JRPG's and sports games as well. I think it's still a lot better to actually play a sport instead of pushing some buttons and watching a screen.

And I also despise football (soccer, not the American football). Maybe it's because our national (Belgian) team is sucking tremendously, but I'm just not interested into it. Not even the slightest bit. Now tennis, there's a sport.

Most racing games aren't my cup of tea either, except the really good ones like DiRT 2. That game is just amazing.

I'm giving it another try but in the past I've never been able to get into RTS's. Possibly it's because I was never any good at them, but there's got to be more to it than that.

However, I doubt I'll ever be into fighting games. I used to love Mortal Kombat as a kid and play it in the arcade, but it died out and now I don't find any of them, even the best like Marvel vs. Capcom 2, very interesting or worth my time. This sort of follows with beat-em-ups, of which I have found the biggest current one, Castle Crashers, to be not so exciting either. However, I still love TMNT 2: Arcade Game for the NES. That game somehow never gets old to me.

*raises flame shield* I can't really get into Baldur's Gate 2.

I play it for a few hours straight, and it's fun. But then it just sits there for the next week or two before I figure I should play it because it's supposed to be good and I should finish it.

Progress is slow to say the least. Have had it for maybe a month or two now and I've only just finished the circus tent quest. (You know, the one that's maybe 30 minutes in? Without resting a couple billion times...)

I knew this thread would be full of people who don't like JRPGs.

Right now I'm finding it hard to get into anything RTS which is wierd because was my first love in gaming. I think my Ps2 & 3 have killed a bit of me and replaced it with an ak-47.

I also dislike JRPG's but not because of the turn based combat, huge sword or angsty teens, I just really don't like Japanese anime style artwork. There's a LOTR game that basically is a reskinned final fantasy and I enjoyed that.

Survival horror has never appealed to me.

I've also never been able to enjoy any 3D platformer (yes I've played psychonaughts and think it better than most but still poor, especially any 3D mario though I havent played the newer ones such as galaxy. And I'm not trying to say "they were much better in my day" Super Mario bros for the Ds is great.

Fighting games like Street Fighter and Tekken. I don't see the appeal at all. Same thing with Sport and music games.

Space Flight sims.

I just can't cope with having my screen filled with dozens of markers indicating where my enemies are and whatnot.

I know this is a site for gamers that game, but I'm still going to list in general the genres I can't get into.
TV/Movies/Books: Romance, Drama, Horror (Sometimes), Drama again because it sucks that much, anything that in any remote way reminds me of my own life.
Games: JRPG's... actually let's change that to any RPG (With some exceptions), Sports games, and a few individual titles (of genres that I otherwise would like) that I don't want to start a battle about so will remain nameless.

RTS and racing games.

I remember a friend of mine once described racing games to be like country and western music. You either like it or you don't. There's no real curve to slowly start liking it or getting into it. You just do.

He also compared fighting games to metal, because a lot of people don't like it that much when they first encounter it because they don't understand it. Then later on they'll find hidden depths that will have them keep on listening/playing. They both also have a really obsessive hardcore crowd that swears to their own number one fighting games series/band.

Forgot about Sports games. Mostly because they just do not register with me as something I'd even be remotely interested. Don't do sports at all.

You really have to work at liking JRPG.... I can totally relate to that... Watch the unskippable episode on eternal sonata... it made me chuckle.

Sports and racing games mostly.
I like video games because it allows me to do the impossible, not just the highly improbable.

Sports games. I'm no fan of sports, and I think it's stupid anyway. If you want to play some football, go out and play some football! Don't sit on your couch playing another carbon-copy Madden game.

Other than that, I like at least one game in each genre.
