Elizabeth
Elizabeth hadn't expected Lenah to just leave, but she wasn't that surprised either. From what she had heard from Sol, Lenah had a habit of being irresponsible and doing whatever she wanted. Of course, what Sol didn't seem to realize, was that he had similar traits, even if he claimed otherwise. Nonetheless, after a brief explanation to someone wondering what a hunter was doing there -to which she had replied; "looking for that other hunter of yours"- she had travelled with Sierra.
It had been a quiet trip. Sierra had gone to sleep instantly, and Elizabeth sort of envied the ability to sleep that easily. It might have been because of the injuries, but she remembered bleeding harshly, being in a feverish haze, but still not managing to sleep. She hadn't managed to sleep on the trip to Japan either, only sort of dozed off for a brief moment in the middle of the flight. It didn't help that she was a little worried. Not necessarily about Sol's abilities, but rather his inability to understand his responsibilities.
I just wish he could understand how important he is.
He was her family's sole heir, even if he wasn't connected to Elizabeth or her grandfather by blood. She was sure it had not been an easy choice to become a hunter -she had seen the hesitation of accepting such a responsibility- , and certainly not to decide to stay with Elizabeth, but he had elected to do so, and he had started using their name, Thorn, on his own. He wasn't someone with a rare, special skill or magic abilities, he couldn't even possess a magic bone in his body, but he was Sol, her student. And she had to ensure her techniques lived on, simple as that.
Of course, she would have to teach him them first, he only knew the very basics, because he kept taking jobs out of the US. She felt like sighing.
This is a nightmare. He's hopeless.
Eventually, they got to the camp, and they quickly ran into another woman. Elizabeth wasn't sure exactly what it was, but she knew the other wasn't a human, there was... a spark of magic? Or something, she wasn't sure if she had ever felt something similar. However, she listened to the girl's explanation of the current events, being updated wasn't a bad thing, even if she had little interest in the details of the operation.
"And before you jump to conclusions, their both responsible, not just Viktor. We don't need anymore arguing, accusations, or blaming, especially after two of our three professionals decided to take potshots at each other, souring the general mood. At least we can trust Sol to stay on task..."
"Duly noted," Elizabeth replied. It might not have been aimed at her, but she understood that there was a time and place for everything, and that talking to Seth would have to wait. She felt some pride in hearing about Sol, though she pushed it away quickly.
"Um...anyways, nice to meet you. My name is Mirabelle...I don't actually know where Sol is but Seth should still be in the Main tent. I can take you there then go and find Sol if you want."
"It is nice to meet you too, and that's okay. I should talk to Sol before I decide to go to his employer," she said, looking around. Hopefully Sol would see her if she didn't see him first. Despite being a little shorter than him -she was about 6' feet- she still knew he would recognize her from a distance. Not a lot of people wore a long leather-coat or high boots.
She was about to step away from the others when she saw him, hair messy as always, and what looked like a very tired expression on his face.
"Sol!"
She could almost see his ears perk up, and he looked back and forth, a little stressed. Elizabeth gave him a quick wave, finally getting his attention.
"I'm over here." He looked as if he contemplated running away, but finally decided to try to salvage the situation -aka, hinder her in yelling at him- and stepped close with a quick pace. Then, without warning, he put his arms around her, and pulled her in for a hug. Elizabeth had expected a hug, but not that suddenly, and not without a single hello. Normally, she had a way to handle hugs, as she only tolerated them because Sol insisted, and it was through mentally counting to three, then let go. However, this time she simply let him stand there, carefully brushing his hair. Because Sol wasn't like this, not normally, and she had seen him smile through bad situations before, joke about the time a slug-man -it hadn't exactly been a slug, but she didn't care to correct his story when he told others about it- had almost murdered him.
Finally, he let go. "Hi," he said, and smiled, a sort of forced smile she'd rather have been without. "You didn't need to come all this way, Master. And you certainly didn't need to bring Sierra along, she's hurt.
Elizabeth shrugged. "Well, you weren't there, and she was on her way here. Is everything well?" He looked like he was thinking about it for a brief moment.
"Uh, not really. I fell asleep in a tree, and now everything aches. Especially my neck," Sol said, complaining, though it was clear that wasn't the only thing. She wanted to ask about more, but not in front of the others. Elizabeth turned to Sierra and Mira, one more thing and then she could take Sol aside.
"Thanks for your help, though I have one more thing I want to ask about. Could you tell Seth I'm here, and that I want to talk to him later?"
In the background, they could see Sol just sort of shrug, though whether it was him approving, or him simply not fighting it, was unclear.
