case something happen, she could just swoop in, help Jack and make sure the topaz gets here, and then get it done with. Simple. Someone else, like you Jarrah, could also do that."

He crossed his arms, assured that it would do the trick. At least with as much information as they had been given. Then he looked a bit sullen again.

"But that's not how we're doing it, that's not "teamwork", it's assessing someone's abilities and picking the right people for the job. And that's bad to these guys-" he motioned towards the trainers "of course it is, because it's logical and simple. So, to answer your question, I don't want to get shot up by a golem just to prove a point, I'm going to get hit by a paintball because that's what these guys want, that's teamwork."

Smiling warmly, to make it clear that it was not because of the others in the group that he felt frustrated, he added;

"I'm sorry for making this much noise about it, though. I'm no good with accepting nonsense situations."
