They may have to spread to PS3 to keep afloat soon if they keep pumping out mediocre titles.

Epic can certainly make games for PS3, just not Gears of War.

See man, I don't think some you you people are getting this concept. If Microsoft, Nintendo, or Sony publish any game for their system then that game WILL NEVER APPEAR on ANY other system EVER. Microsoft Games published Gear of War 1 and 2 and will publish Gear of War 3. They OWN the rights, forever and ever. Just like WipeOut HD will NEVER appear on the 360, forever and ever until the end of time. Just like Zelda will NEVER appear on the PS3, forever and ever until the end of time. See?

Yes, because it would be so unlike Microsoft to expand on the selling potential of one of their most profitable titles. : / You know, in a business like the gaming industry, the big companies don't care so much about "staying loyal to the fans" if you will. Just look at FF XII. SE knew they would end up with some flack from the more stupid FF fans. But the game can, and will sell much more being on both platforms.

Don't rule it out, is all I'm saying. I already said I think it's unlikely. And I'm sure it won't. But your rant about the PS3 being an "epic fail" has already given me an opinion your credibility, so excuse me if i don't take your "they own the rights" argument as red.

Nope. Sorry. Not Happening. Microsoft will not put any of its games on the PS3. Sony is having sales trouble with its games, they cant push enough consoles to sell games. So why in gods name would Microsoft put its first party IP's on a SYSTEM THAT CANT EVEN KEEP ITS MAJOR EXCLUSIVE TITLES (DMC4, FF13, and KINGDOM HEARTS 3(yeah, its gonna be on the 360)just to name a few.)? They wouldnt. End of story.

I mean come on! Look at the PS3's sales and look at the 360's sales. The PS3 barely amounts to half of the 360's sales. I like the PS3. I have 1. There just arent enough of them on thhe market to make this a good decision. We'll see MGS4:GOTP on the 360 before we see Halo 3 on the PS3.

I will rule it out, because it is impossible.

I said that PS3 was an "Epic Fail"? WTF? I never said that. I own a Ps3. I did say that. And no, Microsoft is not ever going to let a game that they funded with their money appear on the competitions console. Gears of War, like Halo, is fueling the very success of the 360. To let it go on the PS3 would take away an edge that Microsoft enjoys very much. So again, forget about it.

So why in gods name would Microsoft put its first party IP's on a FAILING SYSTEM? They wouldn't. End of story.

PS3 is not failing. Just to let you know. It's games sell in the millions. So don't pass around FUD about the PS3.

As already stated in this thread, it's got contributions from Microsoft Gaming Studios. So the chances are slim. But then again, I'm not sure how many people saw FF XII's announcement that it would be on the 360 coming.

I see the majority are saying no chance in hell, but when I see Bioshock coming to PS3 and FF13 going to 360 and rumors of MGS4 going to 360, it just makes me wonder.

None of these games mentioned above are published by Microsoft or Sony. They are published by independent companies that can publish their games on any system they want to. It is possible, unlikely, but possible that MGS4 can appear on the 360. Why is this? Because Sony does not publish the game, Konami does. Did anyone here bother to read this?

You are right for the most part. However, if history has taught us anything...Never say never. Who would have thought that we'd see Sonic or other Sega characters on any other game system then a Genesis or Dreamcast?

First, its possible that if Epic decides not to make Gears 3 without making it multiplatform, Microsoft could back down.

Also, b/c Sony or Microsoft "publishes" the game, doesn't mean they have long term rights to it. Like a writer switching book publishers after their contract is up. There was awhile talk of the God of War franchise going mutliplatform. According to the stories I heard, it was published by Sony, but the David Jaffe still had rights to it. Maybe the same for Halo, Gears, Resistance, ect.

However, Mario and Zelda characters are owned by Nintendo, but God-knows what crazy thing Nintendo may do next. Remember, they allowed their content to be used for games for the CD-I.

Technically, it's more than possible, though from what I've heard Unreal Engine 3 is not too friendly to the PlayStation 3's architecture (as it was designed with the PC and Xbox 360 in mind). However, it'll never happen because as far as Gears is concerned, Epic is a second-party Microsoft developer. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a lazy PC port a year from now due to Microsoft's "strong support" of the PC as a gaming platform, but if it happens it won't be Epic doing it.

Honestly, I don't care. Epic is dead to me. Gears is a decent game but had tons of problems, and Epic's caught up in their own fantasy universe where all of a sudden they're the most important and talented developers on the planet, despite the fact that Gears sucks from a design standpoint and Unreal Tournament 3, though a good game, was a buggy mess with a terrible interface and a severe shortage of maps when it was first released (not to mention failing on its promise to offer a quality single-player mode); hell, a year later and we've only got three patches, all of them still failing to address key issues like stability, performance and interface options that were standard for the PC years ago. They just don't care anymore; they're riding so high on their financial success that they don't realise how far they've fallen in producing games.

And even if it did, I don't think it'll do that well in terms of sales because the vast majority of PS3 owners (myself included) will see it for what it is, a mediocre third person shooter and want nothing to do with it, or it will most likely be yet another half assed port to the PS3 leaving in the 360 format and will result in frame rate hickups, couple of bad bugs here and there..And when the poor bastards that do buy it will scream complaints, the developers will just point at the PS3 and say it's the machines not the lack of effort put into making a proper port.

Man, did you even read my post above? Not to be egotistical, but I all ready definitively answered this thread. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE. The Gods of Sky and Earth would have to come down and literally change reality to make this happen. As in it will NEVER happen.

No, I am not being arrogant, I am being realistic. This is not "hypothetical". This is reality and the reality of the situation is that Gears of War will never come out for the PS3.
