Hell yes, every nerds dream or maybe just mine :) but for the gaming hotness to kick in they already have to be somewhat attractive. Most of the time you do not know what the girl looks like but that does not stop your immagination running away until you are playing with some godly creature.

I had a girl avatar on WoW and it is amazing how well you get treated, everyone trying to give you stuff. I had this one guy follow me around for days giving me stuff and doing stuff for me, I did not say I was a girl I just never informed him I was a guy. So for a while there I was a hot girl, being a gamer did improve my hotness ;P

Hi, I'm a gamer, and I'm a girl. :)

A hang out with guys who play video games a lot. They keep telling me that being a girl who plays and GETS video games like they do makes me "hotter". I personally have no idea how playing video games makes me more attractive.

So I'm asking, do you believe this to be true? Why or why not? And if you're a girl gamer, has this ever been said to you? What are your feelings on it?
Your physical appernence doesnt go up but it makes you cooler and more fun to be around, if that awnsers your question.

I do like girls who play games however I think it's less to do with 'games = hot', more to do with sharing our interests. It's the same if girls really like football.

Well I hope my boyfriend thinks I'm hot :/
I don't wanna be treat different because of my gender - it's like having a boy in Textiles or drama class. The idea that they must be gay for being in such a class.
I'm not hot, and I doubt gaming makes me hotter. I probably just look fatter and lazy :p

your probably more likely to be cooler to hang out with, girl gamers are cool like that

edit: my reasoning goes as follows. guy gamers would love a girl gamer because of shared interest, it also means they have something in common to talk about from the get go, and occasionally you can both laugh at internet memes.

i suppose guy gamers find girl gamers hot because they are more likely to care about fun in general, and less likely to care about unimportant things

oh, the post below me, ahhhh, good times :p

No, you're not attractive.

The fact that you come to the Internet for recognition of your "attractiveness" only makes you that much less attractive.

As for "gamer-girls" in general, I couldn't care less. I enjoy playing video-games with people, and if a girl wants to join me and my friends; I wouldn't stop her, but it also wouldn't make her special.

I find intelligence, strong personality and an absence of make-up attractive... Not someone's will to share the enjoyment an entertainment medium with me.

I also find looks attractive, but that almost goes without saying.

Okay is it just me or did this whole thread seem like a female pining for attention?
In my opinion, true female gamers are not people who spam and draw attention to the fact they are a girl playing games. If you truly enjoy it, who cares what anybody else thinks? It shouldn't be a big deal, it isn't a fucking big deal and nobody cares.

Ah, the mixed splendors of the internet. I love to read forum responses, you get so many different views, usually sprinkled with bad grammar.

But, as to the question you asked. I'm sure you've already figured out your answer but here's my answer: Yes, your friends are right, they just probably couldn't come up with a better word for it than "Hot" due to the culture of this age. Attractive is a general term for it, but interesting is the word that comes to my mind. When a girl is a gamer, it opens a world of possibilities for a guy who is a gamer because he has a point of relation, something in common. This common ground opens up ideas and then coupled with chemistry leads him to wonder if the girl is enjoyable to play with.

With the answer being yes, the guy has found a reason to be around the girl, thus attracting him to her. The girl is more attractive. Now I know you're saying "Oh, but you said interesting was the word and attractive was the general term!" YES, the girl being an enjoyable gamer is the attractive part, but the fact she games is INTERESTING. Same with any qualities one may find attractive, it peaks and interest, and when the interest is lived up to, the attraction holds. List some things you find interesting in a guy and figure out how it leads to you being attracted to them and you'll see why guys think girl gamers are "hot".

NOW, NOT ALL GUYS THINK THAT WAY. I'm WELL aware that there are guys who want girls out of their games, to be left alone or to have something to themselves.

Then there are the ignorant dolts who believe that every single creature with a vagina is out to do nothing more than get men to drool over them like dogs and then leash the best ones they find as pets. These men believe that women can't find anything interesting in games except to use them as a malicious tool to achieve their goal of dominating the male mind. They've also probably had few girlfriends, if any, and if they HAVE had girlfriends then their relationships have probably been shallow at best.

In summery: I like it when a girl games because it breaks a barrier, allowing a better relationship for me. Don't game to be "hot" it doesn't work. Attention whores do bug me, but I don't let the ones I've met spoil women I will meet for me.

I think Avykins summed it up well for me on page one, girl gamers on the whole *sweeping generalization aside* are anything but attractive, but then again the average male gamer isnt going to win any beauty pageant; usually sporting man boobs and a pungent smell that could knock out bears. Aside from this 'girl gamers' have a special place in hell reserved for them in my book, [edgy generalization]attention seeking to core and utterly shite at anything that isnt an MMORPG...[/edgy generalization]

The answer is Yes and Maybe and No.
Sorry to be vague, but you'll have to take 30 seconds to read this.

Yes, because you can share a common interest, like a girl that's into sports or cars or action movies or something else that is commonly thought of as a guy's domain.

Maybe, because you have to cool otherwise, like playing games doesn't mean you'll connect with every guy just because you play games, because not all guys play games. Also, it's not a license to be a ***** or dumb or not cool, look at any reality show, sure the girls are attractive, but they're either dumb as rocks or a complete ***** or both, which doesn't equal girlfriend material.

No, because think about this; does a guy who's into interior decorating, clothes, shopping, fashion, romantic comedies staring Drew Barrymore, cooking and other things that are traditionally considered a part of the women's domain appealing?

In and of itself, it's neutral hotness. I find it hot, but I'm a nerd. But at the same time, taking on male roles risks the you de-sexualizing yourself. I'm saying that not to say you can't be sexy, but you lose your gender role, so males may not see you as girl, the same way a man can lose his gender role if he's too effeminate and enjoys American Idol and Drew Barrymore movies.

My advise, don't advertise that you're a girl gamer. Don't let it define you. Let the guy find out on his own, and he'll be really attracted to you because of it. Same way I don't mention that I can cook, but when I surprise a girl with a well made meal and dessert she'll be completely charmed.

They relate to you better. People find it attractive when people of opposite sex share the same interests. If I met a girl that plays guitar and listens to metal, I'd be extremely turned on.

To me there are two types of female game player:

Girl Gamer: A girl which happens to be a gamer. We all know these people. That high pitched voice in your ear announcing to all in the room that she is a girl and "OMG I'm playing games". These sniveling little twats never seem to shut up and boast abouth their looks an the fact they have breasts and you don't. The dime a dozen wastes of genes only seem to poison a team's performance with their lack of skill yet do not seem to piss anyone off because she is a high pitched little ninny.

and then there is the...

Gamer Girl: A gamer which happens to me a girl. The often dominant players in a room or party that show off impressive skills and often keep to themselves. They never announce that they are female because that means breaking their aura of concentration while they pop a few caps in your astounded little ass. These girls are quite fun to play with and seem quite knowledgeable about gaming. They do not boast of their feminine features since this would mean that she wouldn't be able to communicate tactics or information. These are the types of people you want most on your team, not because they are a girl, but because they had a higher score than all of your team combined last round. Who knows, get her in the mood and you might have quite the stimulating converstion about Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid.

I happen to fit in the latter category. You want me on your team in GTA IV

Because, of course, girls can't have an in-between desu.

Wow, again with the ninja thing. I feel like a sheep just repeating what other people have said but it's exactly what I was going to say.. Anyway, this.
