There actually isn't a genre that I can't get into. Artillery games (Worms), FPS (Halo 3), Platformers (Mario 64), Puzzles (Portal), Sports (Wii Bowling), Fighting (Super Smash Bros Brawl), RTS (Warcraft 3), Sim (Rollercoaster Tycoon 2), and MMO (Guild Wars). But if it counts as a genre, I've never really played casual games like bejeweled and such.
Hmm.....I'm don't really like FPS single-players......though I do play them with friends. No clue why since I get killed more than I pick up guns. I'd probably say FPS's anyway because even though I liked to play them I still like them less than any other genre. Oh yeah and generic racing games like Gran Turismo. Oh and sports games like Madden.
Usually people make that argument about a game when they can't think of an actual one. You're not invincible in infamous Y'know. Did you even finish it?TaborMallory said:
Well, I dislike sports games for the same reasons you listed. Music games are fun, it's hard to explain why though. I guess cuz it's fun keeping a beat and listening to a song you like....but not EVERYONE likes simplicity in games, so I doubt I'll sway your opinion. Do you by any chance like RTS's? Resistance, Halo, Call of Duty...Any FPS based on the military really. Military games that have more of a stealth focus (Splinter Cell for example) are fine, but I just can't stand plain old shoot-em-ups. I'm not saying Halo and Resistance had terrible stories or anything, just not something I could get into. Kinda like how I adore Fantasy, but find the Lord of the Rings bland. Well written in the sense that there's lots of good detail and thought, but I find all the details to be in uninteresting places etc.

Another subsection is sports and racing (racing is a sport I realize, but it's basically its own genre in video games). To me, watching a bunch of people run around on a field in RL isn't exciting, so it's digitalized version isn't going to do much better.

The only racing games I've ever liked were burnout revenge and pure. And I dont like fighting games. I hate the fact that 1 tiny mistake can cost you the entire race/fight.
*EDIT* And the only JRPG I've ever liked is Lost Odyssey. I've played 3 final fantasy games that bored me to tears, and the characters in Star Ocean:TLH pissed me off sooooo much.
