1. I'm of German (and Welsh, but that's not important) descent and have lived in Germany, I don't find it offensive because I know the assholes will get what's coming to them.

2. The word Nazi refers to that specific party, which only exsisted in Germany; true there has been, is currently, and will be future parties like it and maybe with the same ideals, but only that one was called Nazi, and it happened to be in Germany.

The thing is, as wrong as the Nazis were, I refuse to see them as Evil. Not all Nazis were in on the whole murdering aspect, many were simply normal men and women trying to give thier country a brighter future.

In short, groups aren't Evil, only individual people are.

On a side note did you know that:
Austria is German too (not all Germans joined the German Nation)?
That Gypsys are the actual Aryans?
That the Swastika is a Hindu Peace Symbol?
English evolved from German?
Some words in English come from German, but more come from French and Latin

1. Considering that they banned display of the swastika probably I don't know though I'm not German.

2. Its all Hitler's fault most people don't know he was actually Austrian and just assume that if a "German" guy led the Nazi Party all Germans must be Nazis

I'm German and couldn't care less.

1. They are angry, looks like that is their way of cooling down. And why should i care about random people on the internet? ;)

2. They were the central force in the second WW. And not to forget, most people have their knowledge about WWII from sources that focus solely on Germany.

I'm talking about the structure man, the structure! Take a look at some basic Learn German Language stuff and you'll see what I'm talking about.

1. I am German, and although it does get pretty annoying pretty fast, most of us have learnt not to care. It sure is offensive but nobody really takes offence anymore, because here in Germany most people go "Yeah, whatever, retard" when that sort of insulting starts yet again (especially in the context of football. Also, it's always England doing this. Other countries tend to simply move on after being defeated). So much here is done to fight Neo-Nazism and to teach children everything about WWII so that history doesn't repeat itself that all those insults come across as rather... well, banal.

2. 'Course it's not fair, but what is nowadays? Germany is where it all came from, so it's easiest to blame us.

It doesn't matter that Hitler was Austrian, Nazi's are associated with Germany because the party was German, and Hitler went on to be the leader of Germany, it's not difficult to understand.

Also, well done Germany. I think England could have been a threat but morale was incredibly low in the second half after the stupid decision by the ref, but still Germany played well and earned that win.

Actually Poland played well, for Germany...

Now I have 2 question I'd like to ask

1. To any German residents, do you find this sort of insult offensive, considering it's something that happened around 70 years ago and was more to do with a political party rather then a specific country.

2. Secondly why does Germany get all the prejudice countries like Japan, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Finland, Iraq and Thailand were all affiliated with the Nazi party. How is it fair that a single country and its people get blamed for the actions of a few?
1. YES! It is an insult. That is because not one single teenager cares about what happened in the past. You know, there ain´t many people left who really happen to have been in WW2. So basically we are blamed for something that we only know from a history book. And we get this stuff just too often in school, it´s annoying and boring too. And there are so many different kinds of racists in the world right now (in america for example you can buy those flags at amazon...) but everyone keeps blaming us.

Still I have to add, because I´m a GERMAN... I know this stuff was cruel, but so was the homicide of the indians and the crusades. So don´t hate for not caring about it.

2. I don´t know, maybe because the people who started it all came from here? Oh wait, no, that guy even moved to our place... So basically I don´t know. Be thankfull for the good gamesetting those guys produced.

Because most people are angry about the score, and will bring up things like that. It's just like if we won, there would be Germans bringing up Thatcher, or whatever from history.

It's simple, you lose, you hit 'em where it hurts.

There were far worse places than Nazi Germany e.g. Stalinist Russia, 20,000,000 people dies there. Concerning the other countries, they didn't do the same things on as large a scale as the German Nazis.

Personally I think we in England should get over it. We live in the EU now and that means co-operating with our fellows on the continent, if we can't get over something that happened about 70 years ago then we don't have much chance in the near future.

1. no

2. believe it or not there is still a lot of neo-Nazi's in Germany, and Germany is the one who made the party. I think its what they are best know for, also in soccer games they displayed.. well some pretty racist things. Even in present day. So its just people stereotyping. Don't take offense.

EDIT: Also that bullshit call by the reff might have something to do with it.

I'm not from Germany, never actually been there, and I know like 5 words in German, but being mostly German it offends me (about half of the offensiveness is because I hate nazis with a passion)...

But ironically most of the hardline England supporters are also E.D.L members which mean their politics have more in common with Hitler than most Germans!

And England had to leave, it was tea time.

See? It works for other countries too.
I'd refute your argument, but sadly I'm Swedish and therefore completely indifferent to anything going on in the world.

See? World War 2 scarred us as well!

Sooo... I'm German. And I'm fucking tired of all the Nazi crap. I'm forced to identify with a legacy I didn't participate in and can't even begin to imagine how horrible the times were back then. This may sound like ignoring everything that happened in WW2 but we Germans are very well aware of the shit our (great)grandparents took part in. And we know that something like Hitler's megalomaniac dictatorship must never ever be repeated.

Believe me, if you turn on the TV here, chances are pretty high that you'll encounter a documentation about something that happened during WW2. It's also a theme you are constantly reminded of in school. History or literature classes for example.

As I wrote further up: It's still a very present issue and even my generation (the third after WW2) can't develop without the prejudice and stigmatism you have when being a German. It's simply tiring to defend yourself. I'm NOT writing about the people who actually were/are Nazis, they deserved what they've got.

And by the way: there are LOADS of immigrants living here that are very well integrated into daily life.

why is it that when someone says Germany at least one person will think 'Nazis', that was 70 years ago Germany's changed since then
All of Europe haven't, You know that civil rights thing we had over here? Yeah not existent over there. Still PLENTY of racism. Still a lot of neo Nazi's. Not saying that its right to call all Germans Nazi's. Yet there is still a lot of Germans (hell Europeans for that matter and some Americans) who follow Hitlers beliefs. Thats where people are getting this from.

I'm of German decent... but to Germans, Nazi Germany is the most humiliating point in their history. Who would want to be constantly reminded that they had that shitty of a name in the past? I don't care who you are, no one likes to be reminded of your forefathers mistakes.

A quick review.

Germans are nazis.
Americans are indians.
People from latin america are mayas, incas and aztecs.
Norwegians and icelandics are vikings.
Eurasians are mongols.
Japanese are ninjas and samurais.
Irish are leprechauns.

From some people's screwed-up point of view... THIS ALL FITS WITH REALITY!
