Well, it goes like this, desktop computer is old, while I love it, it's shit. So, I got a new computer, but it's a netbook. My problem pretty much lies in the fact that my old computer wasn't good enough and didn't perform well enough to meet the standards needed for the FPSes. My netbook lacks a mouse and a CD drive (I have an external one however) and it's not exactly a large screen so it also doesn't have what I want it to have so I don't play them. Also when I did play them I didn't spend enough time learning the controls and setting my hands out so I was efficient enough. Consoles were simpler for that.Nigh Invulnerable said:Wait...FPSes don't work on PCs?!? Is your mouse broken? I sat down and played some Halo 3 the other day with friends and realized how much nicer a mouse is for fine aiming. Yeesh.
OT: I really don't care for MMORPGs. I've tried a couple, like DDO, but they can't hold a candle to just playing D&D with my wife and friends. Maybe it's cause I'm always the DM and can't stand letting a program tell me what's possible in the game world.
Ah, so it's really more of a "my hardware can't run most FPSes" issue than one of PCs being worse. Assuming you had a rig that could run your shooters just fine, I'd imagine you'd prefer it over console shooters. I do agree that consoles are essentially a great equalizer for all players. The Unworthy Gentleman said:Well, it goes like this, desktop computer is old, while I love it, it's shit. Yeah, pretty much. I just seen consoles as more cost effective and efficiient over a PC that I would have to upgrade to work with the few FPSes that I had. I'm about to start fixing up a broken PC that I still need to buy. When that's done I'll play them on that, then I'll make my real judgement.Nigh Invulnerable said:Ah, so it's really more of a "my hardware can't run most FPSes" issue than one of PCs being worse.
