Give me a stereotype of any genre of music and I will post a song that breaks it.

OT: All dubstep uses a "wobble" bass (low bassline with an LFO modulating a band pass filter.)

I'm not really a fan of dubstep, but Burial got some quite massive acclaim from critics. Completely different to most dubstep I've heard. Some of the most atmospheric music I've ever heard.

Genre = Sixteen bar blues - Is a variation on any standard twelve bar blues or can be built on the less common eight bar blues

All intentionally auto-tuned music sucks.
That means that songs like "Symphony of Science [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSgiXGELjbc]" do not count.

Music as a whole is a collection of good sounding beats and rhythms that appeal to the human brain.

A cacophonous jumble of random sounds, words and beats, with a very faint beat underneath it (so it still qualifies as music) would still just sound like a complete pile of shit to the average human being.

If I've done this right, then I think I may have just won the thread.

Not a stereotype though. It's a fact. A stereotype about rap would be that all the songs are about is criminal activity and scoring with 'biatches'.

do I win?
Anyway, that's not really a stereotype. It is just an observation of an essential aspect of music.

No guitars, just a drummer and singers. They cover metal songs and they have played at metal head and their cds are in the metal section in shops, I win :D
There's also Apocalyptica. :) Cellos.

Well, it's worth a shot...since this is a function of mathematics and the sonification of an image, the human element is almost completely removed, beyond choice of sounds.

Even though sounding like a complete pile of shit is always subjective...

This one's surprisingly catchy, actually. IMO, at least. and it fits all your requirements :p

Grindcore songs cannot be completely understood without looking up the lyrics.

Good luck.
I have no problem understanding many bands. It all comes down to experience. True, there will be some things that aren't clear, but I get that with most music.

Spoken word?
Noun 1. rap music - genre of African-American music of the 1980s and 1990s in which rhyming lyrics are chanted to a musical accompaniment; several forms of rap have emerged

Still Rapping
BUt not a stereotype. It's like trying to say that 'highjunp requires jumping' is a stereotype.

Rapping doesn't have electric guitar and drums. OKAY GO, I want to be proved wrong.

EDIT: And all male country artists sing about how horny they are in at least one song

Ok here's one I might be dead wrong about but worth a try. Most 1st gen punk (IE The Sex Pistols and The Clash) are about rebelling, politics and going against the social norms. Also another note is I love all the gens of punk. It's just want I've noticed.

I didn't personally like it, but I can see how some people might like it.

I guess I've just been beaten. Darn.
