Fighting games (besides Smash Bros.), racing games (besides Mario Kart), sports games, and FPSes (besides Valve games and maybe a few others).

MMORPGs. Wish companys would stop trying to make them and focus on the games they are known for. I'm looking at you Square Enix and Bioware.

I'm also getting tired of FPS' too.

Survival Horror: walk around and stuff jumps out at ya, then you press buttons to keep from dieing...

JRPGs: Not sure if the character is boy or girl, massive self esteem issues in main characters and surrounded by hot but insanely annoying supporting characters...

MMORPGs: Grind Grind Grind Grind Grind Grind Grind Grind Grind Grind ...

I despise RPGs that include no role-playing. You know, the kind that simply force your stats up, giving you no control over how they increase, and that send you from quest to quest while you sit there and use menus to order your character to let you watch him/her attack or heal their teammates. During all of this, you go through a linear (and usually shitty) storyline that you can not affect, and you feel as if this would be better as a TV show or a summer action movie.

but...but...
How can you NOT like Chrono Trigger?
OT: Sports Games, Sim racers, Sim(ulation) games, music games ( I do like an occasional song, but normally no), puzzles, and finally party games.
Sports-go outside. It has the best feature set
Sim racers-I like being able to drive by moving an along stick. I'll play ModNation, you get frustrated over Gran Turismo
Sim(ulation) games-Sim series specific-The "Fun with Pets" expansion (think about it for a second), others-I don't want to play a game of a person living a normal life. I already do that. Why would I escape from normal life to normal life?
Music games/puzzles-Repetitive. I'll admit I'm addicted to puzzle quest, and I will play the occasional game of guitar hero with friends. Puzzle quest-changes up. GH/RB with friends-laugh at each others failures. Most other things-OHHH look, more falling gems. *click. OHHH look, more falling gems *click click. Repeat
Party games-needs no further explanation. Only good one I've seen is Rayman Raving Rabbids. Those are wacky and weird. Most are boring and repetitive.
Note:party does not equal minigame collections. I like my WarioWare

I don't play sports games, so I can't say I hate them, but I don't buy them because I don't watch sports. Simple as. Can't enjoy a game I know nothing about. NHL games are good fun multiplayer though.

Not a great fan of anything based around war. Past, present or future. If I'm going to play a FPS, I'd rather it be with a plot like Resident Evil or Dead Space, where you're fighting something demonic, rather than killing your fellow man. I don't mind killing humans, but something always deters me from the theme of war.

I'm currently playing Lost Odyssey, but I generally don't do JRPGs for the reason that I start with light outside my window and finish when it's dark. I get too engrossed, but unlike most genres, I've barely progressed in the game at all.

I am fucking sick of Bioware RPGs. All these choices and dialogue options...not enough combat.

Bioware games have a lower gameplay/dialogue ratio than even some of the wordiest of JRPGs.

I'm not the twitch gamer who needs to kill one enemy every 10 seconds or his head explodes, but CHRIST! I enter a new town, and proceed to spend the next 2 hours talking to people, gathering sidequests, making deliveries for sidequests, and then moving onto the section of areas that progress the main story. And they're not even GOOD sidequests. Especially in Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2. Jade Empire had some fun ones, though.

Sure, they have "role playing", but that doesn't fix the fact that the conversations outside of your main squad are boring as hell. And that the dialogue options all flow into the same conversation towards the end.
Thissssssssssssssss, I can't even complete Mass Effect 2.

I'm getting awfully tired of FPS's also, just because they're all the fucking same, and no one is making the type of FPS I like. I want wall dodging, gibs, rockets and trash talk, not "prone is blocked", "+50", n0 Sc0P3zZzZz, kids whining and shotguns and shotguns and shotguns and shotguns and shotguns and shotguns and rapid fire controllers. Fuuuuck me.

Someone who doesn't like JRPG's or RTS's, what a breath of fresh air.

*Sigh*

Any game based on a rapper.

I hate Genre ationex. Always so sullen about everything. And they're not getting any younger, you know!
I see what you did there.

OT: Probably the only genre I really stay away from is side-on fighters as when I play them it mostly devolves to button mashing.

Why all the hate on JRPGs? My opinion on them is like that on anime. Most of them are god awful and painful, however there will always be a Cowboy Bebop and there will always be a Chrono Trigger.

OT: I hate casual games with a passion, mostly farmville though. I also find football and baseball games boring, but for some reason I like FIFA Street and most NHL games. Other than that I don't have a blind hatred for video games. I have to play them first.

EDIT: Also I hate realistic racing games. So damn boring. Give me powerups; give me weapons; give me an unreal speed trip. Thank you, Pyroblazer.

I don't see the hate on casual games. I'd say PacMan, Tetris, and several other classics are, or could, count as "casual" games. And hey, even if they're not going to change anything, they're at least gimmicky enough to be fun.
