30 Seconds To Mars are the worst band in the universe.

Metalcore and hardcore are the two worst genres in the universe, and in my personal and long suffering opinion if you like Five Finger Death Punch you should be put to death immediately.

Metalcore is everywhere and it SUCKS. Same with 30 Seconds. I have no fucking clue why people like this shit.

Okay, on that note, nothing more like that. Any complaint ending in "Why do people like this stuff?" is banned.

Lady Gaga is actually a good singer.

People use her all the time as an example of how soulless music has become. If you want to use Ke$ha or Justin Bieber or 90% of the music you'll hear on the radio, then fine, but Lady Gaga has talent. If you've heard just her and a piano, you'll know. She is also one of the most prominent trolls in society, coming second to the collective force that is Anonymous.

Because seriously, she's suckering a lot of people into her nutjob person, when it's been shown that she has been just a regular person once.

Justin Bieber has fans! Also, so does BrokenCYDE.
Just because you don't like it doesn't mean no one else can. Opinion myopia, people!

I feel like that is becoming my madness mantra...

Cannot stand most death/heavy/whatever you call that unintelligible stuff. It's not that I can't understand it, it's more the way it sounds. Just screaming.....

Ugh, Rap...
While I could spew hate on it all day, I agree with your request for keeping it flame free.
That and I be lazy. =3

Well it all depends on your perspective. I view it as poetry, that is only enhanced by music and a beat, whereas most view it as repetitive music with people talking over it. As I said in a previous post, Rap died around '94, so most stuff people hear is utter garbage. Also I literally never listen to awful rap. There is an abundance of real rap, although it is unfortunately obscured by the majority giving the rest a bad name.
I guess I need to agree with you there.
While Rap and R&B are leading the way imo, music in general just seems to be going downhill lately, it's a little depressing.

Slightly off topic, but I think I may have figured out why Rap lyrics rub me the wrong way so much.
One of my favored genras is J-pop, and even if I know the lyrics in English, the Japanese lyrics don't register as words on a subconscious level, instead they register as another layer of the music itself where as Rap does the jarring opposite.
I also have been known to listen to melodic trance, which further supports this theory. o_O
That should cover it.
Took me ages to come up with that theory as to why I dislike it so. o_O

Also Country. It's like feeding greens to a kid to me, blech. *Shudder*

Kings of Leon. I'm sorry, I've tried, but they just sound bland to me - boring voice to start with, uninteresting instrumental parts on top of that. They just seem to sap energy out of me when I hear them - and everyone else I know goes crazy over them.

Also, "Summer of '69" is another one that switches me off. Not sure why there.

I'm bothered by Glee the T.V. show. Just for one thing they did, and that was they sang Bohemian Rhapsody. Now, I'm not bothered when the remake songs most of the time, but that is one of the largest musical no nos that you can make, second only to fucking with stairway to heaven. My sister keeps trying to convince me that it's better than the original, but I ignore her because her musical knowledge extends to Broadway shows and ends where it starts. But only 2 groups can do Bohemian Rhapsody, and that's queen and the Muppets. They did not redo Bohemian Rhapsody out of love, they did it out of greed.

Savage Garden were awesome. Darren Hayes went solo and released Spin, good album. Then he released The Tension and the Spark, another good album. he then released This Delicate Thing We've Made...oh dear. the music was a bit too different to what his last stuff was like and i wasn't keen on it

I'm pissed off that Iron Maiden are playing 80% stuff from the last 2 albums on the current tour.

I want to hear Hallowed Be Thy Name and The Trooper, not fucking Benjamin Breeg.

I'm not particularly a fan of a wide variety of electronic music (techno, rave, and so on). It just sounds like somebody broke out a synthesizer and started playing and didn't fucking stop, then some people get the goddamned nerve to make it ridiculously fast and it just sounds ridiculously horrid in the end (breaking one-thousand beats does not make you cooler). Now, I'm not saying that ALL electronic artists out there do this (there is probably an artist out there that I would like if I actually took the time to look), but some of the songs I've listened to have made me back away from this genre with a disapproving look on my face and letting a long, drawn out "meh" escape from my lips.

I am not going to complain about a single band, nor am I even going to complain about a specific genre. What I would like to whine about is you. No, not <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view>you, but people in general, the people who decide to ask me what I'm listening to, and then bash it for no reason.

Everyone, look. I understand that people are curious creatures, and that if you see someone with a white earbud in their ear, your first thought may be, "What are they listening to?". Certainly this doesn't apply to everyone, but those of you who do it, you know who you are. Now, when you ask this person about their currently playing song, there are a few possible outcomes.

A) The person tells you the song, and you like it.
B) The person tells you the song, and you don't like it.
C) The person doesn't tell you, and you are fine with that.
D) The person doesn't tell you, and you are upset by that.

Now, in situation A, the only thing you can really do from there is say "Okay, that's great, I like them as well.

In situation B, you will want to criticize their choice in music. When you do, this can lead to an argument.

In situation C, you ask, you don't get an answer, and you are fine with that. If you are fine with that, why did you ask in the first place?

In situation D, you don't relieve and answer, and rightly so, you are upset. Now you've begun another argument with the person.

Look at it this way: In 2 of the situations, you have a good chance of starting an argument with someone, and in one of the situations, you have no right to ask them of their choice, if you aren't bothered by not getting an answer. In only one of those outcomes, you get an answer you like, and you and the other person will get along fine. That's usually where the conversation ends though. It's not all that easy to carry a conversation about a certain band, as likes and dislikes are purely subjective.

You don't really get anything out of it, so please, I'm begging you, stop asking the question "What are you listening to?"

Thanks you.

I hate the hate on Rap. M.I.A., Missy Eliot, RZA, The B.E.A.S.T.I.E. Boys. Do rap haters hate the B.E.A.S.T.I.E. Boys? Madness, utter madness.

The only thing I hate is auto-tune, just cut that shit out.

My rant...

--How Madonna Killed Live Music--

I'm not saying that Madonna hasn't made good music; I'm saying she killed LIVE musical performances. Madonna made concerts and live performances more about the SHOW, and less about the music. Sure, prior to her, people would put on a good show, but the music was still the main attraction. But Madonna came around and made her shows less about the music and more about the 'stage acting'. Whether it was her plethora of backup dancers, costumes, simulated sex onstage, or a hundred other acts garnered to gather/attract attention.

I know people did a lot of similar antics prior to her doing it... but she brought it mainstream, and bigger than anyone before her. So now you can't see anyone perform live without a dozen backup dancers - most of them acting like they're in the midst of an epileptic seizure, but that's another rant - and usually making a big production out of their antics on screen. So much so that a lot of the performers have to lip sync the songs because they can't possible sing and act out the way they do.

there is a whole lot of shit that i hate about music. like why cant a bands second album never be good... it seems impossible. also all the stupid fucking sub genres, there are four kinds of music: rap, rock, country and pop. i know im leaving alot out but i dont care. also i hate when poeple say a band is the worst band ever... well they are making more money than you so apparantly someone likes them. the one thing i would like to start seeing is a bar that doesnt play top 40 hits and plays rock that isnt mainstream... that would be awesome

I was a little upset by that until they played dance of the dead and it was awesome. Also when they actually played Hallowed be thy name.
