This is a thread to get all of your music complaints out in the open. Don't worry, you will not be judged for your taste in music. However, a few ground rules before we begin, if I shall.

1.) Do not just say the name of a band. If you do not like a band, give reasons, examples, and general detail on why you dislike them. Same goes to genres of music.

2.) If you post intentional flamebait, you will be reported. I will not tolerate bullshit.

3.) If people have complained about it before, just join in the conversation. Don't post the exact same thing they said. Hopefully, this will help de-clutter the thread.

4.) If any of the below are heard in the thread, I will stab you with a corkscrew through your moniter.
4a.) "Rap is crap with a silent c", R.A.P.=Retards Attempting Poetry, etc.

4b.) "Hipster Shit."

These are overused enough as it is.

5.) Avoid opinion myopia. If someone posts something you disagree with, or doesn't like a band you like, it doesn't mean that they are doing it to be assholes. It's probably because they actually feel that way. NOTE: This does not give you the right to post like a retard. Freedom of speech != Freedom from reprocussion.

6.) No complaints ending in "Why do people like this shit?" Opinion myopia, remember?

Now, begin!

Well, I don't like most rap music, though Jay-Z is something special on his black album. But all the other rappers, no, don't like it.

Oh yes, the why. Why do I not like rap? Well, 50% of the times they sing about b*tches, ho's and n*ggers. Oh yes and killing people and bling-bling. I look for something with a little bit more deepness then just using some foul language in a song. The other 50% sing about how hard "the life on the street" is. I can't relate to that, as I don't live in Compton or whatever. So no rap for me!

Oh yes, I also don't like it because: "Rap is crap with a silent c", R.A.P.=Retards Attempting Poetry, etc. and it's "Hipster Shit."

What is it with ruining potentionally mediocre pop songs by featuring a rapper somewhere in the middle for no discernible reason? It seems to be a growing trend, and it's disturbing.

Hipster sh-Oh dear god my pancreas!

Okey, okey, I will play nice.

As for my complaining:

Shut up, Justin Bieber! You are being used by others to make money, and in less than half a decade your career will be over, replaced by some new teen idol whom everyone will complain about. But I'm complaining about you know, so stay focused!

Say what you want about the Jonas Brothers. As shit as they were, they had more class than you. Yes, you are being outclassed by the Jonas Brothers, congratulations. It's bad enough that so much mainstream pop-music has to be about partying and getting girls, now some underaged kid is going to join in the fray? How is anyone going to relate to you in "Baby" when you're chasing jailbait? How is anyone going to take you serious when you look like a cross between Macaulay Culkin and Vanilla Ice? You make generic, shitty music and your fanbase is one of the most despicable kinds one can have. And stop trying to make yourself look like some kind of sex object, you're like 5 foot tall and as skinny as my forearm!

There, rant over. Now I don't have to talk about Bieber anymore for the incoming week, as I have already ventilated my rage.

I'm sick of how the good parts of many popular songs are ripped out, thrown into a pot, mixed with rap and then sold as "original". It's cheap.

I haven't followed mainstream music for a decade now or perhaps longer. Most of the music I do hear from now, has no meaning/content for me anymore. Most songs sound the same and some don't even sound like they are made by humans anymore (can't explain this reason but, there it goes).
Most of the time I just listen to everything that was before mid '90's with a few exceptions like MSI.

Ive always liked heavy stuff witch is why im upset i didnt get to follow metallica and megadeths rises. Atlesat i have all of their music now.

I dont like how the songs of today all focus on the same stuff in their genres. I dont see much rap but all that i have is about the same stuff. I like the older rap. You know the stuff that was frekaing HILARIOUSE.

let me see if i can find some.

I dislike rap and metal, but what I truly hate is Radiohead.

It's so fucking bland. It's nothing.

Also annoying is U2. I hate U2, I hate everything about U2, I hate every song of theirs I've ever listened to, I hate Bono, I hate The Edge, I hate Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen.
I love U2. And Coldplay. everyone seems to hate Coldplay. I also have a firm disgust for mainstream, anything popular usually isn't that good for me.It mostly sounds the same. Bands I do like: Muse, Radiohead, Slipknot (Sorry, love 'em), Coldplay, U2, The Beatles (Oh come, you know they're brilliant), Rage Against The Machine...you get my drift.

I generally do not like any rap that is not joke-rap or raprock... it's just ear rape to me.
Rap's often more about meaning than music (good rap that is), you should try listening to some story rap songs, those are generally my favourite. However, with good beats or mixed with good music (as you said, raprock, but there's more good stuff, mixing it with some fusion etc. but it all depends on your preference of course) it can really make for some good songs that aren't just about the lyrics. Still, it's really both an acquired and a specific taste so I'm never surprised when people don't enjoy it, I didn't either until I found some really good stuff :)

Anyway, pop music. More specifically, bad pop music. Further specifically, the Serbian (or more precisely ex-Yugoslavian as it's all over our territory) turbo-folk, which is a sort of a mix between bad pop (although they started mixing in some bad rap too) and bad folk music, it's the worst thing you can imagine really. In fact you don't have to imagine it, just watch Eurovision, it's impressive to watch make ourselves stand out as the biggest among all the awful music that goes into that show.

Mind numbingly stupid songs/lyrics and cheesy awful music. It's the one thing I hate talking about because it's so impossibly hard to stay objective (particularly when you're talking to someone who likes it) in the face of something that is that shit :p

I hate over earnest kerrang rock like 30 seconds to mars, christ they suck. they all do. I also hate most metal, fucking tuneless noise (I have a friend who loves it so i know enough to judge). Most of its as sacharrine and poor as any chart hit today, just with a different backing. Although there is good stuff, I must admit (i am partial to a bit of Iron Maiden for example)

I hate people who hate all rap, even when all they've listened to is fiddy and the crap they have now. Don't dismiss a whole genre based on a limited knowledge. Try some public enemy or de la soul, even eric b and rakim are pretty good. even modern rap can be brilliant, such as Outkast and ghostface Killah.

The same can be said of pop, which is also often maligned. The beatles played pop music, so did MJ. Are they crap? No. Good pop is great, just as bad pop is bad. it's the same with most genres.

And RnB, RnB isn't Rihanna singing badly then a rapper coming in. it's Ray Charles doing his thing or Motown, the whole of motown. Anyone who dismisses RnB is a cretin, because theres still some good stuff out there keeping the spirit of it alive.

oh, and I really dslike most prog rock, I've tried listening to it and just don't care for it at all (except for Pink floyd and king crimson).

I hate people throwing random fucking noises into a perfectly good song, nearly ruined a couple Sugar Ray songs.

I also hate people demanding for artistry in every damn song, as long as there are cool sounding distorted guitars and a singer I don't want to strangle I'll like it and I don't want to feel stupid for doing so.

Sorry if this is more related to the people rather than the music itself.

I don't like the fact that I am hated on by everyone I know simply because I don't enjoy The Beatles and Radiohead. I acknowledge their contributions to music, but apparently I am not human because I am not utterly amazed by them.

Also, the amount of female pop singers trying to be sex objects. The music generally is a few beats with lyrics that rarely has any substance to it, and you are not good role models for all the young girls that want to be like you :/

1. When things that aren't ska are referred to as 'skanking'.

2. Most rap I hear day-to-day is crap. There is good rap though, it's just harder to find/older, like NWA or Public Enemy.

3. Most Scandinavian metal. Over the top, cheesy, takes itself too seriously... it's just not good. You can probably tell that I don't like most death metal either.

4. Bands like Bullet For My Valentine, which I don't think are in the true spirit of metal. Metal should be about letting your emotions out, making you go "FUCK YEAH" after the song. So basically, unless it's a more sedate ballad a metal song should either tell a story, be angry or just energetic. BFMV are more about sadness, which is not an energetic emotion.

5. Bring Me The Horizon. No good points. At all.
