I dont like sports games that much.........I mean if you want to play tennis or soccer go to a freaken park AND PLAY!!!. You cant say that for FPS though
Sure you can. It's called paintball. Of course there are differences between FPS games and paintball, but to say there's no difference between playing, say, MLB 10: The Show and playing in real life is outright ignorant.

Just go to a park and play soccer? It'd need to not be raining outside, and there'd have to be an available field, and I'd need to find a few friends to play it with at the drop of a hat (let alone the 21 I'd need for a full two teams).

Just go outside and play... hockey? It's summer, and indoor rink time costs money. No, roller/floor hockey is not quite the same.

In a baseball game I can control pitchers with a wide range of pitches to outwit batters with. One game I have a four-seam fastball, a slider and a circle change, another I'll have a cutter, curveball, splitter and a palmball. Do you want to try learning all those pitches in real life?

To say nothing of the fact that there's a limit to how much one can play real life sports over a given time because of fatigue.

As for genres I hate, I hate none. I've got better things to do than that.

well i suck at RTSs so i cant stand those(but i guess if i was better i could stand them more) Horror games, JRPGs(my cousin was always into Final Fantasy and similar games, but i was never a fan) Movie games, but i think that goes for every gamer on the earth.

Oh, I assumed music when I first saw the title... anyway... Certain RPGs. I can play Final Fantasy games and FPSRPGs, but the ones that are full of goblins, trolls, and all that other fairy shit is harder then hell for me to tolerate. Oh, and mostly all sport games. I can play BMX and snowboarding games, and I love skateboarding games, but all others are just boring.

\Also why do I think this will turn into a let's hate on JRPGs thread.
Because you're on the Escapist, that's why.

Seriously. I never heard anybody say bad things about JRPGs in general until Yahtzee came around. Now everybody fucking hates them. It's kind of disappointing.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed by that mentality with sports games. Of course, I don't enjoy sports games, but to argue that you'd might as well go and do the real thing is just stupid. It's just like the people who say that Guitar Hero players should just play real guitar. Completely illogical.

i just can't stand those final fantasy style "your turn-my turn" type of rpgs cause there is no action at all. Also, the my little pony series of video games are kinda bad too.

Everyone who's said JRPG is an idiot. That's not a genre and don't delude yourself with that roleplaying crap. Role Playing in video games doesn't exist. All we have are choose your own adventures, not role playing. Dungeons and Dragons is actual role playing.

Anyways, the only genre I don't like are adventure games because they're not really games. Unless you can lose, it's just a long puzzle. I also don't like very many turn-based tactics games because they're too easy and lack strategy. They need to learn from Magic or even Yugioh because those are good turn based tactics games.
the point of any language is to get an idea/message across to another person. You are the idiot for trying to break down a standard classification of a game everyone understands with weak reasoning.

Anway i just cant stand Platformer games (Prince of Persia, Jak) tried them just found them to be boring
No, you're using weak reasoning. My point still stands that JRPGs are not a genre and, in a discussion about genres, using a name that doesn't classify the type of gameplay shows what little the person knows.
all you've actually done is show everyone within the short time you've been on the escapist is that your an asshole by trying to insult peoples intelligence for no good reason.

That doesn't change my point. And don't say I'm insulting people's intelligentce for no reason because I did give a reason. It's still not a genre. Don't focus only on the idiot part.

Any fighting games that don't have "Super Smash Bros." in the title. And every single RTS out there.

I hate these both for one simple reason.
I suck at them.

Sports games (there's only so much innovation there, go out and play some ACTUAL sports)

Racing games (because going in a circle for 2 1/2 hours gets mundane REALLY fast)

FPS games (I've never been very good at them and they've never maintained my interest for lack of any in-depth strategy other than "load gun shoot this thing a bunch of times")

Anything with a grid-based battle system (GEDFNBWEDGVBEDHFVB don't get me started)

I don't hate sports games but my brother plays them exclusively and I don't understand how he can put up with it. IHAVE HEARD EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF COMMENTARY ON ABOUT 6 DIFFERENT BLODDY GAMES! IT DRIVES ME NUTS! Other than that not much else.
