I saw another report like 15 minutes ago running on the looped Fox News cable channel.

They intentionally replayed the dude's friend saying they played Counter-Strike and he was really good at killing people twice, and the lady at the desk said, "Sounds like another case for video game violence."

Now, the moron who came in here calling people LIBERALS because they criticized Fox News, can you explain how I - a conservative - who saw that entirely biased bullshit manuever for what it is - am a liberal?

You can't? Thanks.

They have been blamin Counter Strike ever since 2002 on the shooting, not really sure why but it was always the negative poster-child of gaming in Germany.

Me, I blame poker. Because...ahem...it encourages you to cheat and...eh..lie?

I don't see how anyone could believe the old "they kill because they play shooter" argument.

Seriously. How many people in the world play counter-strike regularly? Now how many of those people have killed anyone, ever? Its safe to assume that if counter-strike really caused murders then the world population would be significantly smaller.

That's stupid, once again Fox likes to reel out lies. Making assumptions about violent games in order to make a story. It's sad.
Welcome to "THE MEDIA"! One thing that you probably figured out by now is "The Media" will do anything to get MONEY! Since bad news sells better then anything, and bad news doesn't happen as much as "The Media" would like,so they make some/or make an existing problem seem worse! By simply adding something or twisting the story, they can make any story meet their needs.
(This is my opinion on this subject, if you don't agree with me fine, your allowed to have your own opinion).
Oh I know this already, but I agree with you.
I knew that you knew about the imfromation that I just told you. By knowing the knowledge that they don't want you to know, you can easily filter the horse fertilizer that they stuff into our ear's on a daily bases(Sorry if I spelled any thing wrong).

If so. McDonalds is responible for every overweight human who gets and heartattack becaouse they ate their meals. Panasonic is responible that people year glasses becasue they watched TV. This list goes on and on and on.

No! Everyone needs to take their personal responsibility and stop blameing everything on the higher-ups.

It realy is stupid. I know! Lets blame WW2 on Battlefield! This stuff is getting out of hand. Why do kids insist on going mad and shooting people? Also why do his friends say stuff like 'He played counter strike'? I mean surely there was more to his life than that. It also points the blame at the game.
Isn't the POINT to make the games look bad?
I mean, I play World of Goo a lot, and if I were ever to go on a school shooting, I'm sure they would try to blame that somehow, too.
I think they're just out to get gamers now, the same way they were during the D&D ages.

dont be a typical liberal and not cite your sources
Notice the above post where a liberal newspaper is actually defending gamers (Guardian in the UK), and then you go and moan about liberals. GG.

So because I play counter strike, I will go on a school shooting rampage. Well I'm surprised my school hasn't been closed down because most the kids I know if they don't play Counter Strike they play Halo, or COD. It's really quite stupid.
Whoa! You need to move to another school. That's just a bomb waiting to go off right there... [/sarcasm]

I wonder what the youth crime rate is in Korea.

I mean, if there's ANY evidence that games cause violent behavior, it would certainly be felt in korea above all other places.

Gaming isn't a pastime in Korea, it's a way of life that the population at large is comfortable with. Star Craft tournaments are aired on television, professional gaming is almost a bread and butter industry.

I don't know the facts, but it should be interesting to see if, with the focus on a culture on gaming, what the youth violence rate is compared to the US.

I new it! Someone always trys to pass the book onto gaming! I should have known it would have been fox news! He played poker,so why dont we blame it on poker?!
Because poker is more of an adult's thing. And so, if we were to destroy their sources of entertainment, they'd get pissed, but of course, they would be right and we wouldn't because we are of course underage, incapable of rational though and thus retarded and don't deserve a second thought or even a pat on the back.

Not only that, but what about countries where kids are forced to become soldiers and shoot people? I don't see them playing videogames. In fact, many won't even know what a videogame is because American soldiers are too busy killing them.

Ok this is utter bs! FUNFACT: on my high school they actually had 10 gaming pc's hooked together with cs installed on them, so scholars could game there. And so far I know, no shooting has happened there.

Didnt you know that Counter-Strike was a murder simulator designed to get people to go on school shootings? /sarcasm
Fox-news-man here! That looks like a valid source to me! I'll use my superpowers of misinformation!!!

GAMES KILLING KIDS!

Today, one source within the video game 'community' admitted to Fox-news-man that "Didnt you know that Counter-Strike was a murder simulator designed to get people to go on school shootings?...". DEAR GOD READERS, FIND THE NEAREST VIDEO GAME STORE AND CLEANSE IT WITH FLAMES!
I'm pretty sure its only a matter of time before a mob of crazed conservative soccer moms form a mob and lynch gamestop employees
I'M A GAMESTOP EMPLOYEE!
You, my friend, should better stay away from work for some time. Oh, and if you don't, wear a funny hat of some sort, so I will recognize you and not beat the silly out of you. Fellow escapists must look out for each other so that we can thrive and one day take over the world right?
