Ahh there's something I can pretty much agree with. More so with a lot of smaller gallery artists. There is a lot of really popular contemporary artists who really just make me furious with the crap that gets accreditation, especially when it comes attached with political connotations. There is however some really great work being produced currently but I would say that that is because the better pieces are heavily design oriented instead of narrative driven.

It's a complete myth that Xbox Live is just full of abusive 12 year old racist homophobes. It completely depends on the type of game you play. I've played on XBL ever since the 360 first came out and I've never ever received any kind of direct abuse at all, and I've only ever seen it happen to other people on less than about 10 occasions. It's also never been on the level of stuff you usually hear about. The shit you see is the communities of certain games, not XBL as a whole!

Film and video games are a stupid, asinine wast of time and represent the dumbing of humanity. You can get more out of reading Twilight than seeing every Criterion movie or playing every art game.

You can check MRI's of people reading vs playing games or watching movies. Their brains simply aren't as active. Films can only connect emotionally.

I hate the Indiana Jones films: he's a shit character, the films may be escapist fun, but they just wind me up - they're inconsistent, and there really isn't any coherent plot
Steven Spielberg is a crap director: everything he does, he annoys me. He can take a good thing and make it awful (Jaws, War of the Worlds), and Jurassic Park I can still watch, but damn he tried his hardest to make everyone hate kids, and made Sam Neill's character a massive tosser.

I hate receiving christmas presents, and in fact the idea of giving presents on days because of tradition, especially Valentine's day (I did a radio show on that subject, but then I had got dumped that Valentine's, and my show was 2 days after, so I was pretty fucking bitter) but the whole idea of giving rewards for not actually accomplishing anything, and in the case of Valentine's day condensing all your love into one day meaning that the rest of the year is either just a letdown or neglect... Sorry, lost where this tangled mess of a sentence was going...

I really violently dislike Adele: I was forced to listen to her live lounge session in the bar when I was playing darts one night, and her voice was wavery (she couldn't hold a note), all the songs sounded exactly the same and they weren't good, they were just generic and uninventive, completely uninspiring, and lyrically pretty poor
I don't like Half Life 2 or TF2, the former just doesn't click with me, and the latter just never seemed properly balanced

I think religion CAN be good when operating on a individual-small community basis.
Valve is pretty swell.
Mass Effect (all of them) are not that good (Not sure about my grammar there)

How exactly would opposing abortion NOT somehow be for controlling women? If you ban abortion you're kind of controlling their actions in some manner.

Let me be more specific then. Opposing abortion does not mean you want to control everything women do and it does not mean that the sole reason for opposing it is to control them. Also that argument works for a lot of things that are currently in place in society that nobody complains about.

I'm aware that there are a number of posters on this site that like to claim that if you oppose abortion, then you hate women. Full stop. And that's BS in my opinion.
