The only genre that I don't actively play are Sports games, so I guess that would be the answer. I'm really a Jack of all trades, and am at least decent and enjoy pretty much every genre.

JRPGs, sports games (they're bloody pointless!), fighting games and many Wii games.

Wait a sec!!!

Ok, I'm good.

Realistic FPS. Not to sound ignorant but too many are similar. How exactly is the new Medal of Honor unique from Modern Warfare 2? Keep in mind this is coming from someone who adored Call of Duty 4's multiplayer on the 360, but it's got to end sometime. It's things like this never ending trend of Hyper realistic first person shooters that keep me playing the classic games of yester year. Not like it's a bad thing, those games are genuinely fun, and I don't find 'military-bro shooter 59' fun.

On that note, every genre has their downsides, but I'd say I generally like all genres. Even the genre every one loves to hate, sports games. I just don't get a new copy of a sports game every year (I'm playing NHL 99 on my N64 right now)

None really, I like at least one or two games from most genres. And if I don't like a genre, I simply stay away from it.

For example, I'm not the biggest fighting game fan, although I like the odd Soul Calibur game. Other than that, I simply stay away from them. I understand they have a fan base, so I don't wish the untimely demise of anything involved with it, I simply don't play the games.

And yes, that was a direct jab at the people who do that exact thing with JRPGs.

Most genres I'm Ok with, at least on a curiosity level. Except sports (Racing does not count as sport).

I find it intersting how many people share my dislike for sports around here.

I'm not particularly drawn to sports games - mostly because I'm not really into sports - though I've played a few enjoyable ones. I like RTS games, though I'm not terribly good at them.

Personally, I can't stand JRPGs. I love RPGs (both pencil-and-paper tabletop stuff and BioWare's games), so I thought I would enjoy JRPGs. I couldn't understand why, when they had the capacity to run simultaneous realtime combat, JRPGs would choose to depict combat as "you move and strike, then the next guy moves and strikes," ad nauseum.

The unskippable cutscenes weren't much of a plus, either, and that's coming from a guy who likes cutscenes. Granted, that's a criticism that can be leveled against many games, but JRPGs introduced me to them.

Add to that the nuttiness I don't really like in the vast majority of anime, and I've got a recipe for something that brings me no entertainment.

If you like them - more power to you, man. Somebody's got to.

I despise FPSs due to most being incredibly overated for example every COD game. All of which are pretty much the same with no gameplay differences whish amazes me why people love them so much.

also big RPGs such as Oblivion and Fallout, Mainly because they are too big and so full of nothingness. Oblivion and Fallout especially for their bad game design, in both i managed to get stuck with no possible way out within about half an hour of playing.
Big RPGs seem to concentrate on size more than quality of gameplay

I also second the millions who said JRPGs. Same bullshit, different box art.
I lol'd this statement. That's like saying Persona 3, Tales of the Abyss and Disgaea are the same game. XD

Sounds like you're not a big fan of turn based combat.

Might I recommend White Knight Chronicles? The combat is all action and movement based. It's not so much turn based, though there is an action gauge that needs to build up before striking you can still execute combos and don't have to deal with waiting.

Plus the graphics aren't anime like at all and the story is pretty serious.

Here's a gameplay trailer, worth a shot.

I dont like casual games, RTS, and sport games. At first when i was younger, i used to love JRPGs but now, they just got old, none of them are really good no more, the last JRPGs i liked was final fantasy 12 and lost odyssey.

Everyone who's said JRPG is an idiot. That's not a genre and don't delude yourself with that roleplaying crap. Role Playing in video games doesn't exist. All we have are choose your own adventures, not role playing. Dungeons and Dragons is actual role playing.

Anyways, the only genre I don't like are adventure games because they're not really games. Unless you can lose, it's just a long puzzle. I also don't like very many turn-based tactics games because they're too easy and lack strategy. They need to learn from Magic or even Yugioh because those are good turn based tactics games.

the point of any language is to get an idea/message across to another person. You are the idiot for trying to break down a standard classification of a game everyone understands with weak reasoning.

Anway i just cant stand Platformer games (Prince of Persia, Jak) tried them just found them to be boring

No, you're using weak reasoning. My point still stands that JRPGs are not a genre and, in a discussion about genres, using a name that doesn't classify the type of gameplay shows what little the person knows.

I was going to say "sports" at first, but I've enjoyed some basketball and golf games so I guess I can't be so generalized.
Think I have to go with Football games. They just don't do it for me, despite my having given them a chance multiple times.

A close second is war games like Call of Duty. Then again, I've played and enjoyed Gears of War &c so... yeah.
