Virtual console is the best thing ever.Slacker2000 said:50$ is a small price to pay for a year of fun. FUN. Not fake fun like PS network or Nintendo WIFI.

As I stated above, using ethernet to powerline would be the best bet for someone like you. And it would boost your signal strength for other things that are wifi.Stevedave00 said:Bah, Then i won't have it. I guess I'd have to know what type of specs your router has too, but that seems like a pretty reasonable distance. The people I have heard who had problems had their router on one floor and their 360 on another.Darkrai said:86 1/4 feet from it.paypuh said:How close is your 360 to your router? That's most of the issue when it comes to signal strength. If it's close enough, like in the next room, I'm sure it works as advertised. I still wouldn't pay $100 for it though. I'm far too cheap.Darkrai said:I've never had a bad signal. I love my wireless receiver. Pricey, but worth it.paypuh said:From what I have heard, the wireless adapter has a very bad signal receiver.Zethen said:yes they did the same thing with their wireless receiver, they didnt include one, then market one for 100 bucks flat (rest assured they make them in some sweat shop in china for 10 bucks) now thats profit
It's far easier to use a ethernet to powerline adapter, which essentially gives you the same signal strength as if you were to plug your 360 straight into your router and you can get them for $50. A much better deal IMO.
How exactly do you get fake fun? Like, "Hey, this is fun, but its made up." :SSlacker2000 said:Not fake fun like PS network or Nintendo WIFI.

Essentially, you get two outlet plug-ins. They look like surge protectors for a reference. You'd plug one in by your router and plug your ethernet into it. That sends the signal throughout the wiring in your house, and with the second wall plug-in, you put that near your console and connect an ethernet cable from that to your console and viola! There are many different flavors offering many different speeds. They can be as cheap as $30 to as expensive as $200.
Gasp! $5 a month!? The horror!Zethen said:So my Xbox live gold membership recently ran out, and I am sitting here staring at amazon.com and wondering why im about to pay 50 bucks for another year of online gaming, sony got it right, god even nintendo got it right, but the cash cow that is microsoft is just unwilling to get its gold soaked hands off the piggy bank! anyone agree?
Actually, I'm guessing the Ads make up the costs. What you're paying for is essentially running a server, nothing else really.AtticusSP said:Paying for online is what lets them provide the best service of the major consoles.
What we really should get on Microsoft for is charging money for icons and backgrounds the PS3 has for free.
