I don't do any sports perse.......
Though I like some enough to participate every now and then.

I do work out to keep in shape......All that sitting in front of the screen is bad for your posture.

I jog a little to stay in shape, but I wouldn't call myself an athlete.

I run occasionally, I walk everywhere, and I exercise when I've got nothing to do. I'm no athlete, but I'm not sitting on my ass eating Pop Tarts either.

I'm content with that.

I go to the gym at least 3 times a week, not really into competitive sports though. When you sit around on the computer/console as much as we geeks do you really should find yourself some sort of sport activity to keep you fit and healthy.

I'm a geek that loves to debate copyright law.

I also can jog for a good hour and a half without feeling winded in the slightest.

I hold a third degree black belt in Goju Ryu style karate and I hit the gym at least 3 times a week.

So yeah, geeks are athletes.

Well you aren't alone.

I'm a swimmer at approximately the same level you are in rowing (except in Australia). Like rowing, swimming requires a great amount of dedication etc. I also used to (don't have time any more) play basketball at a fairly high level as well.

But I am also a massive nerd. So who knows?

Not neccesarily an avid sports man, or professional athlete, however i do well for myself.

In my youth, I went everywhere on my bike and ended up being one of the best cross country riders for my age. At the same time i was doing archery. This is my 8th year in that sport and so far I have represented Australia twice and been consistently used as an example of "good form"

I'm not much of a fan of sports, but I love biking, and I can bike for hours at a time at quite a decent speed.

Well I wont say I'm much of an athlete, but I do admit I am very active. When I'm not playing video games, trying to make failed board games, play DnD, lurk on forums, etc. I go out and have adventures! Just not so much in the heat. More in the middle of the night where it's cool and nice. But if a friend asks to play sports, am I in? Yes. And like many before me have already said, I think Hollywood just makes the nerd seem like it's more common than it actually is. I for one don't actually know any of these types of people. Just sayin'.

Does playing football (a.k.a soccer) twice a week for 2 1/2 hours each day, playing American football once a week for 2 hours, road bike riding, free-running/doing parkour and mountain biking count?
