Gears 2 for PS3????

If Gears comes out for Ps3 i will be shocked, but I will be happy because it will allow more people to play it, thus ending the rants of the Jaded PS3 fans who hate GOW.

But in a logical sort of way I highly aporetic about it because Microsoft is co-producing and publishing it, and I doubt they will be willing to fork out the franchise to Sony.
the only way this is conceivably possible is that EPIC terminates its contract with M$, buys the rights for full distribution of the title, and then redesigns the game from the ground up for the PS3.

The "never say never" and "you never know what the future holds" excuse. The ONLY way that the PS3 could get Gears is if Microsoft and Sony decide to start working together, and frankly, that is about as likely as Iran, Iraq, Israel, and Saudi Arabia combining to become a single nation. Hell, I could say that "world peace" is likely using this retarded excuse, but it won't happen. They have no reason to, and they don't even want to. Sony and Microsoft are major competitors, they won't be working together anytime soon, and they damn sure won't be giving away their potential customers by swapping exclusives that they published.

The "well, Sonic is on Nintendo consoles" excuse. People, the point has not only clearly gone over your head, it is now in the upper atmosphere. The Sega/Nintendo and Microsoft/Sony thing are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Sega was in the hole. Their consoles weren't selling enough units to keep them afloat, and they were focusing on too many at one time. They decided to leave the console business because they couldn't keep up and were losing tons of money. However, they didn't want to leave the game industry, they knew how lucrative it could be. So they decided to stay in the software market and just make games for other consoles. Now, unless you expect Sega to make games for the ImaginaryCubeStation 2, then they sorta have to make games on consoles like the GameCube or Wii. They didn't chose this because they wanted to. They chose it because they were making less money than a hooker with gonorrhea, syphilis, and herpes in the console market. Towards the end of the Dreamcast they were selling only a few units a month, if that. They couldn't afford to keep making consoles, but they could afford to keep making games and put them on other consoles.

The "well, Unreal Tournament is on the PS3" excuse. Cocking Hell people, UNREAL TOURNAMENT 3 IS NOT PUBLISHED BY MICROSOFT. What part of that is so hard to understand?

Lastly, I assume that the references to the PC version of Gears of War is "proof" that it will come to the PS3. I won't even dignify that excuse with a proper response because it is so stupid. It is like me saying that because a Mario game for the GameCube gets a DS port then that is proof that it will come to the PSP.

Again, no matter how hard you try to twist the very fabric of reality with these weak excuses, it just will not happen.

So, for the last time, Gears of War coming to the PS3 is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

Well considering you can download torrents onto the PS3 harddrive.

You can download emulators onto the PS3 harddrive.

Then obviously when an emulaor comes out for 360, Gears2 will be on PC and PS3.... technicly.

Sorry if this has already been done but in the "Is the Wii becoming the Gamecube" forum there was a slightly off topic discussion about Gears of war 2 coming to PS3. Is this possible? I know it is unlikely but if anyone has any reasoning or proof for or against this then I would like to see it. Links appreciated.

I am calm, it is just that caps and sarcasm are the only way that 90% of people on the Internet will ever read anything. There are still people in this topic who honestly are trying to argue that Gears of War will come to the PS3, and are using some pretty crappy excuses to argue their point.

In the end, these people are only setting themselves up for disappointment by making up random excuses that twist reality. It just will not happen. If you want Gears, just buy a 360 instead of blindly waiting for the port that isn't coming.

The game is NEVER coming to the PS3 and i'm not saying that as a 360 owner...

Gears is published by MICROSOFT so it won't go anywhere that isn't associated with MICROSOFT...like nintendo or sony...WITHOUT MICROSOFTS permission. Since Sony is their biggest rival, MICROSOFT would never let their main franchise go to the enemy console...

Just like Halo will never go anywhere other than microsoft consoles/PC. Even though its made by Bungie, it is a MICROSOFT title and WILL NOT come to any othoer systems...

Dear lord the morons from IGN have migrated over to this forum.... The Gears Of War IP is owned by Microsoft, but Epic has the trilogy development contract. Just like when it comes to the Halo IP, and Bungie. you will never see any exclusive 360 games migrate since Microsoft knows what they are doing( Don't even start on BioShock, that was a timed exclusive from the get-go). The reason Sony is losing all their exclusives is because they got complacent last gen, and refused to think about the future by contractually binding their popular series. In all honesty I regret buying my PS3(even though I bought it from a friend at half the MSRP) simply because it's obvious Microsoft is playing to win. Sony thinks they have loyal customers, but you can only smack people around so much before they turn on you. With the 360 at a reasonable $200, and the upcoming Blu Ray expansion, Sony is in deep trouble. Whoever thought Resistance 2, and a sequel to a lackluster mediocre game(Killzone 2) was competition for this holiday season is going to lose their job!

Killzone 2 doesn't count; it comes out in February 2009, after the 2008 Holiday season.

Though, MOST of the big, highly anticipated games this holiday season are multi-platform. The only big 360 exclusives are Gears of War 2 and Fable 2...Though, they certainly are juggernauts. Sony's potential big sellers this holiday are Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, and possibly SOCOM: Confrontation (Assuming they can get the fucking servers fixed and stable between now and the Apocalypse...).
