Seriously. I never heard anybody say bad things about JRPGs in general until Yahtzee came around. Now everybody fucking hates them. It's kind of disappointing.

I could never understand stealth games IMO as their controls are usually awkard for example,in MGS2 to aim any assault rifle you had to LIGHTLY hold the square button, to fire press it harder. tghis is awkward because it's hard to tell how hard to press the button.

I don't HATE any, but I've discovered I have little patience for any RPG or sports game, and I find MMO's like Runescape and WoW a tad slow.

Curses, I am ever late to parties. That was the exact joke I was going to make, sans everything after "Awesome, look at all those buttons..." And forget using no addons, why does a Holy paladin have aura mastery all the way over there and exorcism so close? Ha ha, I just couldn't resist opening myself up to insults.

I, like many, do not outright hate any genres, but some of them I just cannot wrap my head around properly using the controls. That list is embarrassingly large, so let's just go with what seems to be the best answer: Sports Games!

the generic brown FPS: you play as soldier X fighting in war Y, I would like to see some variation where you play as a complete dick that only fights for his/her own good like Duke Nukem I also hate sports games they remain the same no matter how many years pass like FIFA or Madden

I still like some JRPGS like Earth Bound maybe its because 90% of the JRPGS follow a emo kid

I despise RPGs that include no role-playing. You know, the kind that simply force your stats up, giving you no control over how they increase, and that send you from quest to quest while you sit there and use menus to order your character to let you watch him/her attack or heal their teammates. During all of this, you go through a linear (and usually shitty) storyline that you can not affect, and you feel as if this would be better as a TV show or a summer action movie.

Funny, that's the basic set up of Dragon Age 2. You have no customization over your character, and proceed down a linear story. I want to see all the people who praise it as a brilliant departure from the norm and a fully-voice and much better mapped-out story, and then see what percentage of those people also RAEG over JRPGs.

I'm really starting to hate Realistic Shooters and Stealth focused games (like MGS, not Assassin's Creed). The realism in some games is starting to get in the way of my fun.

I've always disliked sports games for the reason's said above. Other than that, I'll play just about any genre.

PC FPS games. They just don't work if you ask me, it shouldn't be a continuing market. FPS should be limited to console. Similarly, console RTS games should be stopped. They also do not work and should be limited to PC.

Wait...FPSes don't work on PCs?!? Is your mouse broken? I sat down and played some Halo 3 the other day with friends and realized how much nicer a mouse is for fine aiming. Yeesh.

OT: I really don't care for MMORPGs. I've tried a couple, like DDO, but they can't hold a candle to just playing D&D with my wife and friends. Maybe it's cause I'm always the DM and can't stand letting a program tell me what's possible in the game world.

I absolutely despise fighting games. I've played SSBB, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 2, and Soul Calibur and I just don't like them at all. Maybe it's the button combination memorization or the huge variety of strategies to use, but it's all overwhelming and it just isn't fun.

You're right; it's the turn-based combat I don't like. I consider turn-based combat a necessary evil in tabletop games, and have little tolerance for it in a medium that can handle real-time combat. In BioWare's old Baldur's Gate games, I did like the ability to pause the game and give each character instructions, but then I could unpause it and they would all go to it until I told them otherwise or the combat ended.

Thanks for the tip on White Knight Chronicles! From the trailer, it looks like the combat's a little closer to something like WoW, which is fine with me. I'll have to see if I can hunt it down...
