The bar Juliet had found was full of noise and color, people danced on the open floor, in one corner some people embarrassed themselves doing karaoke, and all throughout people were talking and enjoying themselves. Juliet herself sat by the bar far enough from the dance floor that she could hear people talking over the music and noise of the crowd. She'd already had a couple drinks, courtesy of a few individuals vying for her attention.
Meanwhile, Sol and Luke had gone from the dorm party to the bar, both intending to get some time alone and because Sol had decided it was time to up the amount of drinking a little, most of the party-goers had gone on to bars after a while either way. It wasn't every day he got to survive fighting satan, and he was sure to celebrate.
It was after having a couple of shots he suddenly had a rather amusing idea, and thought it was difficult talking Luke into it at first, making a rather risque promise helped his case, finally making the other allow it. It was just a silly thing, something Sol wanted to do just to try it out.
"I promise you, I can totally do it."
"And I told you, it's fine. Just..." Luke made a gesture with his hand, trying to make it mean something before chuckling, drunkenly. "Geddit over with."
"I'll take so many pictures," Sol said, and stood up, leaning on the crutches, if he was going to do this he needed something to actually use. In the corner of his eye, he spotted Juliet.
"Oh, hey, perfect. She'll have some. I think..." he smirked, warmly, and made his way over to her, surprisingly graciously for a man on crutches and clearly too much alcohol in his system.
"Hey, Juliet!"
Juliet was surprised to see Sol, along with a man she assumed to be his boyfriend, particularly since a club was typically no place for someone using crutches.
"Sol, good to see you up and about," she said then glanced over at Luke "and who is this you're with?"
"Oh, that's Luke," he said. "He's my boyfriend, though, don't tell people. Not that it matters, I'm sure it's pretty obvious either way, but ya know. It's a little... to him. Anyhow, I was gonna ask you..." his expression turned mischevious. "You wouldn't happen to have makeup on you, right? I need to borrow some."
"I've got some in my purse," she said, raising an eyebrow "why?"
"Oh, don't worry, I'm not going to ruin it, and I'll make sure to wash it. Believe it or not, I know how to use it. I," he glanced at Luke, who waved nervously back. "I'm going to put makeup on Luke. Because why the fuck not, I'm drunk, he's drunk, and he'd be adorable. Not like a girl, god no, but I mean. How often do you get the chance to put makeup on a werewolf?" He looked back at Juliet. "Oh, and you can join, if you'd want to."
She laughed at this "Sure you can borrow it, I think I'll pass on joining though, doesn't sound like my thing," she said, digging a make up kit out of her purse and handing it to him, she smirked "send me some pictures afterwards, I want to know how it turns out."
"Sure," he smirked. "If Luke agrees." He looked through her kit, and smirked. "This will be interesting." Sol was about to walk away, when he remembered something. Raising an eyebrow, his tone shifted to a more serious one. He made sure no one around them were paying attention, then addressed her.
"Oh. Right. Juliet, I don't know what you were doing in the demon realm, but I know that it wasn't right. With the way you focused on the other demon, the one not our target, referring to it as a traitor. Call it instinct." He leaned on the crutches, looking almost relaxed where he stood. "Honestly though, I don't know what you were planning, and I don't know what you're planning to do with it. However, I don't particularly care either. Demon politics are demon politics, they interest me even less than normal politics, so don't worry about me going around telling people, I don't see a reason to. Only..."
He jerked his head towards Luke. "I've found something I want to protect at this school, something precious to me. And I'm not just talking about Luke. Threaten this place, and we'll have an issue, okay?" he smiled, locking eyes with her. Behind the friendly, drunken part of them, there was a sort of deviousness and calm that suggested he was less laidback than he seemed.
Juliet was somewhat surprised by the sudden shift in tone, but she managed to smile and nod.
"Don't worry, that was old business from before I came up here," she said "I'm sorry I got distracted by revenge, but trust me it won't come to bite us here."
"Good, anyhow, gotta go, else Luke will wonder why I'm spending so much time and change his mind. Thanks for this." He winked, before loudly -damn crutches were difficult to use with something in your hand- walking over to Luke again, showing him the makeup and starting to put it on. None of the people around them were paying any attention either way, and the light wasn't that bad. Sol wasn't quite ready to let go of his suspicions just yet, but he wasn't going to hassle Juliet.
I'll just have to keep my eye out.
No need to be a bastard about it, after all. Could be nothing, and then he'd look like a jerk.
Juliet kept smiling as Sol walked away, they look cute together, she noted before her thoughts turned to Sol's comment. Was he suspicious of her? If so he had a weird way of expressing it, almost as though he was but didn't care at the same time. Maybe I should keep an eye on him, or at least tread more carefully around him... She had perhaps overextended her hand in the demon realms when it came to fighting Ruk but it had worked out well enough on the whole. Not like he has anything to worry about right now anyways, with Ruk dead I've got no orders until Ansoth contacts me.
Her thoughts were interrupted by another offer to buy her a drink, she smiled and accepted, the night was still young and she was hungry, there would be time enough to concern herself with such things later.
